  1. For Reference to future searchers, the issue was rectified by uninstalling the Realtek software from programs and features, then restarting and running troubleshooter afterwards. It seems the Windows update just coincided with the update of some other driver update for realtek or intel which was responsible for the problem.
  2. After I updated windows to (1909-OS Build 18363.815), the audio is showing error and when i take device manager, it is not showing any audio drivers and is listing an unknown device Intel High definition SDP. My old audio driver is Realtek and it is showing up as hidden. The issue is popping up in several other devices after this update and my PC is a Lenovo thinkcentre. any solutions?
  3. thank you @Wolly9102 for responding. i dug a little deeper and asked exactly what he did. turns out he tried some random fix from google search for "Access Denied. (Exception from HRESULT: 0x80070005 (E_ACCESSDENIED))" and later removed the ticks from every listed user's checkbox thinking that he was reverting the changes he made. upon further looking, i found https://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/windowsserver/en-US/07aead23-1fce-4c3d-8df9-f772aef4fad0/local-security-policy-hot-to-remove-dcom-values-and-restore-to-ampquotnot-definedampquot?forum=winserverManagement i obviously couldn't go through GUI to access the security settings. but he had later found another fix I found another solution here http://www.pcreview.co.uk/forums/thread-2364917.php It says you can try to edit the following registry key - but I haven't tested it.HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\Windows NT\DCOM\MachineAccessRestriction luckily regedit was working and I was able to reset the value to 1. The problem is fixed now. thank you LTT Forum.
  4. LTT should start a Auto tech and review channel. there has to be one or two petrolheads amongst us nerds.
  5. i can enter the password for the administrator and log in. but instead of the desktop showing up, a black screen is shown. i can see the mouse pointer. Alt+ctrl+delete works and i can open task manager. I tried opening gpedit, msconfig, cmd, powershell etc through the create new task menu in task manager and CMD works as administrator and I can edit group policy files but when i try to perform gpupdate to apply the changes, error is shown. none of the MMC commands work. anything with .msc shows the error and prompts to close the program I think he was trying to modify the permissions for some users and when some error occured and accidently he unchecked all the users' checkmarks under permissions. this is what he told me. i dont exactly know how he did it.
  6. Hai, My colleague accidentally edited the local policy of the server instead of the Domain policy(i think that was what happened) and now the server is pretty much locked out. We can't Remotely connect to it or even log in locally to server. Even powershell is showing access denied to administrator and gpupdate is failing saying username or password incorrect. None of Microsoft management console commands like gpedit.msc works. I have tried most of the fixes i found on google. does anyone have ideas as to what can be done short of reinstalling the whole server? We have used the backup to up another server already, so there is no time constraint to this. We would rather not have to start from scratch and would like to know what the fix is in case this happens again. have a good day guys.

  8. It is PCL6. I have tried drivers from this website already and it is giving the same error(Long beep and Load paper warning)
  9. yes. i downloaded the drivers from their Europe site and its not working
  10. hey Guys, I am in a jam. can anyone help me out. the windows 8.1 drivers for Canon Image runner 2520 in the web are mostly not working. even the ones installing aren't getting printouts. It just beeps long and displays an error to load A4(R) paper. The issue happened when we upgraded the customer's system from win 7 to 8.1. The previously installed drivers were bought for Windows XP systems and doesn't seems to be supported in the 8.1 environment. does anyone have a fix or any drivers compatible? it is a pretty old printer but it works fantastic for bulk prints and scans so it is not expendable.

  12. How about a PUBG mobile tournament?? You install one emulator/screenshare or mirror phone screen on a PC/laptop connected to the projector and create a custom room, give room ID and password to the players/customers in the venue, spectate the action in the big screen and how awesome it will be when there is an actual chicken dinner and cash waiting for the team with most wins at the end of the day/night? it is doable and people are doing just that in the streaming community. watch and think about it. its popular now, and its much more fun to play socially.
  13. i wonder if the seeking i does in the middle affect the watch time or does it count as full video watched... ad placental could be randomized but people may still skip through. I like their content and it gets me up-to-date on tech news.
  14. the photocopying and printing is working with the universal driver itself. and scanning function used to work when it was connected to the Win 7 machine that was issued to him earlier. so, I know it does work.
  15. this conversation wouldn't be happening if that wast the case. its a real issue and no, the drivers aren't built in for this antique piece of machinery which still runs perfect btw.
