The Obsidian 450D from Corsair packs a phenomenal amount of liquid cooling support into a relatively small and light enclosure that also happens to be so simple to build in that my wife can do it.

I don't like the 770 but he should wait for Maxwell then. Since he wants CUDA.

you know what would be a better upgrade?  A NEW VIDEO EDITOR.

CS3 and your complaining about render? Get a new editor....

770 is shit since you'll run out of VRAM with the next generation of gaming and the 4GB version is useless since the memory bus is too small to accommodate for that much data... I can't link right now but search for : Why not to get the 760/770 4GB

Oh really. If he gets a 4770k he only gets a 770 which is worse in gaming and CUDA.

I went on a computer just to write this.

Ok, AMD is for BUDGET gaming, i7 to 8350/8320 will be a downgrade. If games can't take advantage of hyper -threading (right now anyway) then so what? The 8350 has 8 and only beats the 3570k by a couple frames. So by getting the i7 you are getting hyper-threading and when games start taking advantage of hyperhreading you can sit back and relax. AMD will by out-dated with this generation of gaming. Not going to lie, for a budget build, best bang for your buck goes to AMD. But not in this scenario

Da fuck? A 4770k won't be outdated for another 2 years or more. My dad's i7 920 Gulf town is still kicking ass. And AMD will be stupid for this type of budget

You know I mean that kind of bottleneck where the 8320 severely reduces fps from the 780 as techsage said.

I agree with some of the others. Grab a GTX 780TI with a good aftermarket cooler and keep the 2500K

The fps difference is so little, and you still care to fuss about it. Furthermore with the HT in play the fps can only be the same not higher.Lol there is NO Bottleneck.Furthermore a 4770K will be as outdated by then.
So what if he has an intel motherboard?Socket 1155 to 1150 adapter? No.
Also he rarely games so it is fine. The 780 is FOR CUDA,not GAMING!
You obviously did not read the OP's post properly before posting.

    thanks for the punctuation!

I guess maybe my wording wasn't clear.  When I said the difference wouldn't be significant, I didn't mean not noticeable, it would definitely be noticeable.  I was just saying it would still be relatively small.  I also didn't steer him away from getting a 4930k, I just said for him to decide whats would be more important to him...

Did you not read? I am recommending the 4820K instead of the 4770K not the 4930K.

What I was trying to say is I think a 4770K is a bad choice. Either save a bunch of money and go with a 4670K or spend a touch more on the motherboard and get a 4820K.

    dude... use punctuation...

if I understand what you're trying to say correctly, I agree 2 extra cores do make a difference, but not significantly, especially when comparing haswell cores to ivy cores, and 6 core cpu's typically don't overclock as well either (although haswell is really a gamble how well your specific cpu will OC).

It's just that people over estimate the 8320/8350 their ego is too big to pick intel. (I'm neutral) The power draw is too much in my opinion for the amount of heat and performance it kicks out. I know that Intel over-prices since AMD has nothing that can compete with the 4770k. The 9590 is stupid, that thing sucks sooooo much power. I'm not a fan boy since I do pick AMD for low budget solutions but if your build is over $1000, future proof a little bit and go intel.

Keep the 2500K for sure and get the best GPU that you can afford to pair with it. Upgrading the CPU is a waste of money.

NCIX has the H90 for only $50 with rebate (and you can trust Corsair rebates). It's pretty close to the H100 according to Linus' tests.

man, I'm getting tired of people recommending AMD for this type of gaming. AMD CPU'S will be outdated. Plus he has an Intel motherboard. 8320 is not ideal since he is upgrading his CPU and 780 is stupid with an 8320. $150 CPU with $500 GPU.... BOTTLENECKEdit: typo
