@LAwLzDude, I want to fist-bump you. Well said. I was thinking the same.

If we want to conspires for fun though, I think this likely has to do with Intel. Nvidia has never seen AMD as much of a threat to them, and do not really respect them as an equal competitor. Now with Intel coming into the d-GPU market with Open Source drivers and APIs like AMD, I think Nvidia has seen it's time to open up if they want to stay more relevant to users and developers alike in the graphics market.

It's not, any anyone who knows it is has clearly not followed the story properly.

    This is the timeline:
February ~21 - LAPSUS$ gets access to some Nvidia servers.
February 28 - LAPSUS$ makes a public statement that they have stolen data from Nvidia and starts uploading it. They demand that Nvidia removes the hash limiter or else they will publish their leak, because they claim the hash limiter also cripples gaming performance (it doesn't).
March 2 - LAPSUS$ says that unless Nvidia makes all their drivers for Windows, Linux and MacOS open source before March 4, they will release all the stolen data regarding silicon designs etc.
March 4 - Nvidia has not posted anything, LAPSUS$ doesn't do jack shit. They do not post anything regarding Nvidia. Pretty sure they never mentioned Nvidia again and everyone just forgot about it.
March 24 - Several people in LAPSUS$ gets arrested and since then I don't think the group has done anything.

    Skip forward to:
May 11 - Nvidia decides to open source one of their drivers and people somehow think it is related...

Now can we please stop with these idiotic conspiracy theories that clearly makes no sense if we sit down and think about them for a minute?

    In before:
"But what if Nvidia promised LAPSUS$ to release their drivers as open source and that's why nothing was posted on the 4th of March!? That totally explains everything! Except the lack of info... and that Nvidia has no reason to follow through on this supposed promise since the group is no longer active... and that Nvidia did not even fulfil this supposed promise since they have only done half of one thing out of the 3 things LAPSUS$ asked for (release the Linux driver source code for some cards, not all cards, nor the MacOS or Windows driver source codes)

    Edit:
Sorry if I sounded rude but I am so sick and tired of people making up conspiracy theories without doing any research, and then a bunch of users on this forum will take it at face value and not question it at all. It seems to happen a lot, particularly with Nvidia.
Something happens, someone makes a stupid and illogical comment that makes Nvidia seem bad, a bunch of people will jump in, thumb it up, assume it is true (even if it isn't) and then parrot it in a bunch of threads until it becomes "common knowledge" because "everyone says it so it must be true".

Can we all agree to do some research to verify if what we are saying actually makes sense? And to look up if what we thumb up actually makes sense? Misinformation is a serious issue these days, and while this is a rather trivial thing to get incorrect, it still shows a worrying trend where people just assume things are true as long as they align with their biases, which just worsen their biases even more.

I created an account to help up on this thread , here is how i temporary fix this issue while having cam installed
    my issue:
1.cpu temp at 70+ degree celsius while doing nothing
    2. low fps while gaming with r7 5800x and rtx 3070ti
So werid i discovered having task manager running in the background weirdly fix all this issues. I also think this might just be Ryzen's mobo usb issue as my GPU has an LCD screen that displays temps ,ect. Even the gpu temps were not accurate until i have task manager running in the background.
I hope this might help some of you guys.

The same freezing behavior is reported to occur on CPUID's HWMonitor program. I believe CAM uses CPUID's SDK for system monitoring. It seems as though CPUID's software is the culprit as it's attempting to monitor the CPU's low-power states. To my knowledge, C-States throttle down the power supplied to certain, unused portions of the CPU in order to conserve power. There must be some conflict with how their software monitors Ryzen CPUs in particular.

Orcblood got a reaction from Delicieuxz in Google Follows Apple to Bring Opt-Out User Setting for Mobile Advertising IDs in Android 12. Facebook Faces New Threat!
    Summary

In unexpected news - the long time advertising rooted tech giant, Google, and the owner of the worlds largest mobile OS and consequently one of the largest advertising platform, Android, has decided to allow users in the upcoming Android 12 update to opt-out of Advertising ID's in the OS's settings. Advertising ID's, or in Android's specific case GAIDs (Google Advertising IDs), help apps, like Facebook, to track users across differing apps & platforms in order to build a profile of the user. To note though these ID's are not required to build a profile of an internet user. Facebook is able to build profiles of many who don't even have an account on Facebook or any of their direct products. However, Advertising ID's do significantly help curate a lot more data about a user as well as helps with accuracy when matching data to a user and the ease of user-data tracking in general.

This announcement comes well after the famous iOS 14.5 update from Apple which brought App Tracking Transparency  and marked the first move of putting this very wanted power into the user's hands. Apples implementation is better in that it pops up to the user when an app wants to use Advertising ID's (IDFA as Apple calls it). For android though this will be located somewhere in Android's system settings meaning less noticeable and more likely to go unchanged by the user. When opted out, Android will still pass an Advertising ID but it will be filled with zeros thus making it essentially useless.

Apple has received a lot of push back from companies such as Facebook so will be interesting to see how Google weathers this also. For instance apple had planned to release App Tracking Transparency with iOS 14.0 but delayed to 14.5 instead based on these companies response.

    My thoughts
I'm both shocked and stoked that Google is doing this. Wish it was more transparent and easier for the user to be able to see & opt out of but none the less this is a very welcomed step in the right direction. Welcomed I mean by us average users of Android. Not for companies that rely on the platform's big advertising opportunity. Maybe some day it will be an opt-in feature instead of an opt-out. Doubt it but one can dream! Glad to see Facebook loosing it's invasive power. I personally do not trust Facebook with my data. Nor do I think they are an ethical company. Glad to have finally pulled the trigger and deleted my account recently. Just wish I could do it again.
