  2. Update: I didn't go past 7ghz on 1.24 volts, temps seem to be fairly ok, 85 max when stress testing with Intel Extreme Tuning Util. I was actually trying to find out if there's a comprehensive guide on the bios setting on the z97 rog boards. I've yet to find an OC guide on 4970k that covers other settings as well. If anyone knows, please let me know. Thanks again!
  3. I built my new comp http://pcpartpicker.com/user/dartleg13/saved/pGKG3C and I need help OCing the CPU. I did some stock stress tests with prime95 (only changed memory fq to the rated 1600) and the temps are really high (in the 90s). Is there a guide on OCing 4790k using the GENE VII mobo? (UEFI only not any software)? How can I address the high temps issue ? Thanks!
  4. This would be rockin! Thanks Linustech!!! <3 FOREVA!!
  5. Thanks spwath, you led me to the video that I was kind of thinking along the lines of: Maybe I can mod Lian Li PC-V359 and have acrylic (or maybe cut custom glass) to fit the top and two of the sides.
  6. Thanks but those are traditional mostly metal cases. I need a case that is mostly glass on the exterior or part of the case structure.
  7. For my new build I'm looking for a case that has glass (tempered, tanned) outside and metal support structure. IN WIN 901 isn't exactly what I'm looking for. I believe I saw a video about a "cube shaped" mATX glass case a while ago but I cannot recollect if it was linus or teksyndicate or hardwarecanucks. If anyone knows any mostly glass cases please do share your wisdom ! Thanks in advance.
  8. I was thinking of doing something similar but haven't found a solution yet. I'm pretty sure that popular backup software can make drive images. If you find something that works for you, please let us know. Thanks !
  9. Thanks a lot for your advice guys!
  10. It makes sense I will lose data on those specific drives that I'm planing use to create a RAID. My concern is about the other drives plugged into the mobo.
  11. Dear Linustechtips forum, I'm using a p8z68 v-pro mobo, 2700k cpu. I currently have the following setup: single ssd booting to windows 8, other 5 drives (mix of ssd and hdd) as backup/storage in AHCI mode. What I intend to have: Raid 0 with two ssds as boot drive, other drives as storage/backup. The question/problem is going from my current setup to a raid setup, do I have to loose all of my data on all of the drives I have? Do I have to "convert" to a new system? I just want to have two ssds in raid 0 to boot from and everything else remain the same in terms of storage and accessibility to those drives. Thanks for your future responses !
