ripanotha2013og reacted to Tog Driver in Moderators on the forum
Random question for the mods, I noticed on the Guides and Tutorials guidelines it said:

But I can't find anything related to guns in the Community Standards?
Why is it specifically referencing the CS when the CS doesn't forbid it?

Couldn't that exact thing happen with Tech reviews though?

ripanotha2013og reacted to colonel_mortis in display "informative" reactions instead of postcount
I'm not sure what difference this would make to be honest. Post count isn't a perfect metric, but it does only count posts in the tech-related sections of the forum. Displaying the number of informative reactions would give an indication of how often people thought someone was informative, but it can be very easily affected by a few posts that get a large number of reactions and isn't restricted to tech (informative reactions in status updates and off topic would count towards it, and that isn't something that could be changed).

It is an interesting idea, but I'm not certain that it would be a change entirely for the better.

Change is bad, and people are idiots. That's really it.

Genuinely if it weren't for UWP games I'd still probably be on 8.1 because it gave me less problems than 10, and seemingly unlike most people I have this strange ability to adapt to a different start menu. Hell, I rather liked it.

I can only recommend getting a larger SSD.  120GB may be enough to store windows, your programs, and some games, but for longevity you want the SSD to have enough space for wear leveling as well.
Also, Windows seems to need more and more disk space with every update and every new version.

The 240GB ones really aren't that much more expensive.  I'm looking at the Crucial BX500 (which @flibberdipper mentioned) in another tab.  That's currently 25€ for the 120GB version and 37€ for the 240GB one.  That 12€ extra is going to save you a whole lot of headaches later on.

Crucial BX500 gets my vote. Have a 120GB one myself and it's pretty good considering it cost like 25 bucks at the time.

No, when the system shuts down it dumps the RAM. If you choose sleep it keeps stuff in the RAM but if you lose power you lose all your work. Hibernate is a hybrid of that, it saves what was in your RAM to the HDD and restores it back to the RAM when you boot up again.

They have everything to do with it, Windows 10 is terribly slow on HDDs even after boot, any OS with anything opening on boot is slow for the first bit after a restart on HDDs, even SSD systems lag a bit at first but they typically load everything in exponentially faster.

Can't really say there's much of a point to not going with the CX600 other than non-modular being kinda annoying.

I wouldn't know. All of mine come out like crap.

Though on a serious note, for me it's almost always about light. Especially when you consider what you're using for the photo. I don't find that phone cameras do a good job when it comes to photographing inanimate objects unless there is a lot of light. Same even for regular cameras. If I am shooting with my phone, the room is well lit. I try to wait for day light. When I use my dSLR, I bounce a speedlite off of either the wall or the ceiling depending on what angle I need to diffuse the light. I also try to avoid red or blue LEDs as they are a nightmare to photograph. My 2700X build was less than run getting the red right.

Something I see happen a lot when people use their phone for pics of RGB builds is not manually settings things. This causes the LEDs to blow out completely and the image looks awful. That said, I'm terrible at giving advice.

I did some house cleaning and I shed about 80, 20, and 40GB per drive (though my Plex drive has been continually growing).

This shit is why I want to go with a 512GB SSD for my main drive and then a pair of 2TB SSDs in my next rig though.

I actually like that they play through headphones, because if I have headphones connected they're in my ears and I can actually hear my notifications.

How is the OP going to revert a clean install of Windows 10 1903 to an older version?

OP, did you have Windows 10 installed on your other SSD before you got the new SSD for a fresh install? Having multiple OS drives plugged in when installing another can get really wacky really fast. I've had Windows pull all sorts of wack shit, or if I installed Ubuntu it'd insist on booting to the GRUB loader even to get into Windows. Probably best to unplug any other drive with an operating system before installing to a new drive (can unplug them all to make sure you don't accidentally wipe one).

8/8.1 is not based on Vista. What are you talking about? Vista was hardware intensive but otherwise there was nothing really terrible about it. It was better than the old 98-style Kernels and improved on XP's design

Here's a few of my retro parts from past builds.
The motherboards are an MSI P6N SLI Platinum, and an ABit AN8-SLI.
The GPU's are an EVGA GeForce 7900 GS and an ATI Radeon X1950XTX.
The RAM is a matching set of 4 512mb DDR 400 modules.  The first RAM I ever bought brand new!
