  1. Thanks for answer Nvidia has stated that multi gpu configuration can enhance performance by 17x in rendering specifically. However that kind of performance is achived by nvidia multi gpu technology for tesla and quadro cards. 2 way sli on 1080 or Titan will not scale as well as multi gpu technology. Running Sli for rendering is also dependant on if the software can utilise it. If it does not, then you have no gains. http://www.nvidia.com/object/multi-gpu-technology.html https://linustechtips.com/main/topic/230663-does-sli-help-in-video-editing-rendering/
  2. I have not seen anyone having more than 1 gpu in a virtual machine OS. Almost always 1 gpu is allocated to each VM OS, is it because sli is not possible with Unraid. As you know, 4 way sli is terrible in performance per dollar. To instead create 2 VM's with 2 way sli each, to cut your work in half and then render half what you need rendered on 1 VM and other half on the other one. This is especially interesting since GTX 1080, Titan XP only supports 2 way sli. This is aimed at computing and rendering at professional level. Not for gaming.
  3. My setup in this day and age consists of the following: Saitek Eclipse keyboard. Logitech MX518 mouse. Trust Soundwave 240 3D speakers. Razer Goliathus mousepad.
  4. No. Titan XP(Titan X) is a lot worse in fps per dollar. A better buy would be if you already bought a 1080, buy a second one if you really need more fps. It will likely be faster than 1 titan XP and it's 100$ more than titan xp when you do 1080 sli.
  5. The 1.35 ghz is confirmed by manufacturer. My link leads to that fact(sapphirenitro...com). It will be interesting to see what next week will bring in overclocking for that 480.
  6. That is probably true, but we have no video backing that up(1.4ghz+). The card is however a good buy, just 20$ above MSRP. But prices for rx 480s are crazy because of the small quantity of cards. And with or without overclock I bet it destroys the 1060. http://wccftech.com/sapphire-rx-480-nitro/ http://sapphirenitro.sapphiretech.com/en/480-8.html
  7. Check out these videos, this guy has put a lot of time into overclocking and has done it on both cards with voltage mods. Put liquid metal on resistors at pcb and get a much bigger powerlimit. On RX 480 he got 1.33 ghz at 80c. GTX 1060 got 2.2 ghz at 70c. Both of the cards had stock coolers. The gtx 1060 is far superior in overclocking.
  8. Your powerline kit is rated at 1.2 GigaBit/Second, 1200mbit/s but those figures are in optimal conditions. Your apartment's powerlines must have a lot of resistance to only get 40mbit/s. Have you tried the connection if nothing else is connected to powerlines. Connected lamps, TV's, appliances might cause disturbance to your powerline network kit. If that does not fix it, buy cat 5e cables and fix them to your apartment's ceiling from router to your room.
  9. If you are worried about electrical damage by high humidity, buy a cheap quiet dehumidifier and put it at your window in your room.
  10. Reinstalling will take time ofc. But if you have a windows 7 ultimate key already then that would likely work good since a network crap thing with Vista is likely the fault, the other one being network card. I recommend you to have responses from different members than I before you install go ahead and install win 7. Someone might have a better answer than I//
  11. Try to borrow, if you have one available, or buy a usb network card for the laptop. The integrated network card on the laptop is probably malfunctioned, because the cable you tried works.
  12. Alright. It's you get what you pay from the ISP. I will keep in mind your recommendation of hardware required to speed up network speed//
  13. W-L and DamnTarget. I meant specifically the internet speed-external network of each computer to the internet. We all have 100 mbps down-upload to internet each. But do you also need 100/1000/10000 fast cables and routers to have more than 100 mbps internet speed for each computer to internet. I will look into the speed of cables
  14. We have a total of 4 computers running at around 90-100 mbps in download and upload. Our switches and routers are transmitting 400 mbits in total from our computers. So why are individual computers locked at 100 mbps. Is there any software or hardware-internet card that could increase 1 computer's internet speed past 100 mbps.
  15. In this day and age, i have one asus gtx 560 ti cu2 top. It consumes a lot of electrones into ok performance. AMD Polaris 9 or 10 would do the same job but create more power!
