  1. Rode PSA1. I use one for my AT2020 with a shockmount and pop filter, well worth the £100.
  2. Yep, I do. Not a fan of the SA so far, so I still play the mod. I've added ye.
  3. Currently back and running with all my stuff, I swapped in an older card, then my current one, it's happy for now. I'm going to watch her like a hawk now.
  4. It sometimes boot minus the GPU. I don't know whether to point the blame at my motherboard or at my GPU.
  5. Update;tried without graphics card, worked fine. Card back I, not having it.
  6. As said above. Only one USB is responding, and that's my xbox controller. I was doing folding before, turned on Speccy and then went downstairs. Any help? I fear it may be motherboard.
  7. Wish I had friends my age who played it on PS3 who weren't massive trolly knobs who only want to go to the Military Base. I want to do inventive stuff, guys!
  8. We had a powercut and our router went mental. I got the update. So yeah. My router hates me.
  9. I tested this out on my weakest PC, so it could give a realistic idea to people not running something stupidly insane. On my main machine, this works fine, decent high resolutions and good FPS. The system I tested this with; BIOSHOCK INFINITE 3200x1800 Medium 46 FPS Max 29 FPS Min 38 FPS Avg 2880x1620 Medium 60 FPS Max 34 FPS Min 54 FPS Avg Minecraft 3200x1800 Render Far, AF 16, Fancy 60 FPS Max 57 FPS Min 60 FPS AVG Borderlands 2 3200x1800 Max Settings, FXAA Disabled Did not work 2880x1620 Max Settings, FXAA Disabled 47 FPS Max 29 FPS Min 31 FPS Avg 2560x1440 Max Settings, FXAA Disabled 60 FPS Max 36 FPS Min 44 FPS Avg So yeah, this does work on lower end systems, with a tiny bit of tweaking. I saw no change in Minecraft, obviously, Bioshock Infinite had a huge change, Borderlands 2 had little impact on the terrain, but weapon and model detail was a lot more obvious.
  10. Bugger. And there I thought I was onto something. Not sure if being sarcastic or just a jerk...
  11. Plant a metric butt tonne of trees and let them do the work? Maybe use a fan or something.
  12. Why? I mean, Ozone is just Oxygen splitting under UV light, then the atomic oxygen molecule reconnecting with a normal oxygen molecule. All we'd need to do is fire some oxygen up at the hole and let the sun do the work, right? I mean, if a plasma ball can create Ozone, surely we can? I'm very confused.
  13. My dad and I have been at war with my PS3 for a whole six hours now. All set up and ready to go, stick in GTA 5. Try to update (So I can go Online) and get the error code above 8071023. We did the whole manual IP thing, did a DMZ, that didn't work. We tried to check the IP with a quick, normally works with our other IP's, but not this one. Our theory is that it isn't accepting or sending from TCP Port 80. Obviously, we'd like to avoid forwarding it. If anybody here has any ideas, I'd be glad to hear. I'm seriously annoyed, it's like being told you have a new car by your parents, then it's an old rusty 1983 Ford or something.

  15. If Dell do one of these, I'll be happy, just because I'm OCD about monitor logo's and stuff. Still, this does seem like a pretty brilliant solution to a multiple display setup.
  16. Pretty decent build you already have there, obviously done your research. You'd be able to work fine with a cheaper motherboard, unless it's a colour OCD thing (I know how you feel.) Also, you'd be fine with 1600Mhz RAM, but if you're worried go up to 1866. Only an APU would benefit a lot from that RAM frequency.
  17. I have two Staffordshire Bullterriers, and they snore like hell. The smaller younger one doesn't do it as much, he kind of whistles, but his sister snores like my dad. And then, she has dreams and starts twitching and squeaking.
  18. Thanks a butt tonne guys, I'm planning to remove the side fan and stick in the windowed side panel instead (because it's majestical and stuff.) I might stick in some acoustic foam, although the case is lined with Fractal's stuff. Definetly won't switch out the fans, as they're said to compare to the GT's, even if they cost more. She'll have to deal with the GPU until she can afford to replace it (maybe next gen?) I'm thinking ACX, because the bigger fans on it can spin slower (especially with the butt tonne of heatpipes.) Having used an ACX 770, 780 and Titan, I can definitely vouch for the quietness. Thank you a lot, guys.
  19. I know, it's just the pitch that's a pain. G10... Oh gahd. At the time this was built, I'd never heard of Scythe GT's, and considering how much Linus raves about Noctuas... I don't think it's coil whine, it's not that high. I think it's just small fans at high RPM's. I suppose I could remove fans, and then just get some that move more air at a lower RPM. I shouldn't laugh. But that was hilarious. I have thought of a solution, that also benefits in appearance terms. Get some Scythe GT's and buy the windowed sidepanel, which means I remove one fan. At some point replace the GPU with an ACX one from EVGA, which would be quieter under load anyway because I'd get something faster than the 760, so it doesn't have to go as hard to achieve the same effect.
  20. My girlfriend has been pretty happy with her PC so far; PCPartPicker part list / Price breakdown by merchant / Benchmarks CPU: Intel Core i5-4670K 3.4GHz Quad-Core Processor (Purchased For £155.99) CPU Cooler: Noctua NH-U12S 55.0 CFM CPU Cooler (Purchased For £49.31) Motherboard: MSI Z87-G43 ATX LGA1150 Motherboard (Purchased For £74.99) Memory: Corsair Vengeance 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3-1600 Memory (Purchased For £64.29) Storage: Samsung 840 EVO 120GB 2.5" Solid State Disk (Purchased For £62.99) Video Card: Gainward GeForce GTX 760 2GB Video Card (Purchased For £199.99) Case: Fractal Design Define R4 (Black Pearl) ATX Mid Tower Case (Purchased For £76.99) Power Supply: Corsair CX 500W 80+ Bronze Certified Semi-Modular ATX Power Supply (Purchased For £46.27) Operating System: Microsoft Windows 7 Professional SP1 (OEM) (64-bit) (Purchased For £45.99) Case Fan: Noctua NF-F12 PWM 55.0 CFM 120mm Fan (Purchased For £15.99) Case Fan: Noctua NF-A14 FLX 68.0 CFM 140mm Fan (Purchased For £18.99) Case Fan: Noctua NF-A14 FLX 68.0 CFM 140mm Fan (Purchased For £18.99) Case Fan: Noctua NF-A14 FLX 68.0 CFM 140mm Fan (Purchased For £18.99) Total: £849.77 (Prices include shipping, taxes, and discounts when available.) (Generated by PCPartPicker 2014-04-20 21:42 BST+0100) Her main complaints are that when she ramps the fans up to 12v instead of the standard 7v (she runs them with the included Low Noise Adapter but also uses the built in fan controller) they make a lot of noise. I've heard it, and it sounds less like actual fan noise and more just sheer AIR being moved. Any way to combat this? Secondly, the Graphics Card is quite noisy, even when not under load. It's not so much noisy, but it's a higher pitched sound to the rest of the computer, so it's quite annoying. Would she benefit from a stock cooled GPU or something with big fans (like the EVGA ACX cooler?) Thanks guys.
  21. Thanks for the quick answers guys. Dunno why I didn't realize it'd drain the battery. Thanks.
