  1. Dunno if it helps but I ended up buying a Corsair Commander Pro since I already had a corsair mouse and kb Best thing I did, I can now control the fans from iCue and even have different profiles per app
  2. Mobo: Asus z370i I use speedfan to control all the fans on my pc including GPU aio to link it to GPU temp. All of a sudden it stopped working and gets stuck on "Scanning ISA BUS at $0290..." if I reinstall it it sometimes works again for a couple hours then stops again Any ideas? googling didnt get me anywhere
  3. Im not just throwing cash at the problem, most of the stuff from the original build was 2ndhand buys which I got good deals on and the I basically got the 1080ti for free. Thats why I'm putting a bit of cash into the system which I saved from the gpu upgrade to get the most performance out of it. And ofcourse im going to be selling the mobo+cpu if I upgrade which means I will be adding arround £200-£250 for the upgrade. My only concern on going for the full 8700k is temps on a 120mm AIO currently the r5 1600x runs at arround 70c while gaming and idles at 40-50c, I would be comfortable with delidding it which I know reduces temps quite dramatically. So this is where im at 8700 or 8700k, I can get them 2ndhand for about £50 cheaper which I might aswell get if I will throw warranty out with delidding.
  4. I built my PC about 4months ago CPU: R5 1600x @3.8Ghz 1.263v Cooler: Corsair H60 120mm Mobo: Gigabyte Ab350-n gaming wifi GPU: RX580 Strix 8gb PSU: 600w ST60F RAM: Adata xpg z1 16gb 2933Mhz Case: Silverstone RVZ01-e However from selling my rx580 and getting a good deal I upgraded to a 1080ti. Now I feel like my cpu is holding back my gpu in games (mostly PUBG but also AAA games) running at 1440p ultrawide @100hz on an Acer X34. Now my question is, is an upgrade to an i7-8700 going to free up the bottleneck on the cpu? Also would the temps be more/less the same? I chose the 8700 because my case is a RVZ01-E so I am limited on cooling to the H60 and dont think it'll be able to handle a 8600k/8700k. So bearing this in mind I would pair the 8700 with a Asus strix B360-I, any thoughts?
  5. Just put together my rig, when playing youtube videos in chrome cpu fan keeps changing speed and makes annoying noises (bequite silent wings 3) I've attached a graph of cpu temp and cpu usage is this normal? temps fluctuate between 47-57 and can go as high as 61, CPU: Ryzen 5 1600x @ 3.8Ghz 1.263v Cooler: Silverstone NT06-Pro with a bequite silent wings 3 Case: Silverstone RVZ01-E
  6. Wow, thank you for the very detailed reply. I do intend to mount the rad+fan to the 120mm "CPU exhaust" Just measured it in at 87mm. When mounting a rad should the rad be mounted to the case then the fan on the other side or should the fan be sandwiched between the case and rad?
  7. I currently run a Ryzen 5 1600 OC to 3.6Ghz which is being cooled by a "Scythe big Shuriken 2" with a noctua 120mm fan on it. incased in a "Silverstone RVZ01-E" and on gaming I get a max of 65c. Do you guys think the SilverStone TD03-Slim, which is the only AIO I can find that will fit in the case, would be worth the upgrade? What kind of temp improvements if any can I expect. I have a Rx 580 Strix which goes up to 73c on games, thats with 2 15mm fans infront of it if that matters,
  8. Also make sure you're running the ram at the right speeds, since default speeds will be slower. You might also want to try undervolting your rx580 for energy savings and lower temps at the exact same performance.
  9. These are the same specs I'm running on now in a Silverstone RVZ01-E, and a Mx300 500gb m.2 SSD. An SSD would be priority number one in a system like this even a 128gb one for your OS and games
  10. So I just find a ram kit that has samsung b dies?
  11. Im going to build a machine with the Gigabyte AB350N-gaming which has RGB fusion And I found a cheap asus rx580 strix. Will I be able to use the RGB on the videocard with the gigabyte board? I dont care about being in sync or anything because the only visible thing from the outside will be the video card
  12. I only went with flare X because I know it wont have issues with ryzen, Several people ran into problems with the PNY ram random bluescreens etc I'll go for the silverstone psu only £20 more and its fully modular thanks
  13. I would but my monitor is freesync, unless it isnt a big thing. Never tried it before
