  1. Hi! I work for a Danish company called Viso Systems where we make laboratory equipment for light measurement (light distribution, CRI, RGB (and CIE 1931), color over angle, efficacy, etc.). My colleagues (especially my boss) and I have been trying to get a hold of your team because we want to loan you one of our machines for your new lab, so you can accurately measure total light output of any light source such as lamps, mobile phones, and displays. You could fx. also measure viewing angles, nits and color reproduction of displays. Check us out on https://visosystems.com/ and please let me know who to contact! (alternatively you can write an email to frederik.ingemann@visosystems.com) As you can probably see, I'm a long term fan of LTT, so collaborating with you would be really really cool! @JonoT @CPotter
  2. Hi LTT forum At my newly aquired work as a IT guy I've run into an issue with deleting local user profile data on roaming profiles. Whenever I delete a profile on a local machine (I do it the proper way through "userprofiles", of cause), the next time the user tries to log on to the computer it creates a TEMP profile. Now I know the regedit solution to the problem (HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\WindowsNT\CurrentVersion\ProfileList and delete the .bak file for the user), but firstly that doesn't always work for me, and secondly it's not a very permanent solution. In the specific issue I have in front of me right now, the reg entry for the user doesn't even exist. I've read that I might have something to do with profiles on Win7 being in folders called "USER.V2", whereof the ".V2" part is not specified in the AD. Although it's not specified the roaming profiles work perfectly when a user logs on to a different machine, so I can't see how this could be the issue. Are there any admins who have any ideas as to what might be causing this and how it can be solved? Would be really cool if I could fix this god-aweful problem once and for all. Thanks in advance!
  3. Hey guys! I need someone who has a hearse to help me spawn one. Any volunteers? If you write in the topic, I'll pm you my username and you can just add me as a friend temporarily. Thanks in advance!
  4. Hey LTT folks! The Phillips Fidelio L1s are on sale on Massdrop at 105 USD (https://www.massdrop.com/buy/philips-l1-headphones) and I was thinking of getting a couple of pairs for me and my brother. He listens to electronic and pretty bass-heavy music, but he's not a Beats idiot, so I want to get him something proper that's also built to take a bit of a beating. I listen to blues rock, metal and that general genre (TOOL), and already have a pair of Beyer DT990 Pros for when I'm at home, so these will be for when I'm at school, public transport and everything else. I really like the open sound signature, and don't mind that I can hear my surroundings, so I figured they would suit my needs pretty well. Also, they're on Innerfidelity's Wall of Fame, so they can't be all bad http://www.innerfidelity.com/content/innerfidelitys-wall-fame-full-size-open. Does anyone have any other suggestions/objections or is this just all good? Thanks in advance, LTT. You're great!
  5. Well they do give off some heat, though.... And they (usually) don't dim that gracefully... But otherwise, yeah they rule!
  6. Oh that's just super sad.. I hope you'll add it to the accesories shop at some point (Though shipping it to Denmark would be kinda' silly). So does it even have your company name or anything anywhere?
  7. Oh, and a direct question for you. I've seen a lot of different versions of your product, and I'm wondering what logo is on the top of the current version? I do really like your logo design (The one on the version Barnacules reviewed)
  8. Sounds cool! I might actually go! Thanks! I think I might go for the AKG 612 Pros. They sound like they suit my needs close to perfectly, and I can get them for 180 dollars at Thomann.de. And then I'll reconsider the Obj. 2 and ODAC (If I buy one, it'll defintely be Mayflower! That guy's just too cool!). Any objections?
  9. I am terribly sorry if you found that offensive! I read it somewhere on the interwebs and assumed it was true Will check them out, thanks
  10. It's not that I need a DAC. It's that I don't like the sound signature on my motherboard one. Wow! Cool you responded! You build the JDS Labs ones too, right? Is there any noticable difference? And is the "dedicated rear 3.5mm line-output" on the JDS Labs one the same as the feature you're talking about?
  11. Hey LTT forum! I am one of those people who's brain just can't stop it's body from shouting like all hell, as soon as I wear sound isolating headphones. I currently have and use a pair of Sennheiser PC 350s which I wear with one cup on (for Skype calls). This is insanely fatiguing, and I can't hear half of what's going on in the games, so it's really not optimal. I've therefore been looking for some open, circumaural headphones with good, refrence-ish sound (if anything, then preferrably a bit on the warm and soft side). My budget is around 250 dollars (190 euros). The pairs I've been looking at so far, have been: Beyerdynamic 880-pro, Sennheiser HD 598 and AKG K-701. I am definetly open to suggestions. I do value good construction and nice design quite highly. Other than headphones, I've been wanting to improve more of the chain so I figured that an Objective 2 and ODAC combo would be a good choice. I use a set of active pc speakers most of the time, so It'd be cool if they can be plugged into the Obj. 2 permanently, while I can override it with the headphones ("DAC-Line output" or " option on the JDS labs custom one?). And so my options are: https://www.mayflowerelectronics.com/shop/mayflower-custom-products/desktop-objective2-with-odac/ and http://www.jdslabs.com/products/48/o2-odac-combo/ Thanks in advance! - Frederik Ingemann Hansen
  12. Unfortunately cable isn't an option, since it's a rented apartment and the idiot who built the building some five years ago didn't think to intergrate it -__- I already have powerline for my room, but the problem is my mother also needs it, and I my current solution can't handle another unit
