  1. Saw some youtube videos using 64GB (Fury Impact). So I am hopeful that the Crucial 64GB would also work haven't seen any videos about the Crucial ram. Crucial also does not list the tech specs similar to the specs where youtubers compare with the stock ones showing the numbers to monitor to determine if it's slow or not.
  2. Planning to get 64GB RAM for my laptop. Choices: 1) 2pcs of Crucial 32GB 3200mhz (CT32G4SFD832A) (cheaper than option 2) 2) 1 set of Crucial 64GB (32x2) 3200mhz (CT2K32F4SFD832A) (costs more than option 1) I couldn't find information if option 1 would still work in dual channel mode. And I couldn't find information if these are good options for my laptop. I kept seeing the Fury Impact RAM, but the 64GB variant is not available in my country.
  3. Oh wow! I didn't know there was something else to install other than the graphics driver! This did it! Thanks!
  4. I don't know if it's better, but I have tried a KontrolFreek DP 3.6m cable. And the same thing happens. The tower isn't that far. The 1.5m default cable can reach the monitor with a "direct" connection (no routing or cable management). The 3m DP and 5m HDMI cables are just about the right length for cable routing under the table and monitor arms (2nd monitor is an LG 27UL850 that has the same behavior with both UGreen cables)
  5. Okay, so this is my setup 5900x N7 B550 Evga 1080ti ftw3 Benq ex2780q monitor I cannot boot into my BIOS/UEFI when I use my 3m DP cable (UGreen) nor with my 5m HDMI cable (UGreen). I guess my pc can technically go there, but there's no display, so I cannot make changes. Plus I never see my boot screen. It just displays the win10 login page (like delayed power on display or display transmission or something?) Whenever I want to change something in the BIOS (or see my boot screen animation ie nzxt logo), I have to use a shorter HDMI cable , I think it's 1.5 m, cable that came with the monitor. I don't know if it's really a length issue or a UGreen cable issue. And I know I won't be booting often to change something in the BIOS, but I was wondering if a fiber optic dp cable would solve my issue so I won't have to switch cables each time?
  6. Thank you so much for the clarification!
  7. Yikes. So just to double check, if I get the ROOT AP to run in bridge mode, then the AC88U WAN IP will show my public wan ip and NOT the internal one? And if I opt to not run in bridge mode, I cannot use the DDNS on the AC88U, instead, use a service like NO-IP and run a PC client that detects and re-links the new IP to the host name?
  8. Hmm, but is DMZ capable of handing over the Dynamic IP from the ROOT AP to the AC88U? Or can this only be achieved using bridge mode? I read this: https://www.howtogeek.com/255206/how-use-your-router-and-isps-modemrouter-combo-in-tandem/ Based on how I understood it, DMZ should be able to pass the Dynamic IP to the AC88U, but after I setup DMZ on the ROOT AP, the WAN IP of the AC88U still shows as an internal IP. The DDNS option in the AC88U also says: "The wireless router currently uses a private WAN IP address. This router may be in the multiple-NAT environment and DDNS service cannot work in this environment."
  9. Not yet. Hmm, so should I have DHCP Service and NAT off on the ISP-modem/router and have DHCP Service and NAT turned ON only in the Asus-AC88U? Edit: I tried to disable the DHCP service on the ISP-Modem/router (ROOT AP), I lost internet connection on the AC88U.
  10. My network is currently setup as such: ISP-modem/router (white onu - currently with adminpldt access) LAN: 192.168.1.1 (I can access my ISP-router's settings on a browser via this address) WIFI Disabled DMZ: 192.168.1.2 enabled Asus AC-88U: connected to ISP-Modem via ethernet cable (ISP-modem lan port to AC-88U WAN port) WAN Connection type: Automatic IP (192.168.1.2 - I can see this IP connected via lan to my ISP-modem) LAN IP: 192.168.2.1 (I can access my router's settings on a browser via this address) In my understanding, my router gets an internal WAN IP since it's connected to my ISP-modem and the ISP-modem assigns an IP to my router. What I want is to give access to my router to the internet so that it displays it's WAN IP as whatever public IP I currently have (dynamic IP) and not just the internal IP (192.168.1.2) and then use the free DDNS service that comes with the AC-88U. The problem is that I have already enabled DMZ on the ISP-router and listed 192.168.1.2, but the AC-88U still reports an internal WAN IP. What am I missing?
