  1. everything is ok with this one except for this dumb texture. i try to ignore it but its always popping up. I would do the MSI but only their higher end models have an IPS panel and i kind of need that. Late night work and other issues make TN panels nearly unusable to me.
  2. any other opinions on this? im going to a best buy to see how a gl502vt is and to see if its worth the extra money but i really rather save here and see if this is ok.
  3. here are pics of what im talking about, it can be seen most when zoomed out a little in the below link but i embedded as well. and no i dont mean the obvious wavy lines that happen from a camera pic. It can be seen a lot in the top middle of the sky in the last pic http://imgur.com/a/8UWKt
  4. Kind of reminds me of RDRam or Rambus Ram. We had one intel computer with it and it was never spoken about again. When my dad referenced that computer all he could speak about was how expensive the ram was.
  5. Do you think this could be caused by a loose connection? This isnt hard black lines or a row of pixels being out/discolored. At times its a little like looking through a screen door. I rewatched some youtube videos and it is hard to tell but when you see it, you see it.
  6. So i font know if I received a bunk panel or if they are all like this. When looking at my screen i notice a fine verticle line/screen door like texture. I cant capture it in a picture but i do notice it . It shows the most on flat colored screens like the blue shut down screen of win 10 or on gradients of a single color,. ie when installing intel drivers the blue on the top of the window goes from med to light blue and it is very noticeable there. Although i have not tested any games i do notice it on youtube videos as well. Is this normal for this display or should i look to return it for another one? Thanks,
  7. if he is doing graphic design is he using the laptops display? bc if so he will need a good one.
  8. Just a fair warning, I have not heard the best stuff about cyber power pc or their customer service. I would get the Sager here as the price and specs are nearly the same to that one.
  9. I decided to go with the Asus g551vw. Its slightly older but the hardware is up to date. I also confirmed with a few other sources that it uses an IPS panel. Reason being is for the price its on sale for I can buy it, upgrade the memory to 16gb (if needed) and put in an SSD and still be under the price of other laptops.
  10. For $1k you can get a i7-6700HQ, 16gb ram and a 960m. the asus gl552vw is on amazon for $980 and is 90% the same. Differences are in the camera and better gpu. There is also a Sager with a 965m available right around $1k but you will need a windows install
  11. Good to know, ill price it out and see how it matches up. Ill also need a windows copy to install. I dont need the display to be color perfect but a bad display will drive me crazy. Think backlight bleed, colors crushing, bad ghosting or lag. I think most modern displays are past these issues but its good to ask.
  12. I have heard of Sager before but didnt put much attention into it, how is the keyboard/display. It seems lime its hard to find reviews on them
  13. no other input on this? any comments on build/screen/keyboard quality would be appreciated.
  14. you cant talk about a competitive advantage and say youre going to do 4:3 stretched. This will literally give you a smaller fov than playing in 16:9 and chop a significant amount off your screen. There are no FOV settings in csgo to change your actual view, only how the gun models look.
  15. Well yes, but i want to bounce it off others that know the laptop world better so im not actually picking one that will fall apart or wont fulfill my needs.
