The only reason I could see for selling a PS4 now would be to get a higher value than if you wait for PS 4.5 or Neo or whatever they're calling it to come out. Then, using said money to buy a Neo. Honestly, there are enough first and second party Sony games to justify hanging on to that PS4 if you at all like games. As for $60, that's how much PC games cost too. Just like Steam sales, PSN has sales where games are considerably cheaper so the old argument for PC games being cheaper just isn't true anymore.
 
Generally it isn't a good idea to sell hardware; what you get for used hardware is almost always a small fraction of what you paid, so unless money is extremely tight, it isn't going to be worth it. This is the first console generation I can agree, though, that selling current hardware may be worthwhile because these new .5 systems that are coming out really do make the current systems obsolete and useless, even looking at gaming historically. With 100% backwards compatibility you won't lose your PS4 library if you choose to buy a Neo and sell your current PS4, something that hasn't been true since PS2.
 
That being said, by all means do what you want. If you really have no interest in Horizon, God of War or any number of games coming out then feel free to sell it and go PC exclusively. In my opinion, you already have the machine, just keep it. Save up your money for another month or two to make up the difference for what modest amount you'd get for your PS4 and just build/buy your PC then. Just because many of us prefer PC gaming doesn't mean we should always have the blinders on. The truth is Sony has done a pretty great job with the PS4, and the best games are yet to come. They've made console games just as cheap as PC games during sales, and while I'll always by my multiplat stuff on PC, the exclusive catalogue is still strong enough to warrant having a PlayStation. Uncharted 4 is by far and away the best games I've played all year and if just had my PC I wouldn't be able to experience it. Be a fan of games, not platforms.

Silent modes generally won't damage anything, they get loud if its dangerously hot. If you use a program to configure you have more control and usually, can set modes for silent, normal and performance that you can switch between on the fly. I use Gigabyte's SIV for it personally.

I maxed out the option for PWM curve per centigrade in the bios, and it works pretty much exactly the way I want it.
Keeps the CPU running at a cool 25-45c depending on ambient temps, and about 45-46c under load.
 
Motherboards aren't smart enough to read your mind and keep the temps where you want them, but your CPU and that will throttle itself down, and the little amount of air passing through any decent cooler will be enough to keep it from reaching terminal temperatures and burning itself out.
 
Play with it, and use whatever gives you the most control. I found for most of my previous computers, that was using software because the majority of motherboards I'd owned didn't come with any decent form of automated fan control settings.

The attack then involved adding form fields to the page so that they would be autofilled by the extension, and the contents can then be extracted using a script running on the page.

The vulnerability has been patched by LastPass, but obviously the fact that it exists at all is concerning.
To prevent any autofill vulnerabilities from affecting you in future, you can disable autofilling the fields (you click a button instead) in your LastPass settings.

This vulnerability was reported to LastPass by Google security researcher Tavis Ormandy yesterday, and the update was released a few hours ago. The full details of the exploit have not yet been disclosed, but it was described as a "message-hijacking bug". To understand what that means, you need to understand how a browser extension like LastPass works - a script runs inside a sandbox with access to the page, but no access to any of the extension's settings or private data ("content script"), while another script runs with no access to the web content but with access to all of the private data, settings, etc ("main script"). The two scripts communicate by sending messages to one another, allowing the web script to get data from the main script, and to modify settings/private data/etc.
This vulnerability means that a malicious website can cause arbitrary messages to be sent from the content script to the main script, allowing the malicious website to get your passwords or modify the contents of your vault.

You're correct on this being a standard practice w/ PayPal. It's to help prevent fraud. Obviously not everyone is committing fraud when using a different shipping address then what is on your PayPal account, but it's often a sign of a throwaway account, etc.

Because seriously, up here in Canada, whenever I hear news about the upcoming elections in the US, it's always about Trump or Hillary, as if those were the only choices.

I'll add in Direct Canada...I actually bought a lot of components for my upcoming build from them because they seemed to have what I wanted for the best price. Most things ship for free, all prices in CAD, and no hidden fees/surprises when the packages show up at your door. Shipping can be quite slow, but unless you're in a panic to get something within a day or two I'd say it's worth the wait. I also second NCIX, Canada Computers and Newegg. Also, don't forget Amazon. Generally they suck for computer parts in Canada, but every once in a while they'll surprise you.
 
Also, get used to taxes being added on to orders, I've never found a store outside of Steam that doesn't add tax. Yay Canada!

RIP. This DMCA garbage is a little long in the tooth for 2016. With so many consumers dumping piles of cash into streaming services (I myself sub to 3) it's ridiculous that they still focus on this rather than improving their online content offerings. Netflix proves that there is a number for MOST people where they will gladly pay for access to content. The problem is when the content is not readily available for on demand, legal consumption.

To me, being able to delete your account and scrub your data and change your username is just as important as being able to change your email address or password.

Welcome to the deceptive marketing of retailers. Tax is almost never included in prices, nor is shipping. That's always a fun surprise you get at the screen before your credit card is processed. It's shitty, but it's just the way it is.
