  2. Budget : 400$ Country: U S A Games : hogwarts, elden ring, dark and darker, valheim. assassins creed, final cut pro, adobe, control Other details 1080p panel 144hz old specs i5 6600 1080ti 8gb ram 520w psu this is what i came up with. i told him we could lower the ram size and upgrade up to a 5600x but i would like some input. is 16 still a good recommended amount of ram. i play tarkov so 32gb
  3. i dont have enough ports to run wired. i do have a gigabit switch i could hook up at my pc. and run that. i know running ethernet will fix the problem i just wanted to find a solution for the wifi. i also disabled the wlan0 power managment on the pi aswell
  4. so i got my mc server setup on my pi4 and works fine over wifi but it seems to timeout(sleep) wifi after sometime without use. and then i cannot use vnc to get into the desktop. have to re click on the ssid and then it reconnects. the weird thing is mc during this sleep phase is still live and my friends can connect to the server. but it willnot let me log in or use vnc.
  5. so we have a our house wired with network ports throughout the basement. from our actiontech t3200m coming from a nokia fibre converter getting 300/300. we recently finished our basement and now have no way to add extra wires. inn our office room before chia mining we had enough ports for our computers 2. so now we have added 2 more for farming and plotting chia. and ive added a 5 port gigabyte switch to one of those terminations and now the new connection out of the switch is only 40/90 with 1.0gbps link speed in the adapter info... the port from the office is probably 25-30 feet from home router. is there no way to speed that up or is the cable to long for two connections that far away through 1 cable. or should i jerry rig it and put the switch at the router then run 2 single cables on the floor to each pc.
  6. yes the psu worked fine without the cpu connection then i plugged in the eps connector then it just shorted quickly.. i moved the system into my machine with the hx and it booted up fine... btw i took it back to memx and they exchanged it for a new one, and this new replacement works flawlessly.
  7. no i did not i was only using the 550 to check for post. i then set the mobo into my main chassis and just plugged in quick and it booted fine. i only bought this other psu to power my old system.
  8. Brand new system being built 5800x b550 strix 32gb hyperx 3600 EVGA b5 550 i was just building a new system from my old intel 6600k platform and i bench tested the new components on the mobo box. plugged in 24pin board lit up nice. turned off psu plugged in the only cable 4+4 eps into mobo flipped the switch. then shorted pwr btn pin on mobo then it popped. just wondering if the psu was at fault or pluggin into 4+4 into 8pin eps connector on mobo btw all components are fine... using it on my case with a hx850i.
  9. trying to use an old Seagate backup usb 3.0 board with another ssd to use in a rasp pi trouble is windows reads the drive as the enclosure's name... probably baked on the pcb chip, windows will see it when i connect the pcb to the usb cable, plug into pc. then plug drive into pcb.. but in the enclosed state the drive will show up as unknown with the usb plugged in last at either end, just wondering if there is a program or something to force change the boards characteristics or, just buy a ssd to usb 3.0 adapter just thought id make good use of a perfectly good enclosure.
  10. i will have to try that. ive had this oc pretty much since... new build 3-4 years ago.
  11. so far ive only seen maximum >400 watts total
  12. i guess its possible being the gpu riser aswell but it doesnt seem right as i bought my new case back in feb 2020 and the problem didnt arise around september last year and i havent touched the components since feb. but an aging psu could be a problem. but i wouldnt put it by the platinum psu it also doesnt seem like a over current shutdown. ill run my corsair utility and see what the watts are being drawn from the psu.
  13. asus z170a 6600k (oc 4.2) 16gb 2133 (oc 3000) hx850i psu 1080ti strix (stock clock) i have a cheap amazon vertical gpu riser aswell. (the problem hasnt started with this as its in a 2nd case with no problems.) mem tested oc on ram for 24hrs before running daily. its been probably a year with the oc. no blue screens from cpu oc either. having hard restarts while gaming. started noticing this issue when playing Tarkov as of september last year; it would hard restart when upgrading the hideout during the "flash" of the screen when upgrading something. the only way to bypass this is to change the screen resolution away from 1440p. this would also happen while in raid killing enemies. noticed being the same issue with the "flash" of a muzzle in my face. but very seldom ive just been keeping up with windows updates so. i have no idea if its from 1 or more past updates, this issue is now happening in destiny 2. with quick flashes of the game. tarkov also had random window crashes with bad module. ive since fixed this issue by disabling virtualization in bios. my 6600k has a hard time keeping pace at 144fps as its running near 100% usage at all times. while gaming i run discord voicemeter corsair icue asus gpu tweak for fans usually have 1 browser tab on standby just wondering if anybody may have a clue as to what's happening. i will have to test destiny at a lower graphical setting or lower resolution. these two games are intalled on different ssds
