If you want to have a functioning adblocker yes. That and google is going hard against adblockers and websites without drm.

Use MSI afterburner for the onscreen stats.

That's a nice kit. Since you only have two of them you should just be able to install and turn on xmp to get the advertised speeds no problem. I bought two kits before I knew you couldn't get better than 3600 when running 4. I've seen some people get around this but not show the whole step by step process. I guess the right person hasn't seen my post. Some have been very helpful in providing ample information about ram oc but it's too much for me to grasp. I start reading about it and get overwhelmed. There are just too many variables.

To my knowledge I don't think you can adjust gpu fans in the bios. Someone pls correct that if I'm wrong but I don't think so.

Personally I feel both of these things should be replaced with the vendor-specific software.  Its a little tricky if you have multiple vendors but there is SMART data that is vendor specific and not interpreted in a useful manner by anything else.  Plus if the drive is going bad, they will usually want it tested using their own software before processing a warranty.

I'd also say half of those are overkill for a working PC, I've never needed to diagnose a BSOD and I'm not sure its wise to trust a third-party application to update my software either.  Also if you use the motherboard fan headers then FanControl can be useful.

WizTree having visual representation of where your space going is incredibly helpful.

That does look like a pretty nice system. You forgot to mention ram. What kind and how much are you running. Depending on that answer, I may be able to tell you your trouble with xmp. I can't help but to ask, if it's a brand new system, why are you going to format and start over? I'm not going to bother with the list I had in mind as the guys before me is very much superior. I too need something to display an overlay in gameplay. I'm about to remove geforce experience since it won't let my fans stop. If you run into this issue too that may be your problem if you can't get them to stop regardless of your fan curve. It's driving me nuts. The fans don't need to run when I'm just streaming 1080 video. It was fine for a while but I think I changed a setting in geforce and it then I think, became the default background control for my gpu. I can use other programs to exceed geforce settings but not go below. Since it doesn't have a fan curve option, that I know of, I'm screwed and will just have to update my drivers manually. Should you find something good to display an overlay, I'd appr you pointing it out.

PS: I have asked a couple times for someone with a matching system or someone that knows what they are doing for ram settings and each time I'm given links to guides on how to do it yourself. I can't blame them but that s*** is on another level for me and it's too much. There are like 100 different things to adjust, and I don't have to the time to sit and learn that stuff myself. So I'm relegated to just using xmp. Depending on your ram setup, xmp may not be an option without getting into all the really complicated stuff. However, in many cases you just need to turn it on. It depends on what you're using is why I ask about your ram setup.

Agonylord52 got a reaction from r2724r16 in Building my own custom Pc case out of aluminum
Hey guys! Wasn't sure whether to post this in here or case mods, so I just picked this one.
I've been designing my own custom Pc case in sketchup for the past few months, slowly learning things like which bits are needed to drill holes for motherboard standoffs, and what the dimensions are for a properly placed and sized I/O cutout.

This is the design I've come up with so far!

I wanted a nice triangular design. I knew it might be awkward to fit all the components I want inside that, but I took the time to make sure everything was spaced correctly.

Also, at the tip of each point of the triangle, there is a small rectangular cutout which I would use to mount the pc on the wall, if I wanted to do so.

Another design element I'll be implementing is hardwood panels to be fitted on the front triangular panel, around the fan cutout.

These would be interchangeable for different themes, with their own carved designs and led light accentuation.

For example, one theme would be Harry Potter. The case itself is a triangle, and the acrylic cutout at the front is a circle. So a wood panel with the elder wand going up the middle with some diffusive acrylic at the tip, and some blue/white LEDs to make it seem like the tip is lighting up, would turn the front into the Deathly Hallows!

    Any thoughts/notes?
