Amazon founder and mascot, Jeff Bezos today finally stepped down as CEO of Amazon after 27 years at the company. Bezos had announced his retirement in January 2021. He handed over the 1.7 trillion dollar Amazon empire over to Andy Jassy, who has been instrumental in the success of Amazon Web Services. Jassy joined the company in 1997. Bezos will still remain as Amazon's chairman and one of the largest individual shareholder. Jassy previously has been the head of AWS.

My thoughts
It would be quite interesting to see how Jassy, while no doubt qualified in the field of ecommerce, a cloud guy manages the massive behemoth that is amazon. While you may have your personal opinions about bezos, he was a very driven leader who brought ecommerce, corporate cloud and numerous other innovations to the market.

My grandmother didn't know how to create a new meeting in Google Meet, so I had to call her up, then logon to a TeamViewer session with her (My dad taught her that and she uses it for every single tiny 'problem' on her PC) so that I could show her how to go to meet.google.com and click that big green button and she just went 'oHHHHH it's that simple????"

I used to have friends that would ask WhY dO yOu NeVeR uSe YoUr ScHoOl LaPtOp At HoMe but somehow didn't understand that I had a computer at home that I liked better than the school laptops. They were alright for Word but the keyboards were pretty awful to type on. It felt like what I imagine typing on a dead fish would feel like.

Oooh expensive merch 😻. FInally pulled the trigger been procrastinating for months 

 

Picked up the Ryzen 9 5950X and ASUS Crosshair VIII Dark Hero X570 last Friday and replaced my 10980XE. Runs like a champ and so glad I made the switch to Ryzen (first time ever buying an AMD CPU). Also not pictured is a Noctua NH-D15 that I am using temporarily as I await Noctua's free AM4 mounting hardware kit for my current NH-D15. 

 
Then my parents and I went out to the  flea  market (it was packed!!) and picked up these two Beanie Babies; a raccoon and squirrel. 

 

Bought the red memory card off a friend for one dollarydoo. All the memory card are belong to me for the system I rarely use. The red one took over the teal card's spot and is used for Ratchet & Clank, Jak & Daxter, and GT4. Blue holds everything else, black is just for FreeMcBoot, and obviously the teal is now unused.

Gotten the new Razr 5g .tbh,  specs are not that impressive compared to other phones.. but still a folding screen..XD 

So the other day I got myself the switch just to find out if it was worth it,
kinda liked it, but it was too big to carry around.
So i also got myself the lite today 😄

Switched from 10980XE to 5950X for only £100 extra.

I kinda wanted to see whats the hype about the switch, so I picked one up today 🙂

Man please set that scaling down. The standard 300% is for blind people. With this monitor size you're probably fine at 100-125% and have a lot more screen space to work with then. I used 125% for my former 27" 4K monitor and i could read everything perfectly fine at a normal sitting distance.
 
Anyway, enjoy your new monitor. OLED is great and all, but i'm very interested how many of those will turn up on the 2nd hand market in a few years where the pornhub logo is burned in. I also have a C9 55" myself, but only use it occasional for games. It's mainly for streaming movies and shows via Netflix, Prime Video, etc.
 
I just got this as a main monitor and i'm really happy with it:

I'm no competitive player, but 200Hz is a nice bonus. The 512-zone FALD does an amazing job at enhancing contrast, delivering a much more impressive HDR experience than my C9 OLED. Got it for 1700€ instead of it's 2500€ MSRP and it's been great so far.

Got another 4 JBL LSR308 MkII's for plopping around the house. I think I enjoy them more than the LS50's I have dotted around, so they may end up getting fully replaced by some either LSR308's or the 708's.
 

Just bought this as a birthday gift for a girl I like, hopefully it arrives on time...
I sadly didn't preorder it cause I was finishing my build so I had to over pay it by like 80€ but it's worth it since I know she will like it!

I got 2 things: a 128MB PC100 SODIMM for a Windows 98 laptop, and a key for locking the side panel of my workstation. 

That does not need to include any personal info though.....
