Hi I have another possible dumb question about networking. 
 
Ive recently purchased an RE650 range extender and it works perfectly. However ive noticed that while all of the devices in my household including computers and smartphones have no issues connecting to its network, my Note 9 in particular always says that it cannot connect as it can't find an ip address. It Will eventually connect if I retry several times but its annoying to do so every day. Im aware of the many work arounds including setting a static ip address for my phone. 
 
However my question is that what are the possible negatives of doing so. Ive read several posts regarding the differences between static and dynamic addresses, but I still don't understand why my phone in particular has such an issue, and what possible issues I might face by setting only my phone to a static ip. Also if there aren't really any big issues, why aren't all phones set to a static ip to prevent this issue in the first place
 
Any responses are appreciated and Sry if this has been asked before. 
 
Edit: doesn anyone know how to permanently solve this issue at its core without having to do any work arounds cus I just dont get why my phone in particular has this problem.
