  1. I've had my GTX 1070TI for about 4 years now and it's still working fine, but in the last year or so I've run into situations where my performance at 1440p in heavier games (think games like RDR2 and the like) has been less than desirable. The games work but I struggle to get 60FPS on the lower settings. Because of that I've been looking at GPU upgrades, and while at least GPU's are available and more affordable where I live they are still a good bit above MSRP, but I've managed to find a GIGABYTE RTX 3070 Gaming for around €750. I'm currently debating whether or not it's worth it to get it tho especially with RTX 4000 being around the corner (if the leaks are anything to go by). I don't really mind waiting on those cards releasing but who knows if there is even going to be stock at launch or if it's going to be another two years before they are actually available to buy. So, what do you think? Should I get the RTX 3070 now or risk waiting on RTX 4000? In case it matters: here are the rest of my specs: AMD Ryzen 7 3700x 32GB RAM 750W PSU
  2. Alright thanks that opens up my options significantly. I'll have a look there. I honestly can't believe I've never heard of or seen that site before.
  3. Alright, thanks. Sadly getting audio equipment is kind of difficulty since most things are out of stock right now (I honestly don't know why, it usually isn't that bad) and I'd have to wait a couple of weeks for things to arrive. And while that wouldn't really be a problem usually, it is now since my current mic is dying and I don't know if it will keep working for a couple of weeks.. So I kind of want a new one sooner rather than later. But that does limits my options significantly, pretty much to the following things: Microphones: AT 2020 AT 2035 Rode NT1-a Samson CL8a AKG Project P220 Interfaces: Rode AI-1 Steinberg UR12 (The Steinberg UR22mkII is also available but about 50 euro's more expensive) Native Instruments KOMPLETE AUDIO 1 Presonus Studio 2 Then of course I also have to consider my headphones but if it's not possible to get an audio interface with an amp powerful enough (in one that is affordable at least) I really wouldn't mind to get a separate amp (if one is in stock of course).
  4. Hi Guys! My current Samson C03u is dying so I'm in the market for a new mic. I've already decided to go for an XLR mic this time around and after doing some research I'm torn between the Rode NT1-a and the AT2020. The AT2020 is about 80 euro's cheaper here in the Netherlands but it doesn't come with a popfilter or shockmount like the Rode does so if I would buy the AT2020 I'd have to factor in those costs as well. I'm going to be using the mic for Discord calls while gaming and for the occasional Twitch stream. The interface I'm planning on buying is the Rode AI-1 mostly because (if I understood the specs correctly at least) they should be able to power my 250 Ohm DT 770 Pro's without to much problems. TL:DR: Is spending 80 euro's more on the NT1-a going to be worth it or should I just go for the cheaper option and get the AT2020?
  5. Thanks for the very detailed response! It helped a lot already although I do have one question: If I were to go for a mixer (I probably won't after reading this, but still) how much more would I need to spend to get the 2 outputs (the mic alone, and the mic with the other channels).
  6. It should run fine, F1 2019 is hardly a demanding game.
  7. Hi guys, so this is probably going to be a long post so bear with me. Recently I've realized that the Samson C03u USB mic I've been using and enjoying for a long time is starting to die on me so before it completely gives up the ghost I decided that now is a better time than ever to redo my audio setup and make it a lot better but I honestly have zero knowledge of audio hardware so I have no idea what the best options are for me. Like I said up until now I've been using a USB mic but I've wanted to move to XLR for quite some time now (mostly so I can monitor the audio without delay) but I have absolutely no idea what I'm going to need to get an XLR mic working, so I've been researching and came to the conclusion that I'm either going to need a mixer or an audio interface. I've decided that I'd prefer to get a mixer over an audio interface because having a mixer should also give me the ability to change volume levels for my stream in hardware instead or software (which should save me a lot of alt-tabbing to OBS all of the time because "the audio is not quite right"). I know a mixer is probably going to be more expensive but the convenience is worth it to me. But after deciding that I want to get a mixer I got completely lost. So I hope you guys can help me here. The idea is that I'm going to have a couple of channels on the mixer. One for my mic (of course), one for my game audio, one for my VoIP audio and preferably one for my background music. Than that audio would need to get back to my PC to be used in OBS but I would also need to get that audio to my headphones (Beyerdynamic DT770 Pro 250 Ohm) which is were another question arises for me. Can I plug these relatively high impedance headphones directly into a mixer or would I need to plug it in to an amp first? I'm currently powering them using my build-in audio and it sounds very good to me so up until now I never saw a reason to get a dedicated amp but I don't know if a mixer is going to have an amp powerful enough to power these headphones. And if I need an amp which one would I need and how would I connect it to the mixer... But there is more... When I'm streaming I often have someone in a call on Discord and they should only hear my mic, not the game/desktop audio so I'm guessing a mixer would need to have another output for the mic alone? So as you can see I really have no idea what I need in terms of equipment and if the things I want are even doable so any help is very welcome. As far as budget goes I don't really have a hard cap but I'd prefer to spend less than 300-400 euro's on all of the equipment I'm going to need. If it isn't possible I can always spend more but let's just say I'd rather not if I don't have to.
