@wall03 I'm Swiss if you didn't notice already so my native language is Swiss German, Swiss German is a very special and one of it's kind accent and slang of the normal "High" German language (that you speak in Germany, Austria and Lichtenstein and other parts of Europe as well) as we call it. It is IMHO almost impossible for a non German speaking person to learn Swiss German and you can't learn it by yourself because you have to be taught how to spell the words and understand the meanings of sometimes very similar sounding words. Also there are no official grammar rules (this is the only language in the world that doesn't have that) as long as the word is readable and the reader can make out the meaning then that's ok. But we only write in Swiss German in the private life with friends and family, so the official spoken language is obviously Swiss German and the official written language is High German.

And one completely in Swiss German and more specifically in the accent that I speak which is the Aargauer dialect:

If you want then you can give me a sentence and I'll do a Twitter video where I say it in English, German and Swiss German to hear the difference.
