  1. So i recently brought a Verticle gpu mouting bracket and PCI-E riser card. But after installing my computer refused to boot. My motherboards EZ debug led's where showing a cpu prblem. After some tinkering i got past that and the light moved to VGA. I thought it might be a faulty Riser so i got a new one from coolermaster this time (the old one was phanteks) and yet the same issue. I thought i might not be plugged in correctly but after reseeding the card and the riser over 15 times each i have found that not to be the problem. I tried both 16x slots on my motherboard and no change. I updated all drivers and even my motherboard BIOS. The PC seems to boot but just doesnt recognise the GPU. The fans are spinning and the EZ Debug light is still on VGA. Computer works completly fine with the GPU pluged directly on the Motherboard. I've searched everywhere and cant seem to find anything. Any help would be much apreciated. Specs: MSI MPG B550 Gaming Pluss Ryzen 3600 MSI Ventus 3X 3070 16GB HyperX RGB Memory.
  2. no its defiantly from the gpu and not the igpu because the motherboard isnt plugged into the monitor. ive just desided to do a fresh install of windows and just copy my steam library and hope it works then.
  3. definitely not dust in the pci-e slot and its not a dead gpu because im getting video from it and i have not formatted the hdd
  4. I just built my new pc and everything works but my gpu isnt being detected so i cant install any drivers. but the thing is i am getting video out of it. the display looks like an old 1995 pc but after a few minutes it will flicker and go into 1080p but its still not detected. i cant seam to find where im meant to find it in the bois and im not sure if people mean the mo/bo bios. im using a krait x3 gaming z170 board with a 6600k. should i just make a fresh install of windows. also i have a second hdd and its detected in the bois but i cant find it in folders. how do i make it visible so i can move all my stuff onto it and reinstall windows or can i reinstall windows without deleting everything on my old hdd. Im not to sure what to do and this is my first pc build ever. everything else works fine even fairly intensive games like COD IW on max settings. I have a gtx 1070 armor oc from msi btw. Thanks for any help and input edit: it reverts to 1200x800 resolution every time it turns on. that explains the 1995 looking display. i have also formatted the hdd now aswell
  5. allright then if i go with the 6600K will the Hyper 212 X be enough to cool it or would the Phanteks PH-TC12DX CPU Cooler Black Editio.
  6. Ok if your doing those things at the same time then i understand. I guess i didnt think of that.
  7. why cant the video editing pc just have a good gpu put in it then its a gaming pc also. its not like the video editing pc wont run the games as long as your gpu is good. still just kind of think its a little waist of money. but i do agree that building computers is fun
  8. a LAN server or NAS i can understand but damn. also wouldn't it get annoying to have to switch between computers all the time. i find it annoying when i record a video of random gaming shit with my friends then i have to put it on my MacBook Pro to edit.
  9. i don't understand why people need 2 PC's. like just put in a good gpu in the "Main" system and just use that. would save a lot of money. I do have a mac as well as a pc but its a laptop for portability so thats one of the only reason i could justify having 2 computers of those specifications.
  10. For my prices the 6700K is $469 6600K is $389 and the Xeon is $349 and the Mo/Bo for the xeon is $199 and the Z170 Mo/Bo is $259 so i dont think its worth it for the i7 6700k. Yeh i know these prices are strange but Australia man. Thanks to americas recent election all of our money has fluctuated a bit.
  11. First and for most i have been looking on the internet and other forums for my answer but people always come to the answer that the motherboard is the problem. Now my question is should i get the Intel Xeon E3 1230 V5 Or the i5 6600K. again the motherboard isn't the issue here because i am getting either the Krait gaming X3 Z170 or The Krait Gaming Xeon E3 V5 Workstation Mo/Bo Both from MSI because i'm going for a white and black build. I just need to know For my first PC build will it be easier to work with the Xeon or have an attempt at over clocking a 6600K. Finally not interested in getting any AMD CPUs' or any of the newer Kabylake CPUs'. Im looking to play the new Battlefield 1, CoD IW and MWR and the new Titanfall 2 games at high settings at above 80 FPS and im not sure if the xeon will drop frames for me. Side note i also play SC II with a few mods and i record and stream a little. Also the Xeon + Mo/Bo is cheaper then the 6600K and Mo/Bo. Thank you all very much for any responses.
  12. rip i missed that. well hope you have fun installing it then
  13. Defiantly get the 480 over the r9 390. Because in 3 years time when you do feel like its time to upgrade you might even be able to throw a second RX 480 in there and continue for another year and a half or so. Also the 480 outperforms the R9 390 by a reasonable margin in DX12
  14. me personally i'm getting the MSI Armor OC but thats because of my black and white theme. Otherwise i think the strix coolers are just a bit overkill for a 1060. A goof duel fan card should do. Don't get an MSI gaming x when the regular gaming model is available because the only real difference is a small factory over clock.
  15. Im building a new pc and am wondering about Kabylake. https://www.pccasegear.com/sc/tGz thats the pc cage gear link to what i'm getting. Now before everyone freaks out about the power supply thats to be put in my old system and i have a corsair RM750i to swap out for this new build. i read that Kabylake will be socket 1151 but dose that mean if i get a 6100 cpu with this build and later get a kabylake i5 7600k. (Thats what i'm guessing their top tear i5 will be called.) will i be able to swap out the cpus and continue using everything else the same way? So really what i'm asking is should i get a 6600k now or get a lower tear i5 like the 6100 and wait for Kabylake. And if i do the later will the motherboard and cpu be compatible. I currently have an i5 4460 and a GTX 750 so i kinda do need this upgrade.
