  2. I recall when Ray William Johnson was the biggest YouTuber with like 5M subs ... Congratulations anyway, Linus & Co.
  3. Look here, two threads further: http://linustechtips.com/main/topic/466426-imac-refresh-new-specs-more-5k/ Also we're a tech enthusiast forum, please resort to somewhere else for parroting salty fandroids ...
  4. Our dorms got 2x10 GBit/s provided by the network of the university's super cumputer Not enough to get me into the dorms, though. 50 MBit/s are fine I guess
  5. Damn. I had plans to post this as an april fools joke next year to scare the shit out of AMD fans.
  6. I don't see the problem. Just buy a brand new device with the latest version of Android to get the problem fixed ...
  7. I find it funny how people complain about MS allegedly mining your data when exactly that is the reason Android is free. You pay in data and the entire purpose of Android basically is to mine your data. That is not the case on iOS, and I'm also sure that Windows 10 was not made for this purpose alone. Therefore I find it funny that people complain about Cortana listening when I never saw a complaint about this regarding Google Now.
  8. Thanks for your replies! Since we want automatic control and a cheap solution, we're rather going to replace the fans now. Regards, Tataffe
  9. Hi guys, I'm looking for an internal fan controller to build into my mom's new PC. We have an MSI H97I AC mainboard, which only has two 4-pin PWM fan connectors which can not be set to DC control in the BIOS (latest version). Both fans however are 3-pin DC control. Now what I'm searching for is this: An internal device (no bays!) which takes the PWM signal of the 4-pin fan headers and translates it into a 3-pin DC control output to which to connect the fans. Alternatively a fan controller which can be programmed via the internal USB 2 header. I found several of those, they were to expensive (and overkill as well) at ~ 50€ though. We're looking for something way cheaper (20 € max). Regards, Tataffe
  10. Isn't this what Ghostery already does? Great news, if so. Firefox + AdBlock Plus + Ghostery is my way to go.
  11. Did you recently buy a console? Might be the revenge of GabeN ...
  12. I wonder who of you uses an Android phone, because those candidates better be quiet
  13. And will probably be fixed on all devices soon, if it hasn't been already ...
  14. On June 28, a Falcon 9 powered ISS supply mission failed in the slowest rocket launch disassembly I have ever seen. Yesterday, SpaceX released an investigation update. The last sentence is an important part. With manned Dragon capsules in the pipeline, this event shows that the passengers aboard a Dragon capsule can possibly survive such an event. On the other hand, the astronauts aboard the failed Challenger space shuttle launch were probably alive as well when the orbiter's cockpit section hit the ocean after the explosion ... As a former KSP player, I find this hilarious. However, they continue to note that the flawed piece failed at a load of 2000 lbs (8.9 kN) while being designed to hold up to 10 000 lbs (44 kN). Which is also important because it shows that the failure was caused by a quality (control) problem rather than a design problem. With the following consequence: Source: http://www.spacex.com/news/2015/07/20/crs-7-investigation-update
  15. I guess they keep Flash alive for the money they get from MacAfee for trying to get you to install MacAfee Security Scan Plus everytime you donwload a new version of flash ...
  16. No. I make my opinion solely based on the product and it's reviews. Therefore I end up with stuff that many people like (my 4690K for instance) or stuff that many people do not like that much (e. g. my R.A.T. 7).
  17. Taylor Swift's open letter to Apple was one of the big news last week. It was about how Apple would not be paying Artists (or people who call themselves so) during the three month trial of their new music streaming service "Apple Music" and how she felt that this was not okay. It seems however that Ms. Swift has forgotten to sweep in front of her own front door, though. Yesterday, concert photographer Jason Sheldon has published an equally open letter to Swift about how she (or her record label) treat his kind. 18. Hi everyone, problem solved. The cause of the issue appears to have been an imporperly connected power cable to the graphics card. Thank you all for your effort. *sitting in the corner, sweating heavily from the eyes*
  19. I know that the high L/D-ratio is better. Anyone in this field knows that a higher L/D-ratio means better efficiency. So please tell me why the E-Fan (a two seater!) has only 9,5 m wingspan? I am going to tell you my opinion: Because it is there to look good rather than being a serious attempt at trying to push electric flight forward. Unlike the e-Genius, or the Solar Impulse planes or probably any other upcoming experimental vehicle. It's the same with the ducted fans: Less efficient than a propeller, but looks good and futuristic. Why are there two engines rather than one? Answer: Looks.
