My perfect (reasonable) laptop would probably be something like this:

CPU/GPU: Either something like a Pentium or a Ryzen APU.

RAM: 4GB minimum and it has to be expandable.

Storage: 120GB minimum and it would be nice if it was expandable (maybe 1 M.2 slot and 1 2.5" slot?).

Screen: 1080p with good colours and decent viewing angles, no touch, and with a matte finish.

Keyboard: As best as can be, really. Backlit is a must.

Trackpad: Meh, don't care that much. I'd prefer a decent one with a smooth surface, but a small one is fine.

Battery life: As long as possible.

OS: No preference, but if it's ChromeOS then I'd like a standard keyboard layout and no ChromeOS branding.

Price: Would I be able to get all of this for under 500 CAD?

You're really missing out without touchscreen on a laptop. When implemented well it's fantastic.

@SethKraota It's not the touchscreen, it's the glossy screen...
