    72% for 5GHz according to https://siliconlottery.com/collections/coffeelake/products/8700k50g?variant=224965885964

"Most people" is a bit of an exaggeration considering you need a custom loop to cool it off but yeah, since he has one it should be feasible.

Most people get 5ghz from what I've seen, I'd say it's 80% or higher (nvm apparently it's 72%, not a bad guess though XD). The lottery winners on the 8700K are the people who get 5.2ghz+

realistically you wanna keep ur voltage under 1.35v WITHOUT delidding for 85C load~ on an AIO, that said for 5ghz i'd recommend just getting one off SL delidded.

If you are picking one up retail, not delidding, 4.9 is way more realistic than 5.0. It's usually more efficient to run at 4.9 anyway. I remember someone with a chip that needed 1.4v@5ghz and only 1.32v@4.9.

I'd say half or more of the 5.0 you see online are not for everyday use. Without delidding, the chances of getting a 5.0 chip under 85C full load is less than half.

Not necessarily, after all they could just go for a higher end option if they just wanted more performance - without running the risk of breaking their cpu. The 8700k is still in desktop territory, albeit at the enthusiast extreme of it. You can still get a decent overclock on it with a beefy air cooler.

5ghz is quite likely, especially with a delis and 280mm custom loop

72% is from 5.0-5.2 so your chances can be higher on getting a 5.0+.
    The raw percentages:
    5.2Ghz: 16%
    5.1Ghz: 27%
    5.0Ghz: 29%
    4.9Ghz: 27%
    4.8Ghz: 1%?
It also means that you'd have to be unlucky to get one that can't hit 5.0Ghz. 1 in 4 chance basically in hitting a dud.

SiconLottary stated that from their experience 72% of 8700k's get to 5ghz, but you'll probably need to delid in order to get it even with a 280mm custom loop.

I wouldn't say it's bad, but electromigration is a thing and will eventually be the death of the computer components. However unless you plan on passing the computer down for generations the only thing keeping it on 24/7 will hurt is your power bill.

Hopefully no one kills me for bumping this, but it didn't make sense to me to create a new thread.

I was just looking into this and a recent tweet from Noctua put the release at late April or early May. So that puts the release in Q2 now.

There are viruses out there that turn your computer into a bitcoin miner, if that was the case, your Fury X would suddenly be hit with a very heavy workload. You should do a full on scan with malwarebytes and maybe a couple other anti malware programs.

Money bagzsz got a reaction from NeroTrident in Noctua 200mm fans in 2017 Q1
For anybody about to buy some 200mm fans i just got an email back from noctua support asking if/ when 200mm fans will ever be released and he replied with " thank you very much for contacting Noctua!
I'm happy to tell you, that we will release the 200mm fan in Q1 / 2017. So it's going to be there soon. :-)".
I tried googling to see if there was any other news on their release dates and as far as i can see this is the first they have given an answer. So hold onto your hats!

I would of posted this in the "news and reviews" section but i don't really have any sources other than this email.

It's personal taste i guess but i have always thought that well bent tubes look much nicer and cleaner than having twenty fittings cluttering up the build.

Also forgetting the cost of extra fittings, each extra fitting is another possible leak point!

I did a first time water cooled build this year - much smaller than yours - but i wished i'd had 4m of tubing instead of 2m as i got much better at bending after some practice

Looks good to me, having recently done a hard line loop on my sig rig I will ask a few to you:

Do you have a method of heating the tubing?

It's your first time, you will probably need a little more tubing as even a bend 5mm out will look stupid and its quite hard to save

I would really recommend a drain port probably on the res or rad depending on which is the lowest in the loop.

Looks like you have 2 more fittings than you need, however thats a good thing cause if one leaks you have spares. You could also use them to mount the drain point from the bottom of the res to elsewhere in your case.

The radiator is kind of thin. Rule of thumb is 120mm per component + 120mm, which is the minimum. I wouldnt expect great temps. I would suggest a thicker rad at minimum as you may SLI later. Or if that case permits, an extra rad + a thicker rad.
