  1. So I got a problem for quite some time now. So what's the problem? While playing games the sound disappears for a short period of time (a couple of seconds) every half an+ hour (roughly). The thing is it's not really consistend. For example I dont have the problem in CS:GO and it's my most played game but in close to every other game it happens. And only in games I guess considering that it also never happs when I listen to music or watch videos on Youtube. I'm using the Focusrite Scarlet 2i2 and I made sure that I have the newest drivers installed. Besides that I'm not sure what else to look at. Would appreciate some help
  2. Edit: my bad wrong forum please delete thanks
  3. I only follow jonny guru when it comes to PSUs and the CSM is a decent PSU. Did they change anything?
  4. http://uk.pcpartpicker.com/list/YVXQPs That's like the cheapest I would go. Overall I would say invest in an i5-6500 which will overall cost you 650£. If you need windows you will need to buy that as well. Peripherals are up to preference. If you want a good cheap mouse check out the G402. Mechanical keyboard or not? Headset suggestion Kingston Cloud 2. What games does he play besides triple A titles? Does he play FPS games like CS or League? If yes get a cheap 144Hz monitor if not a 60Hz one is enough.
  5. Considering he plans on playing on 1080p with a 60Hz monitor I dont think there is that much sense in a 1070. Edit: If you wanna go future proof and maybe upgrade your monitor in 2-3 years it might be worth it just saying. Solid build. The only thing where minds will be split is the A-Data SSD. Heard good stuff, also bad stuff. Never had one myself though.
  6. Personally I would get a newer SSD with 120/128GB but yeah really good build for 1k so I second that.
  7. Overall good build. You can upgrade to 16GB memory and get the GTX 1060. Shouldnt cost you more than 500 CAD tbh. Maybe get a high quality PSU like the Corsair RM550x for like 100 CAD.
  8. How exactly is the RX 480 better than the GTX 1080? Also a 120mm rad for a 6700K isnt really the best option since you lose out on a lot of performance. Just investing 40 bucks more into a 240mm rad is the best option. And in case he goes with the 1080 I would go with either a 1440p or 4K monitor. Otherwise why even get the 1080? In case he stays with 1080p the monitor is good and he would need at most a 1070. Other than that the build looks fine.
  9. Definitly get a 240mm rad like the H100i v2 if you wanna overclock your CPU which I guess you plan on doing since you wanna buy the K version. PSU seems fine imo as you wanna stay somewhere around 50-80% power usage and with the 6700K and the 1080 under full load (which probably never happens but just in theory) you will probably need somewhere around 550W for the system. You can go for a 650W PSU which will overall be more efficient but the difference is rather small the 750W is more future proof in case you wanna upgrade later on. It's up to you. And regarding ASUS: well never had any problems with their products so I cant even argue about the customer service. Currently using the 1080, Strix X99 and the PG279Q from them. No problems. If you are willing to spend 50 bucks more on a SSD get the 850 EVO. If you have plans of upgrading in the future go for it. Even if you dont plan as of now it's at least future proof in that regard.
  10. If you are only going for gaming the 6600K is your best option atm If you wanna go future proof the 6700K is your best option More than enough. You could probably get a cheaper one like the H100i v2 if you are going with the 6600K. I would get a different PSU. Options would be something like: XFX TS 550 XFX XTR 550 Seasonic G 550 Corsair RMx 550 to name a few that should be below 100€ Also is there a need for 480GB SSD? Wouldnt a 240GB SSD + 1TB HDD be better?
  11. Oh under Aida64 CPUID it says the right overclock. I was looking at Motherboard -> CPU on the left bar. Alrighty I guess it works as intended then. Thanks for all the help
  12. CPU-Z says 4.375GHz (just like Realbench) while Aida64 says 4.125GHz (like Windows and Cinebench)
  13. I'm pretty sure I deactivated CPU boost in the BIOS. Will check in a sec. CPU-Z also stats 4.375GHz btw. So I just downloaded CPU-Z just to be sure. DRAM Frequency is 1500MHz but in the BIOS "Target DRAM Frequency" is 3000MHz. I'm not sure what NB Frequency is in CPU-Z (which is 3000MHz). Edit: I just read that for the actual memory speed you have to double the memory frequncy from CPU-Z because DDR = double data rate In case this is true the DRAM is fine just wanted someone to confirm this for me Edit2: Seems like Cinebench gets the info from Windows and Windows doesnt show the correct overclock. Every other programe shows the right overclock so I guess I will just let it go.
  14. So I'm kinda confused right as I'm currently trying to overclock my PC. My processor is overclocked to 4.375GHz currently. Realbench and Aida64 both have this number but Windows and Cinebench both stat 4.13GHz and I'm not really sure as to why this is. Also confusing for me is that Aida64 and Realbench stat that my memory is at 1500MHz while in the BIOS it is on 3000
