  1. I'm no expert on this but I do know that when I interned at a biochemical lab, we always cultivated cells in absolutely sterile environments in order prevent contamination. Even touching certain things within a sterile environment could cause contamination so there was a lot of care in handling the cells. It is a possibility that some of the bacteria did not come from the clean phone but instead, from the surrounding environment. Also, it doesn't matter how many bacterial colonies were on the algar since some bacteria is good. The main focus should be to identify how much harmful bacteria is on the dish. These are the only problems I have with the testing methodology. Obviously, it would be really difficult for you guys to address this and I'm impressed you guys even performed your own tests at all.
  2. I'm sure it will work. But I'm just concerned about the PSU destroying or damaging parts and how long it will hold up.
  3. So I recently purchased an Intel i7-4790K and a Geforce GTX 780. In order to cut costs, I purchased a Corsair CX600M in order to power the system. I made sure to go for something that was 80 Plus Certified but I'm beginning to regret the decision to cut costs and buy a budget PSU. It's not Haswell certified, which doesn't really matter to me since C states can be disabled. My main concern is if the PSU is going to hold up. It's Corsair's builder series which doesn't come with the best capacitors. This PSU does come with a low capacity Japanese capacitor which actually hinders it and prevents it from meeting the hold up time ATX spec which I am told is bad. I'm also told it's not as good under load and my system will use around 475W at maximum load since I have the hardware, a closed loop, and six fans. My question is, was it a mistake purchasing a PSU? Do any of you guys have a powerful machine running on a budget PSU? I'm also worried about the PSU damaging or destroying my other parts. The PSU has voltage protection specs listed but my knowledge in this area is limited.
  4. I recently purchased a Corsair M45 mouse. This is my first gaming mouse but it doesn't seem to track properly. I've narrowed it down to the surface I'm using. It will spaz out whenever I use a surface that isn't uniform in texture and color. The old Microsoft mouse I was using from six years ago tracks on more surfaces and feels smoother. They are both optical mice. Are gaming sensors supposed to be picky or do I just have a defective mouse?
  5. Are their any other types of mice that you guys would recommend besides these two? I'm mainly looking for one with qualities in this order: $60 or less Good build quality Optical Looks cool Has some unique feature I can brag about PC and mac compatible
  6. That is a very good point. Honestly, I didn't plan on using the sniper button for it's intended function anyways. I just really like the build quality of the m65. I wish corsair would offer optical mice made of aluminum. I don't really plan on buying another mouse for ten years after this purchase.
  7. How bad do you consider mouse acceleration? I've never used a laser mouse.
  8. So I've been looking for a new mouse recently. I want one that will last me a very long time, preferably the rest of my life but that probably won't happen. I eventually settled with the Corsair m45. I went on Amazon since it had the mouse for the cheapest price which is $59.99 since the mouse is still fairly new. But I also saw that the Corsair Vengeance m65 was $20 off for the military green version and $9 off for the black version, the one I would probably buy. That would make the m45 and m65 similarly priced at $59.99 and $60.99 respectively. The m65 if a higher quality mouse with an aluminum chassis that comes with more features. It has a higher DPI but it is a laser mouse. I've read that optical mice are better for FPS gaming than laser mice and I am primarily an FPS gamer. I've also read that the acceleration issue on the m65 is not existent. Also, the m65 is a year old and although unlikely, I can't help to wonder if there is going to be a refresh for the m65 this year and that is the reason it's on sale is because this is the case. I know that a mouse refresh is usually a evolutionary upgrade and not a revolutionary one (so not the biggest deal in the world) but I still don't like it when I buy something and a new one comes out two weeks later. The m45 is a new mouse so the chances of that happening are really low if I get the m45. So basically, my question is, should I get the m45 which is a lower quality mouse but is newer and has an optical sensor or the m65 which is about a year old higher quality mouse with higher DPI and a laser sensor?
  9. Well I have a bit of coding experience. Like I said, Java basics. I've gotten up to basic object orientation. I know the basic statements as well.
  10. It's alright. I'm ok with taking AP courses. Currently averaging an B+ in AP Bio. Working my way up to an A. I think I can handle AP Comp Sci if difficulty is the only reason not to take it.
  11. Well obviously I wouldn't. Haha. I was just wondering if the issue has been fixed or limited yet.
  12. So my school recently added AP Computer Science as a course that I can take. It seems like just another programming course. I was wondering if anyone here has taken it and could maybe tell me about it since AP courses are supposed to be standard. Is it a difficult course? I already know a little bit of Java. Just the basics statements along with some other concepts. I've also found out that one of the better teachers at my school is teaching it so assume that the teacher is good. Would you recommend taking it?
  13. So Thunderbolt hasn't really been implemented all that much on PCs because it is a direct bus interface and poses a security issue for PCs. This was an issue when Apple first launched Macbook Pros with Thunderbolt support. It's been several years though. Has the security issue been fixed or limited on Macs or is there still a big gaping hole in the security of a Mac? Also, if there has been a fix or limitation, why hasn't this been implemented on PCs yet? Not sure if this is the right forum section so I'm sorry if I posted in the wrong section.
  14. Really... I'll pay you a buck for all of them plus shipping.
  15. Yeah me too. The problem is I don't have that much stuff or money. My dad also has a habit of throwing my boxes away. He doesn't realize that sometimes if something good comes in a box, that box isn't trash.
