  1. As of late my fps has dropped compared to what it used to be before. I used to have fps very similar to this video: But recently with the same settings used in this video (which are the same settings I used when I still got high fps) I don't even get a stable 30 fps. Using msi afterburner I saw that the GPU is at 100% at all times during gaming while the processor doesn't go much higher than 45%. I have not overclocked this graphics card. These are the parts I got: Motherboard: Asus P8Z77-V with bios version 2104 CPU: Intel Core i7-3770k OC at 4,5GHz Ram: 2 sticks of 4GB ddr3 Kingston hyperX genesis gray series 1866mhz Graphics card: xfx Rx 470 black edition 4gb Monitor: LG 29UM68-P 2560x1080 Thanks for any help in advance!
  2. I recently got a new motherboard, CPU and Ram combo second hand but when I got home I realized the Ram was running in single channel. I reconfigured it to run in dual channel but after that, the PC wouldn't boot. I have a mem_ok button on my motherboard but that didn't work either. But when I put the Ram back in single channel the PC worked fine again. These are the parts I got: Motherboard: Asus P8Z77-V with bios version 2104, CPU: Intel Core i7-3770k and Ram: 2 sticks of 4GB ddr3 Kingston hyperX genesis gray series 1866mhz. I did also try running dual channel with 2 slower 2GB sticks which did work. I am running the CPU at stock. Any idea what it could be or how it could be fixed? Thanks in advance!
  3. I'm going to look for a higher quality PSU but if the problem is actually the ram or motherboard it won't be a problem as I am looking to upgrade my mobo, CPU and RAM anyway. When AMD Ryzen drops that is. Thanks for the tips!
  4. I ran both Furmark at 4k 8xmsaa and the Furmark CPU burn for a few minutes before the PC started stuttering and eventually bleu-screening. meanwhile watching the temps monitored by both SpeedFan and OpenHardwareMonitor and temps stayed below 70C on all components including CPU, GPU, Motherboard chipset and VRM's. and yes my system is dust free.
  5. I am having a bit of a problem with my PC as of late. When I start to play games on it or run benchmarks the PC will start to stutter and glitch until it eventually freezes completely or even shuts down. the stuttering keeps going after the game is stopped until the system is shut down. Sometimes the problem doesn't occur at al, sometimes after a few hours of gaming and sometimes immediately after booting up a game. The problem doesn't occur when the PC is only under a small load like watching videos. Temps under load are around 60C on both GPU an CPU My system was originally a prebuild HP but I got a new power supply got a new case, some ram and a new videocard. The specs are: Intel Core i7-920 2.66 GHz (no OC), 3x 2gb ddr3 ram sticks and 1 4gb ddr3 ram stick, a Pegatron motherboard know as IPMTB-TK or Truckee, an XFx rx470 black edition, a 500gb WD blue HDD, and a fairly old köning 550watt PSU, +3.3V 30A+5V 40A+12V 20A-12V 0.5A+5VSB 2.0A I'm also running 1 120mm fan from a motherboard fan header and another 4 120mm fans directly from the power supply via molex connectors. Thanks in advance!
  6. I just realized those temps are not the CPU but for the motherboard chipset... that's kinda stupid. my motherboard doesn't have a heat sensor at that spot so it shows 99 Degrees. but if the temperature isn't the problem for the fan maxing out what could it be? Maybe the 4-pin fan header is broken? ( changing fan speed in SpeedFan doesn't do anything either. both with and without automatic fan speed turned on.)
  7. There is thermal paste on the CPU and the air coming out of it is warmer than surrounding air. I am using a tower heatsink with 3 heat pipes and a single fan in the middle. It's an AVC cooler. I checked MSI afterburner which said al 8 threats and the package were below 40 degrees celsius at idle. So I'm not sure if the temperature sensor is broken. I did also check the bios for any fan options but it doesn't seem to have any.
  8. My CPU fan is constantly maxed out on max rpm right from boot up. I checked OpenHardwareMonitor to check the temps and it showed: Temp#1 34,1 °C, Temp#2 99,0 °C , Temp#3 30,3 °C. I don't think the CPU is actually hitting 99 °C considering both Temp#1 and #3 are below 40 °C. Also, Temp#1 and #3 both change about 0,1 °C up and down every few seconds while Temp#2 is staying at precisely 99 °C and not moving one bit. How do I fix this? Please help! My CPU is an Intel Core i-7 920 at 2.66 Ghz
  9. I am getting the rx470, I'd rather have 1gb more vram than about a 10% fps increase.
  10. Where I live both the 4gb RX470 and the 3gb GTX1060 are priced the same, Both the RX480 and GTX 1060 6gb are about 300 euro and I cant affort to spend more than 220 on a new graphics card so it wil be a choice between the 470 and 3gb 1060. which one should I get? I want to play AAA games at 1080p 60hz. Thanks in advance Specs of the system I will be installing the graphicscard into: Intel Core i-7 920 2.66 Ghz 12gb RAM 550Watt PSU Pagetron Motherboard 120gb SSD 620gb 7200rpm HDD And the ati hd5770 which I will be replacing.
  11. Maybe Assassin's Creed 3 detects your APU IGPU as your primairy graphics driver, maybe check the AMD Control Centre? I used to have a problem like that with Farcry 3 Blood Dragon, it would always try to run on my Intel HD graphics instead of on my dedicated Nvidia graphics card until I changed some settings in the Nvidia Control Panel.
  12. I'm looking to play these games at 60hz at 1080p.
  13. I am thinking about upgrading my graphics card to a RX 470 but I'm not sure if my core i7-920 at 2,66 ghz, 4 cores with hyper threating will be a bottleneck. Or at least a noticable one. Sadly my motherboard doesn't support overclocking so that isn't an option. Iam looking to play recent games like Fallout 4, Just Cause 3, Bf1 and Rise of The Tomb Raider. Thanks in advance,
  14. I currently run a hd5770 in my pc and would love to upgrade to anything that can increase the performence of my pc.
