Harvey got a reaction from da na in Experiences with non-techies
I've had people assume I can fix a car because "cars have so much electronics in them these days".

Harvey reacted to suicidalfranco in [UPDATE] Windows 10 October Update Potentially Deleting Files and a Warning for Intel Users
Getting offended at a general Internet term used to define basically everything?
have we reached a new low?

Harvey reacted to SuperShires in Well, it's been about a year. After your vessel trial ends, are you paying?
I dont see the value in it as I only use vessel to watch Linus videos and nothing else.

Harvey reacted to dukethedj in Not here to start a flamewar but who else feels the same way?
Kinda how I feel for people who complain that somthing offends them in a movie or tv show and they want it off of the face of the earth.

I never really know how to address these kinds of posts. I see the demographics (no we are not more heavily skewed towards 12 year olds than we ever were) and I see the viewer growth..
Not everything we make can appeal to everyone, but the good news is we make videos EVERY SINGLE DAY compared to many other tech channels that post every other day or even as little as like once per week. So think of it this way: if 1/5 of our videos appeals to you, then we're producing as much relevant content for you personally as anyone else, and we're also appealing to others who have different tastes than you do.

I don't see how doing product showcases of what's possible with modern technology is so called "twelve year old content".

Harvey got a reaction from Noble372 in Does any one else think RGB keyboard are a fad?
I never understood why people care about back lighting at all. But apparently a lot of people do. I played with all the settings of my Ducky Shine 3 when I first got it, but by the end of the day I turned all back lighting / effects off and haven't turned them on since.
People seem to really love lights. In a couple years I'm sure RGB willl be just another tick box feature, its not going away.

Harvey reacted to LinusTech in Linus' unfair treatement towards YT subscribers : WAN Show unlisted for a whole day
Something to bear in mind is that I have a life. At the end of a long week on Friday, the WAN archive is a lower priority than making dinner, seeing my family or any number of other things I can be doing during that time. If it takes a few hours, it takes a few hours.

Harvey reacted to Sousuke in What do people hate about Apple?
Why do people think that Mac OS X Is based off a Linux Kernel, its a Unix Kernel called Darwin.
Mac OS X Is very stable, Yes you do need an antivirus (The only people who beleve that suckkel off the tits of the apple marketing teams.)
Yes some of their products are overpriced but as I like to say if you want to pay that price then pay it, if you dont then dont!
I've owned 2 desktop Macs from new, A PowerMac G4 in 1999 and a 2008 Mac Pro (Which I am still using this day).

Harvey reacted to Kevin_Walter in What would you guys want to become standard on PC hardware?
I wouldn't mind a standardized system for the front I/O connections on motherboards. It baffles me that some manufacturers have to include a little adapter that lets you connect the little power switch and LED wires to it, and then plug THAT adapter into the slot on the mobo.
Why is this not a standardized header yet!?

Harvey reacted to mr moose in What's your definition of an enthusiast?
You don't have to spend any money to be an enthusiast, train enthusiasts don't always ride on trains, sometimes they just watch them and learn a bout them. Same with pc, photography, art, reading, or any other hobby, if you are excited and want to learn about the hobby you are an enthusiast.

Harvey reacted to Bluejay0 in Possibly offensive ad on tech quickie
Well ads tend to pertain to what the user has recently been viewing. So it's partially your fault.

Probably not. They seem well designed for "normal" wear and tear. One piece of advice though, get new friends!

Harvey reacted to Glenwing in Moderator elections
You know, every time a whole thread gets out of control and I warn a bunch of people, every single one of them sends me an angry message demanding to know why no one else got warned. It's pretty funny. Warnings are not public information, and neither is about 95% of the rest of mod work.
I guess people don't think about it, but no one knows when we do anything or how we handle it. All of our actions are invisible to everyone except the one person they involve. One of the core concepts of the proposed idea involves judging how well we do things that you aren't even aware of, and I don't see how you could ever effectively rate us on how well we do our job without even seeing our work. So, this idea really won't work as well as you think it might.
There have been numerous threads about how mod selection works, and the answer still remains the same. The only ones that can really monitor what we do, Linus, Slick, and MrWizard, will manage the moderator team. If you think a mod is not doing his job well, then contact Slick, and if it's a valid complaint he'll talk to the mod in question about it.
