  1. Yes I applied thermal paste, I remember looking for a good half hour for that darn tube.
  2. I do not have that right now, computer not with me. I will post once I do tho. What do you suspect the issue to be?
  3. Ya, that's how I logged the gpu load and temps. Everything was at set to +0
  4. It was overclocked, but I don't think it would retain right? I used afterburner on the new machine and everything was back to stock.
  5. In regards to Windforce GTX 770 I originally had it watercooled with the Kraken G10 and it was running fine for 2 years, I recently upgrade to the GTX 980ti, so I decided to use the GTX 770 for a media PC. I removed the Kraken and put back on the original stock cooler. The PC boots, and does everything except run games. A few seconds to a minute into the game, the monitor would say no singal, and everything would just freeze. This is also true when I stress test the GPU, it would crash in seconds. I know it's the GPU, because I had an old AMD Hwhatever and it works just fine, no crashes in games or stress tests. The GPU works, but just can't handle high loads. Is the cooler not sitted properly or something? I would assume the PC wouldn't boot if that was the case. The temps are around 50~C which is what you would expect from the GPU, and there doesn't seem to be any major temp spikes from the logs leading up to the crash. The PC does not crash if it's on idle or watching youtube videoes even for extended period of times.
  6. I found the issue. It seems the songs that contain a space " " instead of a "_" or a "-", results in the script to be enclosed within quotes. Normally there wouldn't be quotes. For example Bob's Song.mp3, C:\Songs\Bob's Song.mp3, it will be "C:\Songs\Bob's Song.mp3" when I select the song. If I take the quotes off, it will only run the script C:\Songs\Bob's, ignoring everythign after the space, thus it doesn't know how to open the file. I can resolve this by simplying replacing the spaces with underscores in the filename, but this was never an issue in Windows 7. Is there a way around this?
  7. I like to use my task scheduler as my alarm clock for waking up, weekly meetings, or work times. After I upgraded to window 10, when I schedule a mp3 to be played at a given time, it would instead of just opening the file, ask "How do you want to open this file?". It kind of defeats the purpose. It will ask everytime the event goes off and there aren't any options to default to a program. Anyone know what I'm doing wrong? My method worked fine on Windows 7. Update: I found the issue. 8. I have not tried VGA, my monitor does have a VGA port, so I could try a VGA to DVI/DP, but would that work? All the ports on the GPU are still only digital. What are you thoughts on a Displayport Splitter? then I can try to go all Displayports.
  9. The Windforce GTX 980ti has 2 DVI, 1 HDMI, and 3 DisplayPorts, I've tried a combination of all available ports.
  10. I've been trying to get 4 monitors working on my Windforce GTX 980ti for the past month, nothing seems to work, and Gigabyte CS hasn't been able to help at all, they told me getting adapters instead of outright hdmi to displayport cables should work, but it doesn't. I use 3 Asus VS247H-P (DVI, HDMI, VGA) and 1 Cintiq 13HD (HDMI). Before I got the Windforce GTX 980ti, I was using the Windforce GTX 770 and my quad monitor configuration was working just fine, but I've been unable to do so on the 980ti even though they're suppose to have "Flex Display Technology" and went with their recommended output groups. Windforce GTX 980ti has 2 DVI, 3 DP, 1 HDMI port. I've used DVI to Displayport cables, HDMI to Displayport cables, HDMI connected to a Displayport adapter, DVI connected to a Displayport adapter. No matter what I try, I can never get more than 3 displays working at any given time. I've gone through the follow outputs: 2 DVI, 2 DP 2 DVI, 1 DP, 1 HDMI 1 DVI, 3 DP 1 DVI, 2 DP, 1 HDMI 3DP, 1 HDMI None of those combinations works, and the output that doesn't work seems to change depending on the order I connected the cables. Anyone have any suggestions? I've dumped $70 on new cables and adapters.
  11. I just got the Windforce GTX 980ti today, and I've come across an issue when trying to connect my 4 monitors to it. It has 2 DVI ports, 1 HDMI port, and 3 DisplayPorts. I use 3 Asus VS Series VS247H-P and 1 Cintiq 13UW (it's a type of drawing tablet monitor). The Asus monitors can only use HDMI and DVI. Two of the ASUS monitors are connected with DVI, and one with DVI to DisplayPort, and the Cintiq with an HDMI. The issue is that only 3 of the monitors seem to connect at any given time. When I have all 4 connected, only the 2 DVI and the HDMI monitors work. When I unplug the HDMI, and plug out and plug back in the DisplayPort, it then works. But when I plug the HDMI back in, the DisplayPort stops working. I can't figure out why. My old GPU the Windforce GTX 770 had all 4 monitors working with exactly the same setup. All my drivers are up to date.
  12. The cores came back. After initially thinking resetting the BIOS didn't seem to work, I reentered my overclocks, rebooted, and now I see all 8 threads again. Maybe resetting the BIOS was the fix after all, since I doubt it was the overclock. Anyway, thanks for all the help everyone! I was worried I would need to get a new CPU, that wouldn't of been fun
  13. I reset bios to default, didn't fix the issue.
  14. http://imgur.com/a/8gNNe Parking was not the issue. It stopped the parking on the 2 core (4 threads) but not the missing 2 cores still can't be found.
  15. I run an i7 3770k on the Gigabyte Z77X-UD5H Motherboard. I was away from my computer for about 2 month, I came back yesterday and updated Windows. Afterwards I noticed that my CPU usage was around 80% just browsing the internet, so I checked Task Manager and CPU-Z and noticed that only 2 of my 4 Cores (4 threads) are working. I know for sure that before I left all 4 cores 8 threads were working perfectly. I'm not sure if it was due to some update or if the cores just died while I was away. Need help! I read some stuff on google about updating my BIOS, would that be the best course of action?
