  1. Alright well I ended up with getting the Victus with the RTX 2050 and Ryzen 5 7535HS with 8GB RAM. The reason is that I had a pretty killer deal, only 450$ USD for it. The Acer Aspire 5 that I was originally looking at was all 500$ USD+. I guess I'll be able to do some light gaming if ever need to.
  2. I need a 15 inch laptop for generic everyday use (browsing, videos) and to run some BMW diagnostic software and little games if I ever need to leave my home for an extended period of time, games that don't really need a dedicated GPU like Worms, Lethal Company, Golf with friends, etc. So I don't need any crazy specs and I think modern day iGPUs are pretty decent to right. That said, I was still targeting for 16gb ram with a minimum Ryzen 5 CPU (or intel equivalent although I am team red now )just so overall the laptop is snappy. I hate when you get random freezes and things like that and in my experience, going for low performing CPUs despite not needing their power for my day to day tasks, tends to cause this as the hardware ages and time goes on and Windows updates. Oh and I want a backlit keyboard as well. I was really set on buying this LENOVO IdeaPad Slim 3 currently for 700$ CAD (521 USD$) with a Ryzen 5 7520U and 16gb RAM but I saw reviews that mention how bad the screen is despite being IPS, both in terms of brightness and color representation and that really threw me off considering that's the main thing the laptop is used for, watching videos and normal tasks. What other similar laptop models would you recommend in the price range? I would say my max budget is around 850$ CAD (633$ USD). I also saw a HP Victus which I know is a gaming laptop and I don't need it, but the price VS hardware seems pretty interesting and I like how it looks. If this is a good price/deal I might pull the trigger on it. It's 899$ CAD (670$ USD) and it has a Ryzen 5 5600H with a RTX 3050 Ti, 16gb RAM. On the plus side, this would allow me to play most of my games away from home if I ever.
  3. i disagree completely. I've watched plenty of videos and read posts and it's a perfectly acceptable mount location. In fact my temperatures are overall better with it in front when I did my testing.
  4. I was blowing out my PC and cleaning dust when I realised my current setup is giving negative air pressure seeing how I had dust collect in holes/areas where there is no fan (like the side rails in the front filter). I have a Corsair 4000X case with 3 intake fans in the front and my h100i 240mm rad is front mounted to in front. I then have 2 exhaust in the top and 1 in rear. Now I was thinking of just making my 2 top exhaust fans into an intake but I'm a bit worried this might cause turbulence maybe and was wondering what anyone's input was before pulling the trigger as I'll need to re-route my wiring to.
  5. Sorry I edited my comment. I take back what I wrote actually sorry, either you are really a horrible human being or just a young naive and immature person still in highschool. The legal system doesn't need to be involved everywhere. You are aware you can be legally not guilty of something but still be guilty of the action you done.... you realise that right? It's irrelevant to the point. And how is it pointless and harmful? If what she says is 100% true but they cannot prove it in court, how the F is it pointless to air it out and let the truth be out there? Do you understand what it takes to pursue legal matter and how much money it cost? Of course you don't or else you wouldn't be writing such comments. I used to think like you when I was a kid a few years back but now I've matured and learned a lot about life. The system is rigged against you in the first place for most things.
  6. Wrong. If you break X laws I will come share my issues that you are breaking X las with you. Yes I will be respectful but to come and not cite the laws you are breaking for whatever reason is complete insanity. That is 100% the approach you take, you start a dialogue and mention what the issues are. Any other way is you submitting to your boss and to not call him out. That's pathetic. You really want to let yourself get stepped on and have people treat you like a slave? Idk who or what brainwashed you into thinking this is not OK but man oh man this is sad to read.
  7. Well turns out that was it. My CPU was bottlenecking hard. Old post but wanted to update if everyone find my thread. Upgraded to a 7800X3D and I can run pretty much everything at max 1080p. I love it.
  8. Old post but just wanted to confirm my issue. the CPU was indeed bottlenecking at 1080p. Upgraded to a 7800X3D and I can run pretty much everything at max 1080p. I love it.
  9. Well a lot of people want to share their thoughts no matter the side you support. I logged back on my account for this reason alone.
