I imagine it's much easier to create a solid program when you design it to work with a specific software and OS. Look at people complain about PC games that are ports of console. If it wasn't designed initially for the system, it won't run optimally on that system. Good for Microsoft.
 
I don't get why people get upset with Microsoft for trying to restrict their software. Apple is nearly exclusively proprietary and no one bats an eye... Microsoft makes a move and people freak out.

Good thing I have an 808 in my phone. Imo this isnt Google playing apple, but them instead making a bigger deal out  of security. If your device cant be secured, it wont get the OS. Seems fine to me.

They're mandating Hardware Encryption for the new OS. If your chip doesn't support that? Too bad.
 
Android users should already be used to getting fucked by the Carriers and the Hardware Vendors (and by extension, Google), when it comes to getting phone updates.

Universal Apps aren't limited to 60fps Disabling of V-Sync is in the works (probably with Redstone 1 update). You can sideload Universal Apps (Settings > Update & Security > For developers). Also, Epic boss says that he has no proof of this, only a fear/concern, and nothing else.
 
And, also, what Epic co-founder, Tim Sweeney, forgot to consider, is that Steam already has a monopoly, practically. Heck, many games you go at the store and buy, is nothing more than a Steam game key in the box, and a disk, where the is only Steam on it. You have to download and install the game through Steam. And, as gamers are conditioned to go to Steam for games, if a developer doesn't release their game on the platform (making Valve get a 30% cut of sales, including Valve forced sales, whether the devs agrees or not), the game won't sale well.

NetMarketShare’s latest numbers for January are out and shows that Windows 10 powered devices are continuing to grow at a steady paste. For those interested, it has officially surpassed Windows 8.1 and Windows XP. Windows 10 reached 11.85%, while Windows 7 is down from 60% in June 2015 to 52.47% in January 2016. Windows XP is at: 11.42%, and Windows 8.1 is now at 10.4%.

It is estimated that they are 200 million Windows 10 PCs, 19 millions XBox One running Windows 10, and 1 million Windows 10 Mobile devices.
