  1. Currently in dilemma, planning to upgrade from Ryzen 7 1700 with B350 itx to Ryzen 7 3700x with x570 itx. TL;DR: Is there an M.2 to SATA adapter? However the only decent itx motherboard atm is the ASUS ROG Strix x570 itx variant. But it has 2 fewer SATA ports than my current system needs. There is an extra M.2 slot I don't need (There are two). I'm thinking of having an M.2 to SATA card if there exists any. Hoping that someone has used such a thing before. I can't use my system without having at least 3 SATA ports. Running Raid 0 on 3 SSDs that contain 70% of all my programs. It'll be a huge hassle to restructure my storage system. Definitely will have to clone back and forth between spare HDD and buy new SSDs.
  2. I see pretty much similar performance on my Blade Stealth. 20-30ish fps on 50% scaled resolution, 720p, ULow Overwatch. Basically, Intel's integrated graphics is a piece of turd. I never game on laptops
  3. Ryzen cannot run DDR3, unfortunately. You'd have to splurge (unfortunately) on a DDR4 kit :( Also, the 2400G comes with a cooler. Also, you can reduce the 128GB SSD (crazy ikr) if you don't have insane stuff to load all the time. Depending on pricing, you can also try finding a cheaper psu (though not recommended) since you have an APU I'd personally get an 8GB DDR4 stick and wait for DRAM to come down in price. Try going around recycling depots and thrift stores to save on the miscellaneous stuff. I had a friend who worked at a local bottle depot and got me about 6-8TB of perfectly fine HDDs for free during the 2 months that he worked there. Where there is a lack of money and a will, there's a way :) Oh and don't forget to look on your local second-hand trading websites!
  4. So, I was looking at my battery degradation on my stealth a while back and noticed that the battery wear level is about 15% on HWMonitor, which is still bearable. That got me thinking of a replacement though, since there are a myriad of minor issues that I have with the 7th gen Blade Stealth. I have a decent rig at home with a 1700X and dual 1440p monitors. What I need is an ultrabook that is similar to the Stealth 2017, but with a bigger battery, and preferably a Coffee lake CPU. Does anyone have suggestions or specific models that would fit my use case? My main mobile workload consists of 80% of the time on Teamviewer when I'm in class or at work, with the other 20% generally on OneNote/Chrome/FL Studio/Ableton. I'd like to have ideally a 13-15 inch display. My price point is anything under $1300 Canadian rupees (can be stretched if there's a very good value near it) A few dealbreakers are: - Non-touch display - <1080p display - Heavier than 1.7kg - Average or below average battery life - <8GB RAM (unless expandable/upgradeable) - Any 2C/4T CPU or less Almost dealbreaking: - No backlit keyboard - Non-aluminum chassis - Lack of Thunderbolt support - No Windows Precision trackpad Nice-to-have: - Pen support - 1440p display (doesn't have to be touch in that case) - Comfortable keyboard Ideally, I'd like to have an i5-8520U with expandable ram slots, glossy 1080p touch display, >50Wh battery, backlit keyboard. For the price, it's not unreasonable. I don't need SSD support (I have extra 2.5in and NVMe SSDs lying around to upgrade with) and don't care about RAM if it's user-upgradeable. Hopefully there are some dollars that can be saved through those two options. Any suggestions will be welcome :) Cheers!
  5. I live in Canada! (in the US currently) Going to Toronto soon. Where would I be able to find them?
  6. So I got a mobo that supports Gen 2 speeds at 10Gbps with USB-A ports, but the vast majority of UBS 3.1 products are for USB-C connectors. I can't find a female USB-C to male USB-A 3.1 Gen 2 adapter. Is there even such a thing that exists? There seems to be none on Amazon.
  7. Going to Uni, needing an upgrade. So, I sold my old rig and had an extra 980 left over and some storage + files. Should I build a new rig (which has to be mATX or itx for ease of transportation) or deck out my current blade stealth to use in my dorm with an external graphics card dock, NAS, and a display? My budget is around $1000 CAD (700 USD). For a new rig, I already have the graphics card and the storage, and I'm planning on going Ryzen. Which is more suitable and economically viable in the long run? A new separate rig? Or an upgrade to the Stealth to suit dorm room use?
  8. Running GTX 960 without bottleneck but hey, why not have a chance at a free upgrade amirite. Oh and gibe nao pls.
