SeamusFrederick got a reaction from kelvinhall05 in Youtube tech has become stale
watching tech news on youtube is the only way I get my daily dose of updates in the tech world so i see no problems with that..
as for troubleshooting videos, that's what forums are for. dont need videos for that except when the issue at hand is difficult to explain just with words.
but i do agree with you that the content needs to get mixed up a little more..more diy tech projects would be cool and video reviews are always helpful since you get a look at the product in question being used irl..
those are my two cents on the topic..

SeamusFrederick reacted to Oshino Shinobu in Best way to enjoy virtual reality?
See if you can find a Vive or Oculus Rift demo. Honestly, VR still isn't ready, so I wouldn't advise buying anything yet. Next gen of headsets will likely be the start of the good ones.

I'd just say get on a forum dedicated to science. You don't use a supercomputer to run Battlefield do you?

40000 for $5 sounds like a scam. I would avoid these. What sort of prices are 20000mAh banks on Amazon etc?

SeamusFrederick reacted to Tyrosen in How Far Is Too Far?
So whats your question here? Is what the school is doing too far? I would say yes. It is their fault to blame on less security first though. I don't understand is why they don't use a network-based filtering system, instead of a software filtering. The chromebooks are as basic as they come. If you can bring it home, then the school should still let you use it for your enjoyment, like youtube, facebook, social media They have the right to lock the laptops though. You are lucky enough to be gifted a school providing you with chromebooks.

What are your system specifications and parts?
Any overclocks?
How old is the Windows install?
When did this issue first start occurring?
What all have you tried?

SeamusFrederick reacted to Mira Yurizaki in calculate cumputer speed
You have to use a benchmark tool to get performance metrics, and take those as a general idea because some applications don't necessarily use hardware the same way.

Backing this one. I3's are well on their way out for a satisfactory gaming experience.

SeamusFrederick reacted to roylapoutre in Is my A8 5500 bottlenecking my GTX 970?
You gave the example of GTA V which is quite taxing on the CPU. And your A8 5500 is really outdated, any modern i3 would do better than this You should consider an upgrade to enjoy the potential of your 970 because you will be limited in a lot of games, even if they're not CPU intensive.

SeamusFrederick reacted to Scruffy90 in Your first-time dual (or more) monitor experiences?
First time was my samsung tv (21") and my 2009 iMac. Became so proficient. Now I have trouble doing anything on a single monitor, unless its an ultrawide (wanted one since Phillips annouced one in 2009)

SeamusFrederick reacted to Remixt in Is it just me or has 2016 flown by?
The older you get the faster time seems to go by. It's actually scientifically theorized that perception of time is slower if you experience something new. So keep trying new things if you want it to slow down a bit

SeamusFrederick reacted to pcshme33 in BUILD HELP!!!
There isnt just an option in windows that makes everything go to that drive. You need to do it by yourself. For ex you need to go into your download properties and make it go to your hard drive. Install steam on your hard drive, exc. Go into google chrome and make sure the downloads to go the hard drive.
Its a old video, but it should help either way.

SeamusFrederick reacted to Volbet in What do you do while listening to music?
I pretty much do everything to music. The only times I don't listen to music is when I'm at work or at school.
There are speakers on ever floor of my house, and I can easily stream music around the house.
When I want to relax I usually put on a record and them I lay back and just listens to the music.