  11. Thanks for the input. Yeah, some of the official forum replies are using high-end workstation level hardware, which is probably out of my budget. It would have been cool to see input from users running the software on hardware that's within reach (ie, 8700k? 1950x? 7900x? etc). But yeah, I may be contradicting myself since if ever Linus does something with the idea, he'd probably use hardware in the h0ly $h!t levels - which is also not within my reach. lol
  12. I'm looking into building an mATX machine with the Evolv mATX TG, but I want to add more storage space to the case. I would just do an air-cooled build with a generally horizontal airflow so there would be a lot of empty space on the top area. For the case owners out there of the mATX TG, how much space is there between the top of the motherboard to the ceiling of the case (fan/radiator grill)? I'm thinking of placing HDD cage/s there to place more HDDs. Would there also be enough HDD space on the upper part (between fan/radiator grill and top case cover)?
  13. Out of curiosity, are there people here who process UAV images with the Pix4Dmapper software? I do research work at a University. Part of the research tackles processing UAV images with the Pix4Dmapper software. When working at home, I have a 4790k, just using stock clocks - hoping for better stability, 16GB of RAM, and a 1080TI. It takes hours, sometimes days to process and the software eats up all the cores/threads and the RAM of my PC. I sometimes get inconsistent results (ie, processing the same data set twice sometimes results in different outputs - my system probably cannot handle the volume of data) At work, we have a workstation with dual Xeon E5-2620 v3, 32GB ECC RAM, and an AMD FirePro W2100. The software still eats all the 24 logical processors and the 32GB of RAM. Processing the same data set twice seems to produce consistent outputs, but the whole processing still takes around 10-12 hours to process. I assumed that processing the entire subject area at once would not be possible, so we divided it in several areas. Each area would take 10-12 hours to process. I tried to customize one workstation at work - dual Xeon E5-2620 v2, 96GB RAM, ATI FirePro V. I tried to load the full data set of the subject area all at once, it's been 7 days, and it's still processing. It's at 7 of 25 or 26 steps. At some point, I want to do my own processing, possibly for profit or purely own research. I'm curious on what hardware would actually be beneficial for me, price&perfomance-wise. I know there's a Pix4D forum, but I'm hoping to get a more realistic, from experience, answers/stories here. Pix4D does have a trial version of their software. Maybe someone is interested in testing there existing hardware on how it would fare in this real world task of processing these images (not like cinebench stuff). I could send you a data set for testing purposes. Or idk, maybe Linus could try processing it using their plethora of hardware and monster workstations? Or compare if the cinebench scores would reflect in this real world task? And make a video about it?
  14. I read somewhere (forgot where as I was browsing several sites) that it's better to buy game drives (ie Seagate external drives for xbox or ps) than regular external drives for additional console storage. Is this "game drive" really a thing or are there no significant performance differences between the two? I'm thinking of buying additional storage for my xbox and wondering if I would benefit from a game drive.
  15. I want this review, too! Going to the US this December and looking into getting this laptop. I'm curious on LTT's take on this Yoga 920. Plus it does have thunderbolt 3, so maybe add in a comparison with a razer stealth + razer core? (setup experience on 920, performance, etc). Plus touch screen performance w/ and w/o the lenovo pen. Actual battery life in watching offline videos or youtube. Some of the reviews I've seen on this does not mention how good the on-screen keyboard is, if any, when in tablet mode. Actual video render times of at least 1080p footage. Moba gaming performance for passing the time on-the-go (since I doubt it can play AAA games with the 620). Discounts, maybe? lol Too bad, I think if this does make it to LTT's list, I've already bought one or have left the US. The unit is still not available in my country. The 910 still even has a jacked up price here!