  8. Didn't think about that to be honest... I could totally do that too... I'll have to look into that a bit more but thanks for the suggestion!
  9. Alright, thanks, It's good to know there are so many mid ranges options out there... I'm sure there is something in there for me, and about not having interest in getting another 5.1 system, I'd actually love to get a new system but I don't feel like it's worth it to spend that kind of money on a system I'll use maybe once a week...
  10. Hi Guys! So the title says a lot, I currently have an old 5.1 HTIB system (It's from around 2002 so really old) and I'm considering swapping it out all together for a new soundbar, mostly due to the inconveniences (decoding modern codecs like TRUEHD & Atmos and having to use multiple remotes because optical audio can't transfer volume and the likes) but also partly for the sound quality, since it's not great. It's fine for movie watching but the speakers barley produce any lows meaning the sub needs to be cranked AT ALL TIMES which sounds absolutely awful when listening to music since the bass overshadows literally any other sound, but turning it off also sounds hideous because than there aren't any lows... So overall it's not great, especially for listening to music. But part of me is still concerned an affordable soundbar will not sound much better than my existing speakers. So maybe you guys can help me decide here: I'm looking to spend around 250-450 euro's, not because I can't afford to spend more just because I barely use my speakers since I live in an apartment (I don't want to piss the neighbors off too much xD), but I still want decent sound for when my friends come over to watch a movie for example... So what should I do, should I stick with my old 5.1 system that wasn't all that great in the first place or should I get a reasonably affordable soundbar (advice would be helpful ) and replace my old system altogether. Thanks in advance!
  11. Hi everyone! I'm currently using a Razer Man 'O War as my main PC Gaming headset but recently it's starting to annoy the crap out of me, it seems like the battery dies on me every day no matter how often I charge it and the signal is constantly dropping and being forced to use Synapse 2 isn't helping either. So I was looking for a replacement. At first I was looking at the Nari Ultimate which is around 180 euros here in The Netherlands but then I saw the SteelSeries Arctic Pro Wireless on sale for 280 euros which is of course more expensive but I have heard some good things about it and I'm especially interested in the DAC with the ChatMix feature and I like the idea of having two batteries so I never run out of power again. I play on PC and I play all sorts of games, from shooters to third person adventures and indie titles. But I'm not planning to use it for gaming alone, I also listen to music often, again all sorts of genres and I watch a lot of YouTube and occasionally I'll watch some Netflix on my PC so it's important for me that they are good all around headphones. So I would like your help, are the SteelSeries Arctic Pro Wireless good or are there better, possibly cheaper options out there since I don't mind spending money but I don't want to overspend if I don't have to. Thanks in advance!
  12. The difference in price between the 550w and the 750w is only about 15 euro's which I don't mind spending in order to get some more future proofing to be honest.
  13. Sadly those are out of stock on the site where I usually buy my pc parts, but I did see another appealing deal on a PSU from the list, specifically the Cooler Master MWE Gold 750 which is around 95 euros right now and it's on Tier A of the list so I'm assuming that one is good as well?
  14. Yikes, guess the first thing I'm buying is a new power supply, or maybe I'll take it out of my Media Server since I recently upgraded that one with a BeQuite System Power 9 600W
  15. I do in fact have an SSD, a 970 Evo 500GB to be exact, I have though about getting an extra SATA SSD for gaming but I don't really feel like it's necessary since I'm fine with games loading a little slower with my HDD.
