  1. With this budget and considering you do 3D rendering (Assuming it's gpu based rendering). I would highly look into getting a 3080 at least, it's such a boost to your workflfow 3080ti is also a good option if you need a little extra vram, but otherwise it's an poor improvement for the price. Not very into intel these days, so can't help you much on that part. Investing into ram, something like 32gb is also not a bad choice, since you can use the ram in case your Vram fills out. I'm put my pc together a few months ago. Asus strix x570 Ryzen 5800x 32gb ram 500gb nvme 2tb hdd RTX 3090 850w PSU If you were to replace the 3090 with a 3080 you should be within budget, and have a beast of a machine, should be good to go for a good while!
  2. I was at first thinking of using amd cpu's aswell, but every other system we have here runs on Intel, so just to be safe I will be going with Intel for this system too. I will definitly look into the 10nm cpu's, thanks for the tip!
  3. The main reason we use the xeon series is because we need the pcie lanes. Since we will be rendering with gpu programs, the amount of cores etc doesn't help us. All the cpu does is load the scene, for that less core with high clocks is usually better than more cores with lower clocks. As for this particular model, I looked at what our desktops are already using, and copied from there.
  4. Not any particular model, we chose to use a open air case so we're not stuck with 2 slot designs. Multiple stores have gpu's in stock here, for marked up prices of course.
  5. Budget (including currency): Around 10K euro Country: Netherlands Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: 3D Rendering (GPU) Other details: Intel Xeon W-2245 Asus WS C422 SAGE Arctic Liquid Freezer II 64GB (4x16) Kingston ValueRam DDR4 3200MHz 4x 3080 ti Samsung 970 Evo 500 GB 2x Corsair HX Platinum 1200 W 80+ Platinum Open Air Mining Frame 4x 300mm PCIe Riser Hi All, I'm currently planning a new build at work. We are planning to build a total of 4 of these as a farm, these will be used for 3D Rendering. Below are the current specs I have in mind, the issues I seem to be running into is the PSU. The plan is to use mining rig cases so we can hook-up as many GPU's as possible to single pc. Cost efficiency is way higher this way. At first I was thinking of using 2 1200W psu's, because 2000W psu's are 1. more expensive than 2 psu's and 2. nowhere to be found (Availability). Is there something Im forgetting, any way to make 2 PSU's work safely? Anything else I'm forgetting? Feedback is appreciated!
  6. currently running a gtx 650 ti, bought this about 3 yers ago while i really didn't have any knowledge of pc's yet (as it turns out i payed way to much, but that's another topic.) Anyhow I planing on building a new pc n a month or 2 so this would be a great addon to my new rig ^-^/
  7. So I took your advise and this is what I have now, only thing I'm worried about is that some friends of mine are telling me that the PSU is on the edge with 500 WATT and that I should maybe go for a higher one?
  8. And yet again lots of changes we're made, me and my friends did some more research and we came to the conclusion that overclocking is worth so im doing that now and I also got a PSU now u can check the list below. Also little less RAM but I can add another 8GB later down the line if I need it
  9. K thanks for the update I already have an 212 evo at home so heatsink is not the problem, everything else looking fine?
  10. So I got a couple of friends to help me and this is the result for now, I also got a new PSU but Azerty doesnt have that one so I need to find a new one the did however have a 450 Watt version of it, do you guys think this might be anough or?
  11. yeah, as I said don't have a lot of knowledge about boards so :3
  12. mmh looks interesting, might involve some parts of this with some of the build i have right now
  13. yeah was thinking of doing something like this before, might look back into it
  14. thanks, I'll go and take a look ^^ my friend just bought a amd 480 seems to be doing pretty good, but i tend to like nvidia cards a little more because of the software lik geforce experience
