  1. bump, it's bothering me for too long now.
  2. I'm bit of a nut when it comes to tech, but there are just these 1 in a million things that happen to me and I'm absolutely flabbergasted, and so I'm hoping maybe this happened to someone else and is willing to share a possible fix (although not too sure about fixability on this one) So I unplugged the upstream usb leading to my AOC I2475PRQU (might be a regional specific sku - main thing here is that it's a 24" IPS with decent i/o, one of those bulk office bought monitors) to move things around, but when I plugged it back, basically none of the devices connected to it worked as they did without a hitch before unplugging for a very long time. It's got 3.0 B upstream that splits into 2x 2.0 and 2x 3.0, one of which has fast charging (even though the yellow color hints it's always-on, which it isn't, unless they define the blanking after inactivity as "off"). I had my speakers (just for power) and my drawing tablet connected to the 2.0 pair and they completely lost power and comms; unplugging and replugging, changing the ports on the monitor, did nothing. But I also had a phone connected to the fast charging 3.0 port, which for some reason still works, still charging fast, still using 3.0 speeds, however, the second 3.0 port, which was unoccupied, was sadly affected, I tried it with the other peripherals. What I've tried: - disabling/reenabling the drivers in device manager - as a note, the hub shows up with no problems as two entries - highspeed and superspeed generic drivers (as they should) - power cycling the monitor, discharging the caps by turning it on while it was unplugged (it surprisingly holds up alot of charge to show the splash screen for like 2 seconds) - unplugging everything and plugging one peripheral at a time - factory resetting the monitor - using a 2.0 B cable instead (although that wouldn't cut it for me even if it worked) - tested the 3.0 one elsewhere, it works just fine Extra notes: - monitor has no options in OSD related to USB at all, I even managed to get to the service menu, but that just had fine color tuning and burn-in. - I currently have all of my ports on PC occupied which is bit of an headache as it includes the front ports, luckily it all works, but I'm dreading the mere rear 2x3.0 + 2x2.0 and front 3.0+2.0 ports, it's just not enough for a man. So this all leads me to believe *something* must've fried, but given that one port still works, it just doesn't really feel like it, if anything, could be some weird 3.0 hotplugging nonsense and some hardcoded overcurrent protection that I have no idea how to bypass, but noting that, there is no reason anything should trip, the 2 usb 2.0 devices wouldn't ever reach over 900mA, and that'd take down the motherboard. And as for the quick charge port, I think it can do 2.1Amps (the apple "fast" charge kind)? But my phone's limited to 1.5A so I'm not too sure, could be 3A even, probably doesn't matter as it still works and is likely using different power rail. So, what the hell happened? Attaching the IO of the monitor for convenience.
  3. https://www.aliexpress.com/item/32834429325.html It's a basically "full" PC setup made out of these China-brand components, and it's legit and everything, but y'know- Discuss, I guess...
  4. I want it, AND I WANT IT NOW. Seriously, I want it cuz it's cooler than my brother...
