  1. Will they not play well together at all or will it at the very least be a better upgrade than my GTX 1060?
  2. Budget (including currency): Country: United States Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Cyber punk, Call of Duty: Cold War, Ark SE, Ark 2, Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc): Hi All, I own twin PC's and have 2 MSI RTX 3080s on the way. The only problem is I think I will be under utilizing the cards. My current build is: CPU: AMD FX-8350 Black Edition MOBO: ASUS 970 PRO GAMING MEMORY: 32GB HyperX DDR3 1666mhz GPU: ASUS GTX 1060 6GB OC Edition PSU: Rosewill 850w Gold Fully Modular any other pieces I can definitely add just ask which pieces. The reason for the RTX 3080s is that my GPU in my machine is taking a dump. I am trying to figure out what to do before going full build around the cards. Please shed any advice or give links to where I could possibly get better hardware at a lower cost. The cards I got for Retail, but the cost hurt pretty bad after tax. Please and thank you!!
  3. as cool as that looks and the price point is on it, not one of the retailers is doing that price at all.
  4. Hey Everyone, First off I would like to say thank you for reading this post, as I am trying to finish up two builds that I started a few months ago and have been scraping money by to get all the pieces. The builds Specs are : MOBO: Asus 970 Pro Aura Gaming AM3+ slot CPU: AMD FX8350 Black Edition GPU: ASUS GTX 1060 6gb Strix OC Edition Storage:Samsung 750 evo 500gb SSD and a Seagate 3tb hard drive for additional needs Power supply: Rosewill Hive 750w 80 plus bronze certified PSU Cases are different colors but same exact build for both pcs : Phanteks Eclipse P400s one black and one white But did you guys notice no memory, I have been waiting to see if DDR3 prices drop due to it being slowly phased out by DDR4 now. But it has not so, not to be dishonest with anyone my inner cheap ass started saying to see if anyone would be willing to sell me their older 8gb per stick DDR3 kits. Im looking for 32gb per computer and the lowest price ive seen for a 32gb kit using pcpartpicker.com is 145.99 which is isnt bad but still want to see if anyone is willing to try to hook me up with better memory than what is being sold. To be fair im being 100% honest on the whole cheap ass thing, I would like to spend less than 150 per kit for each pc because certain parts were overpriced where i bought them but where I currently live has little to no selection unless I drive for 4 hours. Well to all who read thank you and stay awesome. If you have an offer I will be on and off all day between this and BF1 on xbox one.
  5. Whats your price on that RM750? I would love to buy it but im currently stationed in germany for the Army so shipping might be rough lol.
  6. nah, that ASUS gpu listed is the one for my new rig. I honestly just want a better power supply and a DDR3 32gb kit to max out the new motherboard but have to wait a while for the funds to aquire them.
  7. CPU: Intel® Core™ i7-950 Processor (8M Cache, 3.06 GHz, 4.80 GT/s Intel® QPI) Motherboard: GA-X58A-UD3R Intel® X58 + ICH10R Chipset PowerSupply: 500w Ram: 8Gb Storage: 2 - 1 terrabyte sata hard drives Old Video Card: Saphire Radeon Hd 5750 1Gb DDR 5 / New Video Card: ASUS Strix GTX 1060 6gb OC edition Case: Coolermaster HAF 920 with Tooless all that jazz. OS:Windows 7 Ultimate 64bit This is just me getting bored with my unfinished new build and having all the old build parts just laying around. Im going to try to have some fun with it tonight and deliver some benchmarks. Hell I may try to use the old rig parts with new rig parts just to see what happens if I get bored enough.
  8. I see, and no worries I got some thick skin lol. What would a decent build for todays games look like for cost if you dont mind recommending one. I am willing to buy and build a new system but I want it last for a while. If I am looking at building a new system though, I will be building 2 new systems as my wife will also be needing a new rig very soon. So thats why i started looking at my old system and wondering if there are any miles left on those tires or if its just too old to hack it anymore. But before i would ever junk this system I would just build an arcade stand for it and then play whatever console style games i could throw at it.
  9. As for a GPU what would be the best one i could get before a bottleneck takes place? I want to cover my bases before going off to the races.
  10. Looks like the only way to move forward for new gpu is windows 10 since windows 7 doesnt support DX12. What size PSU should i be looking for?
  11. In the long run i will be getting a different case, this one is too big and bulky. I might just turn it later into a big old server case or something. But i will be doing a liquid cooling loop on this system, and getting some SSDs + a new PSU. This was my first custom pc I picked my own parts for and assembled. So if I can squeeze more use out of it I would love that. I am even willing to try to get 2 decent GPUs and run them in crossfire or however Nvidia does 2 cards as well. Im still a newbie when it comes to building, modding, or making anything happen with my PCs. Below is a picture of the new case where this will be housed, or the new system I build will be housed.
  12. Does it look like I need more ram at all or is 8gb going to be ok for newer games?
  13. I took some pictures to show exactly what im dealing with. oh and its current os is Windows 7 ultimate, I plan on upgrading to 10. The other issue i face which i dont know where to begin is when i hit the power button the computer turns on and turns off 3 or 4 times before finally staying on.
  14. I am trying to salvage an old computer of mine to play newer games, and would like to know if it would be a waste of time and money. The system specs are : CPU: Intel® Core™ i7-950 Processor (8M Cache, 3.06 GHz, 4.80 GT/s Intel® QPI) Motherboard: GA-X58A-UD3R Intel® X58 + ICH10R Chipset PowerSupply: 500w Ram: 8Gb Storage: 2 - 1 terrabyte sata hard drives Video Card: Saphire Radeon Hd 5750 1Gb DDR 5 Case: Coolermaster HAF 920 with Tooless all that jazz. Any advice to make this old system run new games would be appreciated seeing as my wallets a little tight but I can save for new components. I want to max out this old system to its best specs and call it a day if possible. please and thank you for any help at all. If it looks like a lost cause please show me a newer budget build that can run games like the new Doom but still has upgrade potential to get better. I have tried to do the research and get lost in trying to sort out how to build a new system. Again please and thank you for the help.
