  1. Thank You, I'll look into those things. Do you have a recommendation on CPU Cooler. I was recommended a Cooler Master Hyper 212 RGB Black Edition on Reddit. In addition he also gave me this case Cooler Master MasterCase H500. Thoughts on those two? If you are asking specifically about the PSU it is here. https://www.newegg.com/evga-supernova-750-g1-120-gp-0750-x1-750w/p/N82E16817438132?Description=evga supernova g%2b&cm_re=evga_supernova_g%2b-_-17-438-132-_-Product&quicklink=true . Do you agree that 750W is too high for a PSU is 500W good or 650W a nice middle spot? Thanks
  2. Hello, First, I'm sorry for the long post. I'm getting ready to build my first PC. I had posted here a few years ago about getting ready to build my first PC however, unforeseen circumstance happened and I was unable to build one at that time. Now, my near 10 year old PC, which was bought at best buy, is nearing its' final legs and I'm hoping to build a PC before the prices start skyrocketing due to what's going on in the world. I'm looking for a PC that can game at 1440p 144hz while also live stream. My college degree is in finance, but I assume most PC's should be able to handle basic finance day-to-day requirements mainly excel so that is not an overly important concern but is something to note. Listed below I have the parts I have picked out. I'm hoping to have parts ordered by Sunday/Monday with Tuesday being the latest. https://pcpartpicker.com/list/NVCnwh I would appreciate any thoughts or recommendations on what I have chosen. Please try to keep any recommendations near this price level, because the prices will be going up every day due to the supply chain problems already happening due to the pandemic. Things to note: The monitor is expensive, however it was the only "cheap-ish" one i could find that had decent reviews on Amazon and Newegg from a brand I had heard of. Others that were around the $350 mark had a lot of complaints about dead pixels, bleeding, etc. So that's why I'm willing to pay more for one that didn't appear to showcase these problems as frequently. If you have a better 27" 1440p min.144hz from a good reputable brand that is reliable let me know. I'm planning on OC'ing the CPU thus the H100i pro, the reason i went with a water cooler and not a after-market fan is because a better CPU will be on the upgrade path eventually. So, i figured i would need to get one eventually so why not now. The X570 was chosen over the b450 due to again future upgrades and the fact this board has WiFi. The first area I personally felt I may have overspent and am looking for thoughts and recommendations is the case. Again parts are getting hard to find in stock, and I'm looking for a nice case, that will be able to hold the parts i have chosen, has good airflow, and is black. This area I'm open to your recommendations. The other area is the PSU. That PSU listed isn't the correct one, its actually EVGA 750W Supernova G+ 80+ Gold Fully Modular, i however couldn't find it on pcpartpicker. I know you should not cheap out on a PSU and its better to go over the needed wattage than under. I don't know if I've went too far over. Again I'm planning to upgrade parts in the future, so that's why i went with a 750w even though the estimate is 409w. It would allow upgrade room safely in the future. The only two sites that I'll order from is Amazon and Newegg. I would however prefer to order as much stuff on Amazon as possible due to their return policy, and only have to order off of Newegg as needed. I've heard that since they were bought a couple years ago their customer service has been real "hit or miss" to put it nicely and I don't really want to have to try and jump through 5 1/2 million hoops in order to return a part that arrives DOA. As of right now on that list only the PSU and case is bought off newegg. Final note- All prices listed, including the ones manually added where accurate as of 12:30 PST 4/4/2020. I know that this post was long and if you made it this far thank you. Once again any help or recommendations would be greatly appreciated. Thank you so very much.
  3. OK thanks, should be the last question i have regarding CPU. On Amazon the 1700 comes with a wraith cooler, if i decide to forgo the water cooler will this keep my CPU cool enough, with OC'ing and will i have to buy an extra bracket mount like i would have to for the h100i v2 since that doesn't come equipped for am4 socket; or would you recommend a different air cooler, and if so which one preferably a quiet one. Thanks again for all of your help.
  4. I have had multiple people say just go with 1700 over 1800x. My two questions are will 1. The 1700 be able to handle what i need, i know at 4k the bottleneck is the GPU, but i want to make sure the streaming won't bottleneck due to CPU. 2. Is there any major difference besides clock speed between the 1700 and 1700x. Thanks again for your help.