  10. Agreed it's really insane. And then people wonder why people are so afraid to come out and call it out. This community made a kid and his mother kill themselves because of how ruthless the harassment and bullying was. It's really scary how humans can act.
  11. Man I had to log in to reply to this. Then you have a shit boss that doesn't care about you. I don't understand why as a boss you think they should be above the law and not follow regulations..? If something is being broken by your boss you 100% come to them with the issue they are breaking like hello? What am I reading right now. Man am I so darn happy to work for the federal government instead for a company that views me as a slave in this capitalist hellhole.
  12. I'm really not sure. I'm trying to post in other places to gather info but no one seems to know either. Steve at Gamers Nexus mentioned the word "degraded" in regards to the chip and performance so I am pretty worried. I guess I'll open a ticket with AMD to. I definitely ran my machine for a good week or 2 before the fix came out.
  13. Hey all. So I'm facing an odd issue here. When I first did my build with the new 7800X3D everything was great. Now since few days ago, if I play my game on my monitor 1 and have a livestream for example or even just discord on my second screen, the FPS of monitor 2 is very choppy. Even when plugging my VR headset now without even launching any games, both my monitors will be choppy and clearly under 30 FPS. I suspect it could be a previous BIOS update because as we know, the X3D voltage issue has been going on and ASUS has seem to have released 3 BIOS since which I've updated to avoid my CPU burning. But now I'm suspecting maybe my CPU got damaged because I recall smelling a particular smell under load. Anyways maybe I'm just grasping at straws here and maybe someone else has noticed something similar?
  14. EDIT: I had made this (now deleted) post in reply to DildorTheDecent asking about which BIOS update was correct one. OP double check as I thought I was on the good one. ASUS just just came out with one for my board a few mins ago, wasn't showing up this morning when I made original post. You should have a new beta BISO update version 1412. It is NOT the non beta one that is in date of the 21st that I had (which is what I thought was the fix BIOS). It should clearly state in the changes "SoC voltage for Ryzen 7000X3D series limited to a maximum of 1.30V to protect the CPU and motherboard."
  15. Manual way works pretty well and is very user friendly. You can put the file on your flash drive, boot into BIOS and use the interface to use the update tool. Or like MisterCrow says you can do a flashback update that doesn't even require monitor input.
  16. Holyyyy this improved it a lot! Hit the BIOS boot screen at 17 seconds and was fully in Windows at 31 seconds. Thanks!
  17. Oh yeah I did a fresh install with this new hardware.
  18. Hey everyone. I upgraded my CPU to a 7800x3d and of course had to change motherboard (ASUS b650 gaming plus wifi) and get some DDR5 RAM (Corsair vengeance 16GB DDR5 RAM (32GB (2x16GB) 5600MHz C36). My issue is that with this new setup, my boots are much slower than before. I just timed it and it's a total of 58 seconds until I hit the windows lock screen. Before it was much quicker, at most 30 to 40. Also it takes 40 second alone just to see the BIOS boot logo. I noticed during the first 20 seconds, the Q-LEDS for my MOBO shows that it hangs on the RAM. Also for context, my OS is on a Samsung EVO plus m.2 Is this normal? I was reading a bit how it seems to be slower for the first boot for some kind of RAM learning process with zen 4 but I'd say my boot ups has always been the same time since the start. Idk if maybe something is up with my MOBO? I unforutnely cannot return it as I got it on sale 2 months ago waiting for the 7800x3d so idk if I should start a ticket with ASUS and might be a waste of time, figured I would check with others here first.
  19. Tried another game here. GTA V and GPU ~ 70% like I'll sometimes dip to under 60 but overall around 75-80 FS.
  20. I just tried with Far Cry 6 and GPU hits 70% idk. Wouldn't that mean a better CPU translate to more FPS?
  21. Not just squad. I just feel like my CPU has never been on par with my GPU. Surely other CPUs are worth it if they exist? I feel my CPU isn't on par with my GPU.
  22. It's just I missed the X3D boat just now so I figured I'd do it right this time around. And I'll have a proper motherboard. It's perfect upgrade path IMO. I have a hard time hitting 60 FPS sometimes in Squad in 1080p I'm sure the better CPU will help?
