  1. Thats good to hear, just out of curiosity have you heard anything good about EVGA's aios? I got their 360mm because it was on sale and I've had good experiences with their customer service in the past.
  2. I took the fans running and sound of liquid pumping through it as a sign it was working. Suppose that isn't necessarily the case tho?
  3. I built my current gaming PC in December of 2020. Here is my part list: i7 10700k Gigabyte GeForce GTX 1080 Windforce OC GV-N1080WF3OC-8GD Graphics Card MSI MPG Z490 Gaming Plus mobo Enermax Aquafusion 240mm AIO cpu liquid cooler EVGA 220-G50750-X1 Super Nova 750 G5, 80 Plus Gold 750w PSU 16GB Corsair Vengeance 3000Mhz 2 2.5" WD ssds, M.2 WD SSD, and a WD HDD Also have 3 monitors, all plugged into gpu I have a cpu temperature monitor installed and just while browsing the web some of my core temperatures will fluctuate between 45 to 100 degrees, but for only a split second. The temperatures jump all over the place and skyrocket if I attempt to play any kind of game. My clock speed is also very high even at idle. I've disassembled the tower and confirmed everything in my case is in installed correctly, free of dust, and working properly (including my aio cpu cooler). Here is a screenshot of my temps and clocks: https://imgur.com/a/VPwQ6HU I've had this build for about a year and a half and have had some minor issues with performance in the past that led to me discovering my high cpu temperatures, though I thought some BIOS updates had fixed it. But for the past several days now my PC is shutting off randomly and tells me at startup that my cpu is overheating. Research online says that my AIO might not be good enough to keep my i7 10700k cool. I have ordered a new 360mm model. But the question that really scares me is..why now? Why after a year and a half is my PC just now shutting down due to overheating when it's environment hasn't changed? Am I to believe that I may have permanently damaged my cpu over time? Any help would be much appreciated!
  4. Ok so im about to buy a monitor (more specifically the Acer xf270hu) that is rated at 144hz and has Freesync. I chose this monitor because of the high refresh rate, the 1440p resolution, and the IPS panel. The only problem is i have a gtx 1070 so i wont be able to use Freesync. My question is, is the 144hz refresh rate still achievable without the use of freesync? I dont know much about how this works so this question may not make sense but id still like an answer lol. Thanks in advance.
  5. Ok cool, thanks for answering.
  6. Indeed it does have freesync, hense the interest in switching to an amd card.
  7. Thats the plan because im not about to drop $800 for a rx 580 right now.
  8. Ok so im about to buy a 1440p 144hz monitor because its on sale and i dont want to miss out on the deal. The problem is i wont be able to upgrade my graphics card for a while (possible longer if prices dont drop) and ill be gaming with my Evga gtx 960 2gb which i know will perform pretty poorly at 1440p. My (probably stupid) question is, if i leave my monitor at 1440p resolution but set in game resolution to 1080p will the image take up the entire screen and just have a lower quality or will i get that square image in the middle of the screen with the black border around? Also, is the difference between a TN monitor vs IPS that noticeable if all i do is play games and view from the front?
  9. I just checked my amazon orders and i ordered it for new for $139.23. Not sure whats going on lol.
  10. I recently (within the last 4 months) bought the MSI Z170a Krait gaming 3x motherboard for around $150us and now its retailing for $440 on newegg and $300 on outletpc. Why the sudden hike in pricing? Or is this just an error? Dumb question im just really confused.
  11. Finished and everything is working perfectly. Thanks everyone for your suggestions and help.
  12. Cloning my drive as we speak. Wish me luck, im sweating bullets hoping i did it correctly lol.
