  1. I found this computer for sale on Craigslist for $500. Owner says he's only had it for 3 weeks. The PSU and motherboard seem to be the only parts I'm sketched out by. https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16883101473 Will be used for 1080p gaming and some video editing Thanks for any help!
  2. When waking the PC up from sleep, the CPU and case fans will fully rev up and the computer will not begin startup until I force it to shutdown/start back up. I have double checked my RAM seating, cable connections and sleep settings to no avail. Any help is appreciated! Partslist: https://pcpartpicker.com/list/G7YtLD
  3. They are dual function keys where I have to hold fn to change the volume and such. It is just annoying that it takes 2 hands to do that
  4. Anyone know how to change the function keys to adjust volume/brightness rather than the F1-F12 keys? I didn't find any options in the BIOS or on the keyboard itself. Thanks for any help! *ASUS ZenBook UX305UA if that helps*

  6. I already have a 24'' ASUS VG248QE monitor, and am looking into getting a 2nd display. Should I get another VG248QE for the sake of uniformity, or get some 24'' 1440p IPS monitor for content? Thanks for any help!
  7. I found an old Compaq PC and am wondering if it would even be possible to upgrade it or worth it. I'd love to be able to just throw some cheap parts into it and have a secondary PC to play low end games on. If not, is anything worth selling? Thanks for any help! 8. I found this build on my local Craigslist for $550, which seems to be a steal, but I'm hesitant to buy it seeing that it is in pieces and the pretty low price. He offered to set it up to verify that it works. What should I look for/be wary of? Is it worth the shot? PCPartPicker: https://pcpartpicker.com/list/wVMyZ8 Thanks for any help!
  9. I haven't submitted an RMA yet, as EVGA is on holiday break. Should I really just turn off the ASUS protection and leave it at that?
  10. Recently my PC has been giving me this error message upon powering up. The PC also occasionally freezes while I am playing Titanfall 2, but no other games. I am pretty sure my 550w PSU is adequate for my computer, but maybe I'm wrong. Any help/advice is appreciated! (the photo attached is not from my PC) Since the problems occur while playing TF2, would turning down the video settings help? Part list: https://pcpartpicker.com/list/G7YtLD
  11. Nice catch! Didn't see that. Do you think an IPS display is something worth paying more for, in addition to the other differences?
  12. I will be starting college next week and have been researching laptop choices. I have narrowed down my laptop search to these 2 below. I don't necessarily have a budget, but would like to get the best laptop for my money. It will be used for schoolwork, web browsing and entertainment. ASUS F556UA-AS54 - https://www.amazon.com/F556UA-AS54-15-6-inch-Full-HD-Laptop-Windows/dp/B01CGGOUJM/ref=pd_rhf_pe_p_img_1?ie=UTF8&psc=1&refRID=BCCNDJT92KH94SFF3C70 ASUS ZenBook UX305UA - https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01BMERZJ6/ref=psdc_565108_t1_B01GHQOD8U These 2 have all the same specs hardware wise (i5-6200u, 256GB SSD, 8GB DDR3) but they differ in their construction. The F55UA ($530) is plastic with a 15" screen and 1" thickness weighing 5LBS. On the other hand, the Zenbook UX305UA ($750) is aluminum with a 13" screen and 0.5 thickness weighing only 3LBS. What it comes down to is if I'm willing to pay an extra $200 for a sleeker/lighter computer at the cost of a smaller screen. Any help/thoughts are appreciated! Edit: Forgot to add that the Zenbook has an IPS display vs the F55's LED display
  13. Building my first PC and have been pointed in the direction of the RX 480. Unfortunately this card is unavailable everywhere I look.
