So, I built my PC a while ago, and I have had this problem the entire time. Occasionally, when I shut down my computer, it loses all power, and resets all the BIOS stuff back to default. All the lights on my Motherboard go out. The main way I can tell it happened is if the RGB light on my motherboard goes back to red (I have it set to Blue right now). The past two times it has done this (But never before then), the display freezes on the "Press F2 or Delete to enter UEFI BIOS" screen, and I can't access the BIOS menu. I then have to hold the power button and turn it off, then turn it back on again. It loses all power when I turn it off. My specs are as follows:
Asus Maximus VIII Hero motherboard
Intel i7 6700K
32 GB DDR4 2133 memory, 4 x 8GB
GTX 1080 Founders Edition
EVGA 750W Platinum Power Supply
Corsair H110i CPU Cooler
Samsung 250 GB SSD (Boot)
WD Blue 1 TB HDD (Mass Storage)
Windows 10 (64 bit)
Another side note which may be helpful: When it freezes on boot, it gets stuck on the "A2" Q-Code. According to the user manual, this means "IDE Detect."
As far as I can tell nothing too bad is happening, it's just annoying to have to keep changing the LED color. Any help is appreciated!
Thanks in advance!
Danny.
