Finally decided to upgrade from my NH-U12S to a NH-D15 chromax.black. The cosmetic difference alone was well worth the upgrade.

Got an old-school bubble wheel balancer.
Last year I got new winter tires, cost of changing the tires (old one were finished) + balancing + installation was $80+tx, and at least one will need rebalancing because I lost a weight on a wheel (so another $20, maybe more if other wheels need balancing, it's best practice to have them re-balance them all, so $80 is you prefer to be on the safe side).
Plus, I just bought new summer tires (again, the old ones were finished), so that's another $80+tx if I have to pay for the install and balancing ...
But with this I won't pay $20 per wheel anymore (I'm already saving money since I'll install and balance my new summer tires, and I'll re-balance the winter ones when it's time to change again).
BTW, removing tires and installing new ones on rims isn't all that hard, I have a set of steel wheels for winter and one for summer, so I don't need to remove the winter tires from the wheels to install the summer tires.
Summer tires (they're more like 3 seasons tires ... got this after reading reviews on RFD, they're basically budget Michelin Defender LTX, not made by Michelin, they just compare well to them) ;

420? 69? I really don't know how to feel now. Too many meme numbers.
Anything more than iPad (Pro) expected? Personally hoping for an Apple SoC iMac, that would be sweet.

Another major Microsoft acquisition, this time purchasing Nuance Communications for about $20 billion:
Via Axios and Ars Technica:
https://www.axios.com/microsoft-readies-deal-frenzy-bbc807a2-fd5b-48a7-99d1-cf06d0a41547.html
https://arstechnica.com/gadgets/2021/04/microsoft-acquires-nuance-makers-of-dragon-speech-rec-for-16-billion/
Nuance Communications is perhaps best well known for speech recognition software, in particular Dragon NaturallySpeaking, and being the core technology behind Apple's Siri voice recognition features.
This acquisition builds upon an existing Microsoft and Nuance partnership agreement from 2019 where both would cooperate to develop new artificial intelligence software for the healthcare sector, and Microsoft's purchase of Nuance means that it would give Microsoft access to Nuance's entire healthcare customer list and technology portfolio.
Nuance's current CEO is expected to remain with the company, and will join Microsoft, running Nuance as a Microsoft division.
To me, this probably explains why Microsoft is electing to ditch Cortana; they probably figured that buying out a potential competitor and acquiring their patents and research made far more sense than trying to home develop something, and moving into the AI software for healthcare, along with the existing high value customer list probably helped seal the deal.

Summary
An update to England and Wales's contact tracing app has been blocked for breaking the terms of an agreement made with Apple and Google.

My thoughts
I could not care less about this type of privacy on this issue, as long as the data is only used by the NHS and kept secure that way. I can understand Google and Apple on their stance, but for government apps their should probably be more room for negotiation.
It is a shame the three parts of the UK could not have a single app then maybe we would have lower expenses as well a picking up earlier on issues such as this.

soldier_ph reacted to igormp in Nvidia announces better ARM support and new ARM CPU - x86 not the main player anymore
Summary
Nvidia just announced during GTC their own ARM CPU to be used in DCs/HPCs, with tons of throughput in order to not bottleneck their GPUs. They're also getting ARM-based GPU nodes available on AWS, workstations and servers in partnership with Ampere Altra and Marvell. There will also be consumer devices based on MTK CPUs.

My thoughts
Nvidia building their own CPU with tons of NVLink buses was expected due to the current limitations of x86 and POWER (the latter has NVLink, but the current design aren't that flexible for nvidia), however I didn't expect them to launch it before their ARM acquisition was done.
I'm also surprised that they're even bringing ARM-based devices to end-consumers, let's see if they'll try to get Windows running or just go for Linux.
This is a big hit to the x86 hegemony, especially for Intel, since they're losing their grasp on the DC market at an incredible fast pace, being attacked by both AMD and Nvidia now.

I did a simple meta redirect, and it seems to load the site relatively well in the emulator. It's somewhat sluggish, but that's probably because it's running inside said emulator.
I've attached the exported IPK itself to this post, in case you're able/willing to sideload it. Let me know how it goes! town.bmlzoo_0.0.1_all.ipk
