ShrDc reacted to m1lk3y in Wight light on CPU on msi motherboard.
What does the motherboard manual say? Is it an AMD CPU and motherboard with the right BIOS? That would be my guess as to what's wrong since my MSI board had the same white light before I updated my BIOS for my Ryzen processor.

ShrDc reacted to bmx6454 in First gaming rig- help...
what's the question? that build will need a gpu, 3700x doesn't have one. 5600g would be a better pick imo, faster than 3700x, and has igpu if you need it. i would go with 3600 ram instead of 3000 as well.

ShrDc reacted to Kilrah in Help me figure out what is happening to my SSD
SMART is much less useful for SSDs, it's meant to track parameters that relate to spinning drives - if the controller starts failing it probably doesn't even know itself and doesn't have a field to say that even if it did.

Reading it from a live linux system might work.

Linux completely ignores the permissions when reading NTFS.

ShrDc reacted to Mavendow in Keyboard and mouse aren't working when booting with legacy boot
You can't. You need a PS/2 keyboard and/or mouse. You only need one since the OS can be completely controlled with just keyboard commands or you can use the mouse to click the on-screen keyboard. Either way, Windows 7 isn't able to run USB devices out of the box.
If you want to get creative; use Linux to install a remote desktop program on the Windows drive, set it to run at boot, then boot Windows 7 and remote in from another PC to use the mouse/keyboard that way. Well, I just bought a PS/2 mouse because it's easier.
Edit: Oh, if the drivers have unattended installation you might be able to do the same thing for the driver file. Dunno why I never thought of that.

ShrDc reacted to Skiiwee29 in ASRock B450M Pro4 motherboard with ryzen 5 5600x
Unless your motherboard box states Ryzen 5000 ready, which would indicate it has a compatible BIOS loaded, it will not work out of the box and you will not be able to put the 5600x into it to update the BIOS with.

3950x, seeing as you haven’t given a budget.

ShrDc got a reaction from Stedsco in New build, won't power on at all even outside case
Yeah, it kinda sounds like the motherboard is dead. If you checked the psu and it's working and you're sure you tried to power on the motherboard correctly (shorted the correct pins/connected the front panel button to the correct pins) it sounds like the motherboard is dead.

The weird thing is that I have never heard this beep, and it happened when almost nothing was plugged in to the pc, it didn't just happen.

I would just like to say thank you to everyone on this forum. You guys have been a great help to me in many different ways. Aside form that, you guys have given me many things to do with my time. Along with that, most of you have been very friendly to me which helped when I moved and had difficulty making friends. So I would just like to thank all of you for being great to me and helping me learn.
I would also like to thank all the Mods and Admins for keeping dumb stuff off of the Forum, as well as help provide some useful information. So keep up the good work
Also, please don't let LTT turn into Tek Syndicate. Thanks

Also, I taught my girlfriend (she's pretty smart, but don't a lot about computers hardware) what RAM is, and when I told her that my old Galaxy S3 has 1 gig of RAM, she told me that her Iphone 6 has 64 GB lol. At least, once I told her the difference between the storage and the RAM, I think she understood. It was just really funny to me at the moment.
