Seems like no one is looking at the benefits. In a year there will a HUGE amount of used cards hitting the market! And they will be high end and cheap. Say what you will about mining cards, obviously they aren't stellar and not for everyone would want the risk but it drives down used market substantially even for the used non-mining cards. So you might not have a brand new AMD 580, but you may just be able to have 2 in a year for the same money as a new one today.

I think this a very good point and often overlooked by new ITX builders and manufacturers, most of my ITX is covered by a heatsink.. I have a full glass side panel but as you said its tinted. If i was going to do anything for visuals i think i would do those plastic I/o covers and decent looking heatsinks.

Build a linux based server of some sorts. That will make you learn both at the same time.

Imabigmac got a reaction from iamdarkyoshi in Anyone Run A Plex Server Through FreeNAS?
Well I run a small 1TB plex server with freenas with an old i3-2100, seems to be fine. Mind you I'am the only user ever streaming from it So not sure how it would fair with multiple streams. My guess is 2 high quality streams maybe 3 without issue. But I'm not to familiar with freenas and hardware usage myself.  Also the most my server ever does for me is downloading and playback at the same time. I think if you wanted to run VM's and or a a lot of streams having a proper quad core would be critical.

Plex is straight forward, many guides available to assist. Now getting things to download and sending stuff to right locations can get trick for first timers. It took me ages and finally a friend had to walk me through it.

Imabigmac got a reaction from LienusLateTips in Hey Canadians - Mobile Carrier Question
Telus is generally the better carrier for remoter regions of BC. At least in my experience. Rogers would be my next choice. However once you get out to Tofino and in the mountains reception isn't going to be astounding regardless. Unlimited data is kinda like unheard of in Canada unless you pay $$$$$.(which still is not unlimited)

Wave hello on your* way through Victoria headed to Tofino.

I think its the tire pressure but that loose bumper may be adding some drag.

So I finally bought a car. Its a 09 987.2 Porsche Boxster in "Porsche Racing Green" (essentially British racing green). I have a couple of cool modifications planned for it including green carbon mirrors (which I am in the process of buying the mirrors and the green candy paint). Also will have better pictures soon when it stops raining. The car looks a lot better when the sun is out.

Accidents are such flukes. I know some people who were going 80kmh, hit a ditch, jumped t he car into the air and hit a tree sideways. The car was a Toyota Hilux. Broken bones were their worst injuries. Though something like that could easily be fatal.

You guys talking about crash tests made me look some stuff for my 944, which has only one safety feature - Seat belts, nothing else. No airbags, etc.

    And I found this online;
"Hit a bump in the road doing 115mph and caught air then hit a tree and flipped a few times then slid 300 feet. i walked right out of the car with a fractured nose and a few cuts on my head."

It will mess up the warning system apparently, also the odometer is part of the speedometer so.
Just don't want to break a little plastic part, which why I'm hesitant.

ehh if you package it right it'll be fine. Just spend that little extra on packaging and have the people at the UPS store help you package it. That's what I do and they only charge a couple of $. It may even put responsibility on them... but I'm not sure about that

I know!! It's terrifying even with the right tools. you just get the feeling that they designed it where it's only supposed to be put together once and never again

With a new oil change (I didn't get the transAxle oil done like I wanted to) and despite my odometer not functioning I took the 944 and my GF to Tofino with some time off. Got some cool pictures of the car while there.

Others are in the spoiler, I don't want to make a mess of the thread.

It rains most of the time at night in the summer

I do plan to get some pretty dark tint somepoint this summer. Not only will it keep my car from looking like a fish bowl, but I won't stick to my interior when I get in