  5. I will look at my PSU choice definitely; however my concern with going no water cooling and strictly air cooling is that is that it will not keep my CPU cool enough. My room was a garage that is now walled off, while i do get air conditioning in my room as well as have a wall cooler i can turn on at my leisure, where i live it gets like 100-115 in the summer; and that heat loves to just sit in my room. So my room is generally always hot to begin with. So i figured water cooling will keep my CPU cooler and run at a lower temp.
  6. The 1800x was because from what i read is it can reach higher OC and the chance for a higher OC is greater than the 1700.
  7. If you mean which of those 3 subjects i will be using most with the PC then college work and gaming together followed by streaming. Gaming wise i play MMO's however i am wanting to jump to PC gaming for things like Fallout, Witcher, and more modern games; i.e. move away from consoles. However if i misinterpreted your question and you are asking which subject as far as college goes it would be business administration. So that's why not only paper's, i.e. some gen ed stuff but excel for accounting, etc.
  8. Hello, I am finally getting ready to purchase the parts and then build my first PC. I have spent a lot of time researching and waiting for the parts i knew i wanted to come out, now that everything is out and has been out for a few months to work out issues, i think it is finally time to pull the trigger. Before i do though i was hoping that i could get some final thoughts or concerns, if there are any. This PC is going to be used for gaming, streaming, and college work i.e. writing papers and doing things with excel. I knew when i started i wanted my PC to run 4k, so i had to wait for 1080ti to come out and wait for aftermarket cooling. I know it is quite a bit of money to drop on a PC but i have been saving up for awhile and this is also a very late high school graduation gift from my parents and early gift to myself for getting my A.S. in a few months. https://pcpartpicker.com/user/SSHGaming/saved/hDvycf Everything is being purchased on Amazon and as of today comes in just below $3k. One question i do have is should i purchase the 3-4 year warranties Amazon is offering on the individual products or is it just a waste of money. Again since I have never built one before i am hoping to get a kind of final approval of the build or any warnings/suggestions on things i missed. Once again thank you for your time. I appreciate it.
  9. Hello, I recently have started looking into building my first PC. This PC would be used for gaming. Nothing too graphics intensive normally but i would like to have the ability to play those games if needed/wanted and want to future proof for the next couple of years. However mostly MMO's will be played on this computer. I would also like to use this PC to record/livestream and edit the OBS videos. Prior to researching for parts i had very little knowledge of the hardware so i spent some time and pestered some old guild mates of mine to kinda answer some very basic questions. However after awhile i think i have got some good parts picked out and it should be able to do 4k. So here is my parts list.http://pcpartpicker.com/list/RW7w6XI do plan on doing some upgrades once i can afford it. The current $1900ish price is basically my entire budget. However i plan on getting another 16 gigs of ram to make it 32 gigs total. Another 2 TB for my hard drive for a total of 4 TB when i can afford it. I would like to get another 2 of those monitors to get a triple monitor set up going. Now we come to a few questions i have. 1.) When i have the money should i replace the graphics card i have with 2 MSI GeForce 980 Ti 6GB for 2 way SLI, or should i keep the graphics card i have and get 2 more of them for a 3-way crossfire, and yes i realize i would need to get a better power supply if i did the latter.2.) Will that CPU cooler keep my PC cool enough even with the future planned upgrades. Also are more fans in my computer case needed atm or can i get by with the ones that come with the case3.) Will everything i currently have chosen fit in that case without having to mod the case, also will the future planned upgrades. both the 2 msi geforce cards or 3 radeon r9 options. more ram and memory fit in it with a higher power supply. 4.) Finally a few really basic/stupid questions but i'm not super knowledgeable when it comes to hardware so i better ask. I'm going to use a headset all the time. Do i need a sound card or does sound already come with the motherboard. Also is this computer wifi capable or would i need to get a wireless adapter. Finally i assume any usb mouse and keyboard will work, even the one i got from like a 5 year old computer i bought at best buy. 5.) Finally overall how is my pc suited to the original goal in the first paragraph. and is it future proof for awhile.Thank You so much if you got this far into the post. I really appreciate if you took the time to not only read but respond to somebody who is just trying to make sure their first attempt at a pc build goes well and not end tragically or in frustration. Also do not worry i will not try to build it all by myself, i will have someone right next to me who has built a few pc's before.
