  1. Thought I solved it but NOPE. Just made it slightly less frequent for a few days. Time to toss the PC out the window.

  3. I know at this point I'm just talking to myself but i found out what fixed it for me if anyone has the same issue in the future All of these services should be started, and their startup type should be automatic. To check: 1. Go to start and type services.msc 2. Select services from the search list. o Computer Browser o DHCP Client o DNS Client o Network Connections o Network Location Awareness o Remote Procedure Call (RPC) o Server o TCP/IP Netbios helper o Workstation Or Try 1. Go to start and type cmd. 2. Right-click on cmd from the programs list and select “Run as administrator”. 3. Type ipconfig /flushdns. A message will appear saying that your DNS cache is cleared. Start Second Life. It should run fine this time. 4. Type ipconfig /registerdns

  5. After doing EVERYTHING with no success I had some Microsoft services tuned to manual that were not running problem was fixed by setting them to automatic and turning them on. I spent so many hours troubleshooting that I'm not even honestly sure what services I enabled to fix this. Sorry

  7. Good idea I will give this a try! Also thanks for eliminating the mismatched refresh rates as a possible issue.
  8. Delicieuxz is right! If you have the extra dough definitely buy the better card because it will last you longer but if your comparing the two for gaming right now at 1080p 60hz, the 1060 will be a better value because it can handle it and is cheaper. Also thanks for the info on Arma games I didn't know they were so CPU intensive.
  9. Okay, so I recently purchased a 144hz monitor and "Oh Boy" the difference it makes. I am very happy and everything except when I exit a 3D application (games and such) and go to my desktop or something 2D. It tends to flicker once or twice and then be okay for a little bit and then do it again. I solved the issue by going down to 120hz but I payed for a 144hz and would like the full thing. I know the difference between 120hz and 144hz is small and almost not noticeable I'm just kinda upset it doesn't work for what its advertised at. I have 2 monitors... Acer GN246HL (144hz) BenQ GL2460 (60hz) Could they be somehow conflicting with each other being different refresh rates?
  10. Didn't know the Canadian version was slightly more limited. Wish you luck in finding your card! Happy Hunting!
  11. I have a 1060 and you can pretty much set anything to ultra (excluding some notoriously hard to run titles..... dayZ I'm looking at you) and get 60 fps easy. I just bought a 144hz monitor and decided that lowering graphics settings for the extra fps will do me just fine. Overwatch is a VERY optimized game but as an example 60 fps on ultra is very consistent and easy for the 1060. In my opinion for 1080p 60hz gaming the 1060 is a much better deal than the 1070.
  12. Looks like they are currently out of stock but you can set up notifications and get an email or text message when one pops up. I used this site when I was camping 1060's.
  13. This website is pretty good for that- http://www.nowinstock.net/computers/videocards/nvidia/gtx1080/
  14. My bet is you should be able to at least hit 30 fps consistently, but it's hard to know for sure without hopping on and actually playing.
