  1. Not at all. It's going to be too expensive for what it is. Both the console and handheld experiences are going to be held back because they foolishly put them in one system. The handheld is too big and the device/games will be far too expensive if this was the main reason you bought it, and the console will be under powered compared to the rest of the competition. They'd really have to sell me on some amazing exclusives or I'm just gonna stick with the Wii U. I also just hope for their sake that they don't intend for this to be a DS line replacement, because that would kill them. Oh and people hoping for 3ds backwards compatibility on this thing, don't. It's a Tegra chip, there's no way this thing will run 3DS games unless they also shove in an Arm processor just for that, increasing the cost even further.
  2. Yeah I'll figure something out. What fun is working on an OEM computer if not for the surprises at every corner?
  3. The XFX GTR RX 480 is a complete beast. I'd get it over a low end 1060 any day.
  4. Thankfully nothing. I have a 6850 and a couple low profiles (GT 740, R7 250, gotta sell the 740) and they're all pretty decent for what they are/were.
  5. True I guess, but if that doesn't work (not gonna apply more force than I'm comfortable with) then I guess I'll have to think of something else. Maybe get a cheap hairdryer from goodwill since I'll only ever use it once.
  6. The problem is I don't have a hairdryer lel. Been air drying my hair for a decade...
  7. Tegra chip means 0 backwards compatibility with 3ds titles and shuns them from console ports for another generation because no company will want to work with it either. It's underpowered, again, when this could have easily just been a generation where they go with some standard AMD hardware like the competition, plus just like how Nvidia burned other companies like Microsoft and Apple I hope they don't burn Nintendo this time. The handheld is too big, I can't realistically take this anywhere without a bag, so this isn't even an upgrade to my 3ds. Plus I'll guarantee that it'll be too expensive to be comfortable taking this on travel anyways. They show some old Wii U titles running on it but I'm almost certain these are re-releases, I hope to god that you don't have to rebuy these titles but knowing Nintendo you most likely have to. Not gonna buy, looks like shit, massive disappointment.
  8. Hi I'm trying to take apart an OEM computer to install a new heatsink, but the problem is that instead of using a normal backplate it's stuck onto it with some weird brown adhesive. Any ideas of the best way to get it off?
  9. It's pretty unacceptable if it's happening when idle tbh. I'd ask for an RMA, don't use the term "coil whine" though, just say that your card is constantly buzzing no matter what you do and it's driving you insane.
  10. Since I can get a less desirable 6850 for about 15-20 dollars pretty easily I was thinking of getting one till I can afford a more significant upgrade. I was thinking of saving up for something like a GTX 960 but I'd rather have a card like a 470/480. My question is would this even be worth it? I'm not sure how the scaling would be on such an old card and I can't find anything on the performance gains on anything since like crysis 2. The 6850 currently can handle 900p medium settings in fallout 4 at 30ish FPS, but I wanna get a bit more performance for these titles to prevent dips during intense scenes. Also I am not experienced with crossfire/SLI, is there a significant power draw increase even when not gaming? Or only when the cards are forced to ramp up? I can just disable one when I don't need it right?
  11. The 850 watt is more than enough for the build. Everything Seasonic makes is ace.
  12. If it's that much cheaper it doesn't matter if it outperforms it lol.
  13. If Jayz's video is what you can expect out of a typical card then that thing equals a 1060 basically. By far the best RX 480 and I actually love the looks.
  14. AMD cards historically stand the test of time better when it comes to performance. It happens every generation where nvidia cards will outperform then lose their edge in a year or two. And it's not clinging to DX12, it's a fact. Here's a little food for thought for you bud, do you know which graphics company has their chips in every single new/refresh gen console coming out? It sure isn't nvidia, it's AMD. The console market is by and far the largest gaming market share, PC gaming means nothing to these companies. And to get the most out of the AMD GPUs you better believe that every single one that develops for the console will be using Async compute to get the best possible performance on their platform. And as we all know nvidia barely benefits/doesn't benefit from async compute.
  15. Lol this entirely is based on needs. But no you're absolutely wrong. What about a person who wants to upgrade peripherals but doesn't want to spend a price premium on gsync? What if you want better performance in future titles? What if you need a gpu with better computation? There are lots of reasons to purchase an AMD card at almost any price point, the only stranglehold nvidia has is the extreme high end with the 1080. Not saying someone shouldn't consider a Nvidia GPU but these blanket statements from obvious fanboys is annoying.
  16. Fury x crushes the 1070 in DX12/Vulkan and keeps up very well in DX11 titles. Yes I'd say you can't go wrong with either company.
  17. All GCN 2 and later AMD cards have Freesync.
  18. I'd recommend people only do this as needed, running your card at full speed all the time will shorten the lifespan of your card. It's completely unnecessary in most games anyways, even on lower end hardware.
  19. As funny as it is that they listed uncapped FPS, customers just don't know anymore lol.
  20. Are there any benchmarks or are we just assuming it beats the 460?
  21. You'll see a commercial failure. No one wants to spend big bucks on a handheld.
  22. I will give you my complete set of Shenmue for free. Kappa.
