  1. Budget (including currency): as much as it needs to be I guess Country: west EU Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: light & "last gen" games @3440x1440 mostly (60-120hz depending on game) + general multitasking on the side or simultaneously Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc): I currently have a 2070 and not upgrading that for a good while most likely, so I'm looking for a sensible pairing with that for listed res. But I could be convinced to go a bit overkill right now if it means it will last me much longer. Current CPU is a 6600K so I still have a set of DDR4 albeit only 16GB and on the slower side since it was very new at the time (2133 C13 iirc). Main concern aside from performance and longevity is power consumption so I'm assuming it's gonna be AMD for me from what I've heard. Another concern is environmental impact of doing small upgrades with cheaper last gen hardware every few years, and realistically would just pile up in a closet (local 2nd hand market kinda sucks). I've kinda been out of the loop so idk if AM5 has any advantages for me currently but I do know it's very pricy and probably overkill for my GPU I think. So my wallet is leaning towards last gen atm. But that raises a bunch of questions still; will my old ram be able to keep up? Would a 5600X be sufficient in my setup for the next 5 years or so, or should I go higher? 5800X? 5900X or 5800X3D at same price? etc... Motherboard wise, what are good boards/brands to get these days that offer decent quality and prefer useful features like debug stuff and actually usable bios instead of dumb decals & lights or come with bullshit software or whatever? Asking because I was kinda disappointed with current mid range Gigabyte board. Any advice is welcome and feel free to correct any assumtion I've made.
  2. My old 6850 has been slowly dying over the past couple of months so a 980 would be a welcome sight!
  3. The Dell here in Belgium is like 40€ more expensive than the 24" version of the Samsung. But LG doesn't make the ea63 model type in 24", which is what brought me to 27" in the first place. You're probably right that that is too big. I just thought if I had been used to a 22" 1680x1050 it wouldn't be so bad. But I'm pretty up close to it and my eyes are just fine. It didn't quite strike me at first how much a 5" upgrade would be since I'm used to the metric system lol. I think i'll just go to a store where they sell monitors and get a feel for the right size. Also the warranty is usually not a very important buy factor here since most manufacturers only give the obligatory 2 year warranty. Thanks for the advice, it was very helpful! Currently I think I'm leaning towards the LG still, but I'll go see if I can compare 24"vs27" in some store close by.
  4. As the title suggests I'm looking into getting one of these monitors. They're all about 200-240€ I believe, though if you know anything better in that price range please do let me know. I'd like to know what the difference is between the 2 Samsung ones, can't find anything on it. Documentation on the 590 is rather scarce, perhaps it's a regional model or something. The 570 being the most expensive is a bit heavier and I think the bezel is a bit wider, but that's all I could find out. I'm going to use it only for gaming and general use, no content creation at all. Build quality is very important to me, my recently deceised Packard Bell monitor lasted me about 8 years of quite intensive use. So I'd like something that can rival that. I'd like some insight from people who know more about this than me, and people who own any of these perhaps. If you need more information from me, feel free to ask. Thanks in advance! 27ea63v-p: http://www.lg.com/us/monitors/lg-27EA63V-P-led-monitor s27c570h: http://www.samsung.com/us/computer/monitors/LS27C570HS/ZA s27c590h: http://www.samsung.com/sg/consumer/pc-peripherals-printer/monitor/led-monitor/LS27C590HS/XS# US and Singapore sites cause English. (Another quick google brought me to a Singaporian forum and they said the 590 is a TN panel, is this true?)
  5. No problem lol, whatever floats your boat. I'm getting one too, but the plate will stay just where it belongs ;).

    green LED fans

It says they have white LED's and just the fan blades are green. And I'd like to keep the fans as the only lighting solution in my case too. I don't really like LED strips in my case tbh.

    green LED fans

I'm looking for some nice Green LED fans (140/120mm) that perform well, are reasonably quiet and have a nice bright vibrant green color. Also they must be available in Europe, preferably in Belgium (global shipping is hella pricy). I really like the Cougar Dual-x fans, but sadly I haven't found a single store in Europe that has them. Secondly I thought of the Bitfenix Spectre pro LED fans but I've heard good reviews but pretty bad ones as well, and I'm kind of worried about the color (and price lol). Right now I'm leaning towards the Aerocool Shark fans but I've read on here that they're very loud. Any other ideas or suggestions?
  8. There are videos out there on youtube where you can see more or less what you asked for. I don't think it will look nice without the top plate. http://youtu.be/4xaf53NHXMw?t=3m6s Also, I'm pretty settled on getting this cooler myself.
  9. Oh that's very strange. But mine is a 3+ year old model and I'm sure Razer Surround didn't exist back then. So yeah, it should work without it :p
  10. Yes, I have. And I found that it's trash. I get can make out enemy positions far better without it, and it sucks terribly for music. Also I don't see what it has to do with the mic but whatever, thanks anyway.
  11. At least they could have sent me some noodles. ;)
  12. I've tried that but they said I needed to contact the retailer for that. Which I did, and they replied with something about noodles. Great job Amazon... Also I've had it for 3 years now I think so it's no longer an option either. And like I said, I never really needed it so I didn't push on to get a new one.
  13. Hi there. So I've had my Razer Carcharias (old model) for a while now and the mic never worked. I never really needed it up until now, so I'm hoping the issue is fixable. Upon closer inspection of the problem I discovered that the headset seems to be recording through the speakers. So I thought maybe this is a soldering mistake or something. I opened it up and all the wires seemed to be perfectly in place. All audio drivers are installed correctly and up to date. It behaves like this on every system I've tried it on. And this little desktop mic works fine on my system. So I'm left pretty clueless as to what the problem could be. Any help at all would be very much appreciated, thanks.
