Cards are the same except maybe color.

Sapphire will offer the best qarranty service. Id recommend picking those.

Jon Jon reacted to i_build_nanosuits in My opinions on VR in it's current state, should YOU buy into it?
Latest Oculus update 1.39 completely fixed EVERY tracking related issues...now it's phenomenal, it works even better than my CV1 with 3 sensors...it's EPIC. @Jon Jon
You can now put your hands anywhere close to your head and face and it tracks 100%...pavlov and onward never felt that good.
It went from crappy and barely useable to flawless tracking across the board in no time flat...thanks OCULUS!

Jon Jon got a reaction from Ben17 in AMD Ryzen 7 1700X/1800X or Ryzen Threadripper 1900X
I would NOT get an entry level Threadripper for this unless you get the 1950X.

I was in the same boat until I learned:

1900X = 2 Ryzen 3 Dies strapped together via Infinity Fabric
1920X = 2 Ryzen 5 Dies strapped together via Infinity Fabric
1950X = 2 Ryzen 3 Dies strapped together via Infinity Fabric

There are also weird issues you can encounter when gaming, which actually gives you worse performance than if you just got a Ryzen 7.

I can run OBS Studio and game with no problems with my OC Ryzen 7 1700.

You have 24 lanes with the X370 chipset.

    In my setup:

    16 lanes for GPU
    4 Lanes for M.2
4 Lanes for Misc. other slots and typical I/O.

I will be honest and state that I am unsure of how the remaining are divided up, but I will say that if you aren't running M.2, then you shouldn't be thinking about your PCI-E Lane usage.

Jon Jon reacted to Princess Luna in GTX 1650 vs RX 570 for Adobe Premiere Pro
Premiere Pro OpenCL support is atrocious, the GTX 1650 will outperform it easily.

If one wants to insist on OpenCL for Video Editing hardware acceleration they should use Vegas Pro which has a real support for it.

Very sharp. 60hz doesn't bother me at all really. Just needs a HDMI and USB 3 connection.

The only problem is that it needs to be set up every time otherwise there's tracking issues, but other than that it's really sharp image. 1920x2160 per eye.

If I picked Launch in VR (Oculus) from steam the games would usually be fine.
I am using the DCS World stand alone client so it wasn't tied to steam in that case and it's supposed to support Oculus natlively as I've been using it since DK2.

The Pimax isn't bad (for the kickstarter price). The resolution still isn't quite enough to read all the gauges in the planes but the extra FOV makes it much easier to check behind you with peripheral vision without having to turn all the way around in your seat.

I'm hoping the 2160x2160 res of the HP Reverb or the Acer prototype are finally clear enough to do it but losing the FOV will be a major down side.

If you want an all around upgrade from your CV1, you're probably going to want to look into Valve's index once it comes out.
It should be better in just about every way (except price)
There are other HMD that have better visuals than the CV1 but the tracking is way worse so unless you are mostly into sims the CV1 is probably where you want to stay for now.

That's my logic as well. The existing RTX cards should show nice discounts as retailers try to clear stock.

I'd say to go for it now.

I don't think Vega 56 will drop further in price than it already has. Here in the US, They've been consistently at $300, with some of the air blowers going for $269.

I think it is either you buy it now at their current prices, or run the risk of them leaving the market like we saw with Pascal.

This is a boring answer, but there are new GPUs launching within the next month or two and therefore odds are the best value GPUs will rapidly change after those launches as better products come to market and older products get discounted.

Sleeping Dogs Definitive Edition is at a historic low price of just $1.99(90% Off) right now on Steam. 15,050 Very Positive reviews.

The Definitive Edition basically did some very minor graphical improvements and includes ALL the DLC for the game.

Bedlam is at a historic low price of just $0.64(95% Off) right now on IndieGala. Steam link... Bedlam. 256 Mixed reviews.

This game is provided via Steam key, so be sure to snag it. I'm a HUGE fan of Bedlam and it's a very underrated and overlooked game imo.

I might as well go ahead and mention that a bunch of Eidos games are back to historic low prices. Not all of them are at historic lows, but most of them are. Follow this Eidos Anthology link to view all the games at their current prices. I wish Rise of the Tomb Raider was $5.99 like it shows but it's only that price when you buy this bundle. Don't buy this bundle, better to pick and choose the games you want. If you don't already own them, here are the deals that are worth it imo...

Kabounce is FREE right now on Steam. It's yours to keep when you get it before Jun 24th @ 1:00pm.

It was updated today and it's now got different game modes.

Parkour, Gauntlet and Race The Sun to name a few.

Jon Jon reacted to ImAlsoRan in Rift S vs Rift CV1
The Rift S is built for people who don’t have a desktop to run VR, and more of the cost of the headset goes towards computational power, leaving less room for tracking or screen quality.

Maybe it is a VRAM limitation?

I can't seem to think of a reason why it would dip in those specific scenes otherwise.

Also, day one game pass games.

Honestly, I like the idea of paying $5-$10 a month to have continued access to brand new games. If I really want to own it, then I will buy it like I do with other games that I want to own physical copies of.

It's a really good deal overall.

It's even better if you have both Console and PC.

I just signed up for the $1/mo intro, and they converted my remaining XBL Gold sub into Game Pass Ultimate at no charge, and gave me an extra 3 months for free. So now I have Game Pass Ultimate for $1 that lasts until November.

There's like 250 games in Xbox, plus whatever is on PC as well. And the Xbox selection includes some damn good games.

I think the selection is fine for a $1 first month beta.

Honestly, I don't understand the complaints here.

I pay for Humble Monthly, Netflix, Youtube Red, etc., and this is just another service to get me some more content.

I think people forget the value of money and find odd reasons to complain.

It's in BETA, and it's only $1 fright now and then $5 until it is out of beta. It is letting me enjoy some games that I wouldn't otherwise want to really pay a full price for or care to have forever. It's worth mentioning that any Microsoft published title will be on the service.

This is Microsoft's new model. They've seen great success doing it with Office 365, so it only makes sense they would push it hard for gaming as well. Xbox is just a gaming service now, not just a dedicated piece of hardware.
