@Jacob_1999 Not sure if this is what you found, but I did my own light googling and it looks like this is exactly what RTX VSR does. I'll have to test it out after I'm done playing with robots tonight.

If you could use a GPU to smooth out the banding/blockiness of shadows and dark scenes while streaming TV that would be fantastic Edit: Also I've considered buying a few movies (like Dune) on Blu-ray specifically to fix this issue.

To everyone who said two graphics cards "just work", you were absolutely correct. There was one usb header cable I had to move from the bottom of the board to the port by the sata ports, and windows needed to reboot once to see the second card, but other than that pretty easy.

I finished the GTX 1080 to RTX 4070 upgrade build, and it almost turned the Points Per Day into Points Per 3 hours

Same for the 1080, but my numbers at noon were only slightly higher than normal This 1080 is a workhorse for the games I normally play (Forza Horizon and Motorsport, The Division, constantly going back to the first Borderlands). The only reason I'm considering an upgrade is for Starfield, but I'm already at 80 hours playing on 1440p low settings.

First question is for those who can predict the future. I would say thanks in advance, but you already know. Should I wait for black Friday sales to get a 4070 ti or 4080, or wait even longer for 50 series cards to be released? Second (real) question for anyone running two different cards in one rig, would running a 40x0 and 1080 be difficult to setup? I currently have an i7-6700K and 1080. Eventually I'd like to get a 7800X3D and at least a 4070, but I'm thinking about getting the GPU soon and just throwing it into the current rig.

I recently won a LEPA Exllusion 240 Liquid CPU Cooler, but I already have a corsair cooler on my cpu. Would it be beneficial to use this cooler on my GTX 1080 G1 Gaming card? I've seen people do this with reference cards and a bracket, but I'm not sure if I should do this, or just sell the cooler and use the money elsewhere. My problem is when I turn my computer on I get a "display out of range" prompt. If I go through the UEFI first, then click 'save and exit' it boots to windows at the right resolution and refresh rate. How can I fix this? Why are newer racing games moving away from the player owning and upgrading cars? One of my favorite parts of older Forza games was buying a slower car, and upgrading it into something with some decent power and handling. I have read that in forza 6 you can own cars, but can't upgrade them. Forza 6 Apex is even worse, since you just unlock cars, not buy them. I like the idea of having "my garage" with "my cars" in it, not just picking a car from a list.

What is the real difference between the Gigabyte GTX 1080 G1 Gaming and Gigabyte GTX 1080 Windforce? I see that the clock speed is a bit higher on the G1, but is that the only real difference?
