  1. Hi there! So I'm looking for an internal USB ARGB controller that would add extra channels for me to more accurately control the rainbow vomit in my case. My motherboard is an Asus B650E-I and it only has a single 5v ARGB header so everything would have to connect to that and thus sync everything together. I know the Asus ROG Terminal exists but I can't seem to find that in stock anywhere in the UK. Are there any alternatives?
  2. Hi there! I'm trying to turn on HDR and Game Mode at the same time on my newly build Win 11 PC. I turned on game mode first, which worked fine, but then I tried to turn on HDR which stops the PC from outputting a display. Game mode's UI gives info on the current display settings and it says HDR isn't enabled and that the resolution is set to 720x480. There is no display being outputted when enabled. I can turn off game mode and the display will appear again but I want at least game mode on so I can turn on 144hz mode.
  3. Hi there! So I've got a problem where the fittings I'm using (XSPC 90 degree rotary fitting V2) are sticking out too much and are hitting the case's side panel so I need a smaller fitting. What is the smallest 90 rotary fitting that exists on the market? I know the EK micro rotary exists but are there smaller options? I think I need to shave like a good 8mm off the current fittings.
  4. I completely forgot about the extra 75W from the 16x connector... Probably gonna undervolt it anyway, i want to try and make it near silent
  5. Hi there! So I have a Thermalright PF3 750W PSU and an MSI RTX 3090 Trio (on a waterblock) and an AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D. I know the Nvidia website recommends a 750W PSU but the cables themselves is what concerns me, as it requires 3 x 8 pin PCIE connectors and I've heard of the 3090 pulling more than 300W of power. The PSU has 2 connectors on itself for PCIE cables that each split into 2 PCIE connectors. That's still only 300W of power. Is this going to be fine or should I return my PSU? There's also a 12VHPWR connector on the PSU but I can't find an adapter to convert it to PCIE ports. I'm in the UK if that helps.
  6. Would you say it's fine to get to the windows login screen and that's it or as soon as you see a boot logo, turn it off?
  7. ^ this. if your CPU is holding your system back, you upgrade it. If your GPU is holding it back, you upgrade it. Etc.
  8. Hi there! Just a quick question, if a GPU has a waterblock on it but it isn't hooked up to a loop, is it fine to start it to check if it works? Reason is I want to buy a used GPU that has a waterblock on it but the rest of my PC parts currently have no ETA on when it'll arrive so I'd like to use my friend's PC to test the GPU so I know if I need to return it or not. Head says it should be fine since the waterblock should soak some heat before it overheats.
  9. I think they'll have optimised it for current gen cards and not future cards so that they get as many people playing it as possible. Remember, PC isn't releasing in 2025 so it's more likely that'll come out 2026-27 and by then, we could have another 2 gens of GPUs. Whether or not it'll require mesh shaders support is another thing. I don't think it'll be a requirement but still be highly recommended bit like Alan Wake 2 but slightly better without it to keep compatability high.
  10. Should be fine. All the pins are making contact and you heard it click into place. Start it up! That GPU demands frames to render!
  11. Looks fine to me, does it display correctly?
  12. Oh, well I'm an idiot. I thought it was something that went inside the plug but it went around the entire connector. My initial assumption about daisy chaining the RGB seems to be correct!
  13. Hi there! So I got these fans and it has a 4 pin fan header, 3 pin RGB connector and this weird blocked off plug. I can't seem to take it off so I don't know why it's there. First thought is it's used for daisy chaining the fans RGB together since it's on the RGB wires but if I can't remove the plug, then idk. Any ideas?
  14. It's not a bad shout, it just that I think the 4070 series are wayyyyy overpriced currently, even with offers on rn. Hopefully the super cards bring the prices down but I doubt it A furnace might actually help me during this winter, it's really cold in my room
  15. Understood. Hence why I'm mainly looking at RTX 3000 and RX 6000. People with money and watercooled systems are probably selling their GPUs that already have the blocks on.
