  1. Kiora! So, I have this Laptop, The Xiaomi Pro Book. I'm needing a USB hub, or otherwise, that enables me to have 2 displays and USB 3.0 ports as-well as charging the laptop through one. The laptop has 2 C ports, and I'm struggling to understand the bandwidth of 3.0 and what I can and cannot do. Appreciate the help!
  2. [SOLUTION] Turns out this motherboard will give a cpu error warning if a display is not attached or a display cable is damaged, and prevent boot. Found it deep in reddit. It has been reported to Gigabyte a number of times and nothing has come of it. So the more yah know I guess.
  3. Ok cool, I tried a different display and it is booting fine now. Very strange. will continue to diagnose.
  4. Yes of course. But the chances of it being a CPU fault are miniscule. Any ideas apart from that possiblity?
  5. Hi, I'm having issues with the gigabyte H310M S2H. it's beeping 5 times shortly, but not quickly. I've replaced RAM, removed GPU, and re set CPU. I've also cleared the CMOS. Things are pointing towards a CPU or MOBO fault. Anyone got any ideas? Or had similar issues? Any help would be appreciated
  6. Hi, I'm currently working on a multi boot tool usi Yumi, My issue is that I have a paid and activated version of Active Password Remover on a drive, and I'd like to have it on my multi boot drive. But I can't seem to create a bootable ISO image of it in order to do this. Any ideas? Much appreciated.
  7. Hey Guys! I'm working on a clients computer and I'm experiencing an issue I haven't seen before. What happening is after updating to the latest version of windows the computer upon reboot goes into the repair menu and advanced settings, nothing works asside from restore points. I have restored and fixed and scanned for things, but nothing is letting this update go through. Any ideas?
  8. Dude, you legend. Thanks.
  9. Ah! Magic! Thank you. Is there possibly anyway to enter a custom resolution?
  10. Hmm' the display is still wide screen though, is there a software level way to crop what area of the display is used?
  11. Hi Guys. I’m working on a mod at the moment, but because of the nature of my dilemma I’m putting this in the display forum. I have been building a gaming pc inside an older iMac from 08, but I can’t get a display the right size for it, so I’m thinking I’ll put one that’s a little too big for the display cutout in there and attempt to crop to fit. Is there anyway I can do a software level crop to reduce the size of the output display on the monitor, avoiding the edges being cut off? Any advice would be greatly appreciated, thanks. Thanks!
  12. Very true. I personally would be leaning towards to iMac, get Mac OS natively which is awesome, that amazing display, and with bootcamp windows should run great too.
  13. Hey Guys! So my galaxy s8 took a very very nasty hit thanks to a mate of mine recently, completely destroying the glass back and damaging the front screen badly, the phone is still in working condition how ever. As an old iPhone user and certified apple technician I am wondering if there is anything at all like iCloud backup but for the galaxy? Because I know with my iPhone, I can just back it up and restore it onto a new phone like nothing had changed. I know samsung smart swtich does something similar, but it requires both devices to be present, I plan on claiming insurance on my phone, and I very much doubt they will give me both my old still working phone and a brand new one. So is there anyway to make a clone/backup of the device and restore it onto the new device? Thanks!

How do I stop myself from being super fucking t…

appreciate cool tech, then disown them...
  15. What program is offering you this update?
  16. That is the exact thing! I also put a SSD in mine. Thanks for finding it for me!
  17. Hey guys! I wasn't too sure where to put this. In one of my previous jobs I had a device that could plug into a USB port and install operating systems from. It had a display that you could select ISOs that are loaded on the device, it would mount one then it could be booted from. I'd like to get my hands on one but I can't remember what they are called. IOD or something like that? Any ideas? Sorry about the odd topic...
  18. Or try downloading an alternative browsing software and open it that way, I have seem similar issues solved this way. http://alternativeto.net/software/windows-explorer/
  19. Ouch. I'd probably leave it for as long as you can. If nothing changes after an hour or so, you'll likely be looking at a re install. Sorry mate.
  20. Yep, after skipping, go into the windows settings and under system updates and security, click advanced and then enable pause updates. The system won't update until either you disable this, or after 35 days, hopefully by then the updates will be fixed, or you can just pause them again.
  21. Ah I see. Right after install it will ask you if you'd like to update and that it will use approximately 4GB of data, skip this, then proceed to disable auto updates. This is what gets most people.
  22. The easiest way is to get your hands on an ISO or a install media. The usually "illegal" methods are actually fine, as long as the product key genuinely belongs to you. So my advice would be to download one of those... some how... or visit your local computer store, they will have loads of 1607 installs laying around that they won't use any more. I know my store does...
  23. Hey Guys! So I finally completed my Mineral oil pc recently, it's been running really well. I decided to stress test it using heaven benchmark over night to see how hot I could get the oil, as I still hadn't got it past 20c. I managed to get it to around 45-50c, but I also noticed by the time it had reached this temperature, my USB RGB LEDs had all colours dimly lit, and my mouse was flashing dimly while not working. The only peripheral that seems to be working is my keyboard, I figure this is because it doesn't require much power. Any ideas as to why this might have happened? Or how I could fix it? at this stage I'm thinking I'll try a powered USB hub. Thoughts?
  24. first of all, I haven't breached anything. No mac OS has been installed on non apple hardware. Second, mac pros are awesome! But super crazy expensive and the keyboards suck, while the spectre keyboard is amazing! and as someone who definitely absolutely has no experience what so ever with putting mac os on non apple hardware *wink* *wink*, I'll take mac os over windows any day. With some proper tuning and such mac will likely perform better than windows in day to day tasks on this hardware. Thanks for the help guys. I came from Tonymacx86, but I'll probably stay over there with this subject based off this thus far.
