I bought a Note9 last week.  Best Buy had the unlocked 128GB one for $799 which I thought was a good deal.  You can't disable or remap the Bixby button, but as of a patch yesterday you can make the button require a double press to activate.  I'm pleased with the speakers, battery life, performance.  Samsung's build of Oreo has a few nice things, a few frustrating.  I like the ease of setting up folders with the Samsung launcher, but they've made moving/removing/uninstalling more difficult than it needs to be.  I'm getting used to the app drawer being a horizontal instead of vertical scroll.  I like that I can have multiple Bluetooth outputs at the same time -- so I can have a phone call on my earpiece and not interrupt the music streaming to my BT speaker.  The S-Pen is great.  The cameras are great.
 
If I had my druthers, I'd have stock Pie instead of dump the Samsung build completely.

@LinusTech I appreciate that you addressed the concerns quickly, and glad that it was just banter.  One thing to consider - Riley is still relatively new to LTT viewers.  While you have a long relationship with him, the viewers don't (at least within the context of LTT).  From that perspective it was uncomfortable to watch.  Looking at the ~25% downvote on YouTube I would say a sizable chunk of your viewers did not like it.
 
If it had been Dennis, Luke, or especially James it would have way less awkward.

At this time the move is permanent, but he will be making trips out this way a few times a year for meetings, events, etc. He couldn't make it out for LTX as the move was so close to the actual LTX date.
 
I can't guarantee whether or not he'll host during the times that he's here (or if he will do so remotely at any point) but that info will come to light in time.
Nope - Lloyd is the name of our new merch manager, he was running the merch booth at LTX yesterday so anyone there may have already seen him!

In the iJustine video tour of the LTT studio, Linus mentions that Jon has relocated to North Carolina but remains part of the writing team. Anyone know if that's a permanent move? I miss his hosting!

Lappy is all buttoned up and working like new!  The worst part were the 31 1mm x 1mm screws holding the keyboard to the deck.  Dunno why it needs 31 of them, but there you go!

In other news, here's today's project:
 

 
It's a brand new Dell XPS13 with the gen-8 i7 and touchscreen I bought for $400.  Someone dropped it and broke the carbon fiber keyboard surround and SD card reader.  Everything is mounted to the keyboard surround, so it was a complete disassemble.  New keyboard surround is on its way (hurry up FedEx), trying to figure out how to fix the SD card.  
 
The power supply on the SD card broke off at the connector, trying to figure out a way to rig it back together.  Thinking about soldering the wire directly to the daughterboard, but the cable is integrated into the display harness - so I wouldn't be able to remove the display assembly without unsoldering/resoldering.  And/or likely breaking the cable again. 
 
I may just do without, because I use SD cards like almost never.  If I do without, I need a little happy to plug into the slot though - any suggestions?  I was thinking about gluing a Quarter into the slot, leaving it partially exposed so you can see there's a Quarter in the SD slot.
 
Either way, scoring a $1200 lappy for $400 plus $100 in parts and an hour of my time is *SCORE*