  16. But you see, A S T H E T I C That and the case with a radiator limits the thickness of the GPU, max you can have is 2 slots. Yes this is impractical and I would be better going air but I enjoy making things too much to not watercool it. I do it to myself
  17. Can't remember who I watched that talked about this (I think it was Linus on WAN show?) but it's not just as simple as "take a photo of the internals of a phone and be done" but more like "okay lets change this and this, maybe expose the copper here" etc. There's artistic liberties taken when making these skins to make them look better and ofc, Dbrand has their little easter eggs in them as well. It's the fact that Casetify just straight up copied and pasted them like-for-like is the reason why they're being sued.
  18. Budget (including currency): £500-600 Country: United Kingdom Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Destiny 2, Minecraft modded (Vault Hunters 3), SP games, Fusion 360 Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc): Hi there! So I snagged an SFFTime N-ATX V2 off eBay for cheap and decided now is the time to go back to regular old desktop gaming after using gaming laptops for 6 years now (current laptop is a Lenovo Legion 7 RTX 3080) and while it's good for portable gaming, it pretty much doesn't leave my room so going back to desktop makes sense for me. I also recently changed up my screens on my desk, going from a HP X34 (QHD Ultrawide) + BenQ 4K monitor to a Samsung QN90C 4K TV (using it in 3840x1600 mode) and it's starting to struggle a bit in some games. Not wanting to just make a regular small tower, I'm going for full custom hardline water-cooling cause why not. I'm selling my old monitors and this laptop to pay for this upgrade. (I had the two monitors setup mainly for my PS5 as well and after using it for a while, I found it tedious hence the change to the Samsung, it's sooo much less of a hassle to change stuff for what I want to use) I've already ordered the rest of the system like the CPU, motherboard, water-cooling stuff etc. so this budget is purely the GPU. While I could have ditched the customer watercooling and upped the budget for the GPU, I'm not happy with the price / performance of the current generation of GPUs at the top end and they barely went down during Black Friday so I kinda want this to be a temporary GPU until the next generation comes out so used is an option. I was looking at the RX 7800 XT initially but there's no waterblocks for them currently so that's out. Waterblocks for last gen GPUs are going cheap so picking one up shouldn't be much of an issue. I've seen some RTX 3090 go on eBay for around £600 and some RX 6900 XT for less than that so that might be good but I'm just not sure what to go for. PC parts already ordered / got - Ryzen 7 7800X3D 32GB 6400Mhz RAM Asus B650E-I Mobo Crucial P5 Plus 2TB + SanDisk Extreme Pro 2TB NVMe Phanteks Revolt 750W SFX PSU 360mm radiator + pump / res + fittings
  19. *laughs in Firefox* Although I bet the vast majority of people won't care about it though and keep using Chrome.
  20. That 40 CU APU is going to be a spicy chip, especially for super SFF builds. I wonder what's the max CU they could put in an APU...
  21. sigh Time for a new SSD I guess. At least the price of 2TB SSDs have gone down since I bought this one (I paid £220 for this one and now you can get gen 4 2TB SSDs for £90!) I'm thinking of getting the Crucial P5 Plus. I know I won't get any benefits of the Gen 4 speeds but I might make a desktop to replace my laptop so it'd be nice to just take the SSD out and get the speeds.
  22. I've had this drive for about 3 years now, is there seriously no fix for it?
  23. Hi there! Had this issue happen for a while now and just keeps randomly popping up. Except now it won't go away after I updated Windows. I have a Legion 7 laptop (R7 5800H, RTX 3080 16GB, 32GB 3200Mhz Crucial RAM) and it has 2 SSDs - the one that came with it and a 2TB Sandisk Extreme Pro that I put in from my old laptop. The Sandisk one is the one that has the issues. Device manager picks it up Task manager has the graphs for it And disk management sees it as well Whenever I open disk management after closing it, this appears Clicking OK after either option gives this error message I looked this up and it told me to use the CHKDSK utility but the drive doesn't appear in Windows so it doesn't work I then tried sfc /scannow and nothing... Please help, this was my game drive and I don't want to have to replace a 2TB SSD and then redownload another 1.5TB of games...
  24. With more and more chips needed per car as they get more tech heavy, it is a VERY good investment in the long term
