C0drm0nk33's Achievements

  1. LOL to the NCIX link going to a Lenovo Y50 search.
  2. Ubisoft are the new wannabe as bad as EA company. I'm shaking my head in disbelief at people saying they are starting to like EA more now that Ubisoft are getting worst than they were before. Like Why, better to support the other publishes and studios that do the right thing and boycotting Ubisoft and EA when they do this crap. These companies only understand money and need to be hurt at their bottom line when they pull this crap so they start listening to their customers.
  3. There's a lot of improvement, still needs a lot of work in places. One thing that still annoys me about websites the last couple years is that they look so narrow. So much wasted space on the sides of the screen. People used to design websites to be more dynamic and adjust to screen size better.
  4. With this many SSD's you would need dedicated raid cards and raid 6 or 10 would be better than 0 with so many drives.
  5. Mantle isn't open right now. As per Robert Hallock PR gaming @ AMD https://twitter.com/Thracks/status/383872285351739393
  6. Yeah the kit is only for certain TN monitors, but that doesn't rule out ever buying a monitor in the future. The first monitors with this tech in them are being released in Q1 2014, the brands & number of models haven't been specified but if there's more down the track it may become a standard.
  7. Tearing can be combated with V-sync at the cost of increased display lag. It's possible that either you don't have the resolution to notice the tearing, pushing the system with more intense gaming or using v-sync to remove the issue at the cost of increased lag.
  8. Yes, I know I reckon AMD set about creating mantle as means of combating micro stuttering as draw calls are major cause of frame latency. Reducing the draw call bottle necks and in turn frame latency spikes. On the other hand it doesn't address display lag so much and screen tearing, things addressed by looking at the monitor side of things which Nvidia has done with G-sync.
  9. Apparently Frostbite 3 engine used in Battlefield 4 is based on Mantle. Not sure how that works for Nvidia, whether the engine uses mantle for AMD and then uses directx for Nvidia GPU's on windows?
  10. G-Sync is a game changer and required before we move onto larger resolution screens. Mantle is nice but without support from Nvidia and Intel will not go far, without that support it will fix one problem for developers only to create another. If it develops and Nvidia and Intel get behind it then it could be huge.
  11. It has characteristic's of both. In the US they can't make up their minds, customs has it listed as a vegetable but in their schools the say that it is a fruit even though the rest of the world doesn't. It's actually part of the Solanaceae family of flowering plants which includes aubergines (eggplants) & capsicums (Peppers, chillies etc.)
  12. I hope to see both technologies. Mantle = Possible to make cross-platform gaming engines(and in turn cross platform games) that run closer to the hardware bypassing much of the API overhead bottleneck that caused issues in the past for developers. G-sync = Work around legacy CRT tech from the 50's created for TV's by changing monitor refresh rate to match GPU frame redraw. Possibly complete removal of tearing, stuttering and screen lag which becomes more apparent as screen resolution increases.
  13. Ok I've looked into and there appears to be a beta release 28th Oct. Looking forward to trying it out. http://www.geforce.com/whats-new/articles/geforce-shadowplay-beta-available-october-28
